The media may like to describe Wonder Woman as beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, swifter than Hermes, and stronger than Hercules, but there is so much more to Princess Diana of Themyscira. For over a hundred years, she has been a symbol of truth, justice, and above all, equality, for people all over the world. She is the Amazon's gift to humanity, a paragon of hope and compassion. She has made it her duty to lead by example, showing what the world what it can be, if only we would all work together.

Description:
Diana has a wide array of things she likes to wear, from designer to casual. When acting as a hero, she can be in her recognized one-piece costume. As the odds get worse, she can switch to a more ancient armor which gives a gladiatorial feel to her. In the darkest days, the golden eagle armor might be worn.
History
History:
Reality was not so poetic. Zeus and Queen Hippolyta had shared a night of passion and Diana was the result of that union. To protect the child from Hera, the wife of Zeus who was known to be jealous and well aware of her husband's wandering ways, the story was created and her origin was hidden away in secrecy. Her birthright is something she has not yet learned.
She had a wonderful life on the Isle, training with the other Amazons who she considered her sisters. She learned everything from art to languages to combat. She excelled at them all, having a voracious need for information and knowledge. Yet, her adventurous spirit was the strongest and she would train long and hard with the others, enjoying the competition to find out who was the best warrior among them.
As she grew, she began to learn she was different than the other Amazons. Though they were all strong, she was stronger. As she continued to prove herself, the gods granted her additional gifts. All was perfect until the day the plane crashed.
Time really did not have any sort of meaning on the Isle but it had been centuries since a stranger had come there. When the plane crashed, Diana dove into the water to help the person who had been flying it. She pulled Steve Trevor to the beach where he awoke, thinking she was an angel and he had died. He was the first man she had ever seen.
The Amazons considered killing him and just being done with it but level heads, including that of Diana, prevailed. He would be returned to the outside, the Patriarch's World as they called it. A warrior would be needed to guide him back. A competition was held, those competing anonymous as they wore full face shields to hide who they were. In the end, Diana was victorious. She was given a costume to wear, a way to honor the country she would be going to, designed based on their flag.
Using the invisible jet that had once served her mother, Diana took Steve Trevor back only to learn more about the war raging across Europe. She felt she had to help him and chose to do so, although she was supposed to return home. She helped with the war efforts of the allies. During this time, she spent time with Steve and fell in love. When they had to stop a powerful villain, she was on the ground fighting as Steve flew away with the bombs meant the decimate the heroic forces. His only way to destroy it was to blow up the plane, though he would be killed in the process.
Although they won that day, Diana lost her heart. She returned to Themyscira for a time but realized that her place was no longer there. Despite her mother's objections, she returned to Man's World where she took on the name Diana Prince, the name given her by a nurse who had befriended her there. She lived her life quietly, learning more about the world that she had never known and coming to love it. She would at times don the costume when needed and be a hero but preferred to keep a low profile when possible.
In the last few years, Themyscira has chosen to stop hiding. Although the location of the Isle is still hidden, they have opened a few Embassies in various cities so people can learn more about them. Diana is their representative, an ambassador for peace. She is known publicly as Wonder Woman, having no secret identity. When the Justice League was formed, she was one of the founders.

Animal Communication:
A gift from Artemis , Diana is able to communicate with animals near her. This is one of her lesser known and lesser used gifts. She can understand them, and they can understand her, through a telepathic link. Obviously, some animals are more simple-minded than others so the benefits of this are limited. She may be able to ask a simple-minded animal to do a task, but they are not going to be able to provide answers to complicated questions or understand anything of complexity. She is able to calm an animal with here mere presence. This works on any animals that live or have lived on the planet Earth. There may be limited use of this with alien species but there are no guarantees. (OOC For alien species, Consent of players in scene and only if it is good for the story.)
Durability:
She is extremely durable, also a gift from Demeter. She is able to take an incredible amount of damage without injury. She has fought against the likes of Darkseid and Doomsday, gotten knocked through walls and had buildings fall on her then walked away without a scratch. She is more susceptible to piercing attacks, such as spears, arrows, and sometimes bullets can cause minor to moderate damage (depending on type and caliber). One of the blessings she has received from the goddess Hestia makes her fireproof as well. Temperature extremes are not a problem, from cold to heat. She can survive in the cold of space without injury.
Being a demi-goddess, she also has a level of protection from magical attacks. While she cannot avoid anything thrown her way, she is more resistant, and the magic user will have to use more power than they would with other heroes.
She has an extreme tolerance for pain, having fought with major injuries and refusing to give up. For example, she has fought with fourth degree burns, with weapons tied to her hands since she couldn't hold them. She has a higher tolerance for pain than most beings on the planet.
Empathy:
A gift from Athena , Diana is able to read the emotional state of others, to an extent. This isn't just being able to read their body language, although that is part of it. This is more a sense of how someone is, their reactions, if they are positive or negative. It does not work with all beings, but it does help her at times, particularly when performing her ambassador duties. (OOC Consent based)
Enhanced Senses:
Her five senses are all enhanced to well above human norms. She could be compared to Daredevil in many of her senses, although hers extend to sight as well. She can see some magical fields, but not all, has telescopic vision, able to zoom in on things far away, like a hawk. A gift from Athena, her Hunter's Eye means she will always hit her mark. When blinded, she can still fight just as well as if she had her sight. She can pick out smells, cologne, perfume, body wash, garlic, etc., and can even track it for some distance. She can feel writing on a blank piece of paper, from the indents that were written on the page above, or she can read a book by feeling the difference in the print from the page. Her sense of touch also will allow her to feel the softest of touches, so pickpocket beware! She can taste if something is poisoned, if that poison has any sort of taste to it, can pick out the various ingredients that went into a meal, and so forth. She can hear someone calling for help from the other side of a city.
Flight:
Diana is able to fly as easily as she can walk or run, a gift from Hermes. Her top flight speed is unknown but she can keep up with some speedsters such as Flash at his cruising speed. She could fly out of the atmosphere unaided were she to wish. She has reached lightspeed once or twice but that was an extreme, not her norm. In the air, she is quite maneuverable but not as agile as people like Hawkgirl.
Immortality:
Diana is immortal, being a demi-goddess . Once she reached maturity, she effectively stopped aging. She will always be in perfect physical health and does not suffer any weakening or age related challenges. This is not to say she cannot be killed. She can. It just is very difficult to do.
Intelligence:
A gift from Athena, Diana is extremely intelligent. She has a voracious need for knowledge and is able to pick up on new skills quickly and easily thanks to her mind. This also allows her to think quickly in situations, able to work through complex scenarios with seeming ease. She also has this intelligence backed up with the wisdom of Athena. She has an eidetic memory.
Meditation:
This is not something that is in the typical sense of the word. Diana is able to put herself into a meditative state that allows her to breach some dimensional barriers. She has used this power to travel to Olympus to speak with the gods and to the hell dimension to find Artemis (the Amazon). Note: Diana will only use this ability with staff approval or during a staff approved plot.
Regeneration:
A gift from Demeter, Diana is about to recover from injuries far beyond human norms. Most injuries she will recover from in a few minutes, unless they are major. Even a shot from a bullet that does manage to penetrate through her toughness is more a nuisance and will not kill her. It is impossible for her to die from a gun shot wound. Her body is regenerating too quickly for that to happen. She is immune to most diseases, toxins and poisons. (Not all but they usually have to be created in a lab or through magic as opposed to something happening naturally.) Due to this regeneration, she does not tire since lactic acid does not cause the fatigue it would in a human.
In a worst case scenario, if Diana is critically injured, she merge with the Earth. There, it acts as a healing chamber for her and she will be able to recover from even the most grievous wounds, though this does take at least a day or more, depending on the level of injury. While there, she can purge any foreign toxin or poison out of her body.
Additionally, this heritage helps protect her from mental invasion and attack. She can keep all but the most powerful telepaths out of her head but something like a psionic blast would work, it simply would have a lessened effect with only about a quarter of it reaching her. She has a high level of resistance to pain and such an attack might just make her angry.
Strength:
All Amazons are stronger than humans, but Diana was blessed with strength even above theirs. Diana is one of the strongest beings on the planet, able to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Hulk or Superman. Of all the beings on Earth, Superman is the only one stronger. Her strength is tied to the planet itself, bound to Gaea and drawing her power from there, a gift from the goddess Demeter. There are very few who can match her in sheer strength itself. She could literally juggle tanks if she wished to. An interesting side effect is due to her strength, she can hold her breath far longer than any mortal might. Up to thirty minutes without air, even functioning at full activity levels in a fight with a major villain, she will not suffer from the lack of fresh oxygen.
Super Speed:
In addition to her ability to run at high speeds, her reflexes are also much faster than most beings on the planet. She can see bullets moving through the air and block them with her Bracers or avoid them entirely, from multiple opponents at once. With this, her coordination and agility are on par with her other physical abilities, enhanced to support the speed and reflexes she can tap into.
Skills
Acrobatics:
Although this relies heavily on her abilities, Diana is very nimble and acrobatic. She is able to move and dodge with ease, perform vaults and leaps, free run with the best of them, etc. She is not truly a gymnast but she can perform many acrobatic feats that would be beyond a normal person.
Animal Handling:
Diana is comfortable around animals, mainly due to her ability to communicate with them. She is skilled in the care of and husbandry of various species, particularly those kept on the Isle of Themyscira. Of course, with her ability, she can cheat and know exactly what an animal needs to be content or why they are ailing should they be sick.
Horses were something she has grown up with from childhood and she is an excellent rider. From a leisure ride in the country to riding into battle in full armor, she is equally comfortable. She can perform a variety of stunts, as one might see by a trick-rider.
Combat:
Diana is the most skilled Warrior among the Amazons. She is fully trained in hand-to-hand techniques, including Amazonian martial arts which are something few outside their Isle will even know. She has been taught techniques and weapons that are no longer used in the modern world. Her training with weapons covers all ancient forms, from swords to spears, bows to javelins. She is a perfect shot with a bow, thank to blessings from Artemis. She is proficient with all ancient weapons and a formidable opponent. She can use a firearm if needed with accuracy if necessary, although she prefets not to.
She can fight with or without armor and is trained in the use of various shields. Her Lasso is another weapon she can wield, or it can be used for defense.
According to Batman, Diana is the best melee fighter in the world.
First Aid:
Thanks to her training as a warrior on Themyscira, Diana is well skilled in how to deal with wounds. She would be considered on par with an EMT, not to the level of a paramedic. She is more like a field medic, able to deal with the situation and stabilize a patient long enough to get them to someone with more skill for treatment.
History:
Having been alive for as long as she has, Diana knows a lot about history. Not simply because she has lived it though. She also studies it, part of her voracious need for knowledge. Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it, as was once said. For her, mythology is also history since she is part of the Greek pantheon of gods. This helps her in her work with the museum in recognizing and repairing historic pieces.
Iron Nerves:
In a lot of ways, Diana is absolutely fearless. She does not have a fear of death, thus she is able to go into battle without tempering her actions since it is not a concern for her. If it happens, it happens. She has the courage and conviction to take on any opponent, even gods as she has on many occasions.
Additionally, thanks to her training and experience, she is able to ignore pain for the most part. This is not simply because of her superhuman abilities as she still feels pain like anyone else would when she is injured. Yet, unlike most, she can work through it. No matter the severity, just being hurt is not going to drive her off the field of battle.
Languages:
Diana is able to learn languages extremely quickly and has made good use of this. She can obviously speak Themysciran. She is able to speak most other languages on the planet that are considered major, as well as quite a few of the minor ones. She even knows some ancient dialects that are no longer used, such as Ancient Atlantean. She does not know alien languages unless she has been exposed to them and taken the time to learn them. While she can learn them quickly, there would be time needed to do so.
Leadership:
Diana is skilled in leadership techniques of varying kinds, including tactics, strategy and most importantly, diplomacy. As an Ambassador for her people, this is a necessity for dealing with people from the Patriarch's world and representing Themyscira properly. She has a wide range of tactics and strategies stored in her mind and, thanks to the Intelligence and Wisdom granted her by the gods themselves, often is able to choose the best course to achieve her goals.

Bracelets of Submission:
Upon reaching the age of 15, all Amazons are presented with a pair of indestructible metal cuffs, the Bracelets of Submission, as a reminder of their past oppression. They may remove them at any time. Some choose to wear them, others do not, but every Amazon has a pair. Some decorate them, while others keep them as is. Diana is of the latter category. She uses them for defense, deflecting blasts, gunfire, projectiles, and small missiles, often deflecting them against her would be attacker. She has even been shown to be able to deflect some energy blasts, including those from Doomsday which part around her as though she is a rock in a stream. They have at times absorbed energy, but usually it is deflected instead.
Costumes & Armor:
Diana has several different costumes she wears. The one she is most known for resembles a one-pieced bathing suit although it is more resistant to damage than what it seems by looks alone. Not to the extreme but it is not simple fabric. It will not resist weapons damage but will not tear apart when she is in a physical altercation normally.
The next is Atlantiades' armor. Wonder Woman's armor is of Amazonian design. It consists of a red and gold breastplate bearing a golden eagle, matching gold belt, knee high armored combat boots, and an optional dark blue leather skirt. This is more a gladiatorial look and it is one she wears into formal combat situations.
Her final is the Gold Armor of Pallas, usually shortened to Gold Armor or Eagle Armor, is a ceremonial set of battle armor created by Amazon artisan Pallas, and gifted to Diana, who dons it whenever she expects to face an especially powerful villain. The rest of the time, it remains in New York's Consulate General of Themysicara. It provides protection from electricity, explosions, gunfire, and most forms of energy or physical attacks.
It features a retractable faceplate, which can provide the wearer with a protected air supply. However, this protection comes with a cost. It is bulky and harder to move in. It partially limits the mobility of its wearer. This is not to be confused with the Silver Armor of Pallas, occasionally worn by Troia, or the Bronze Armor of Pallas, which is occasionally worn by Wonder Girl.
Eye of Antiope:
The Eye of Antiope is a large gemstone that resides in the Temple of Hera, on Themyscira. It was presented to the Amazons upon their arrival on the island and is said to be the source of their longevity. So, the story goes, were it to be removed, they would begin to age normally.
Flashing Blade:
Long before Hephaestus stood at an anvil, the Titans created the Flashing Blade. It was meant to kill their progeny, the gods themselves, and thus, the Flashing Blade is also known as the Godkiller. But the Titans, they never got to use it. It was too late for them. The Blade however, it was lost to the mists of time. Until one day it found its way to the Amazons.
The blade can harness green lightning, strong enough to fell even a Lantern, and fire, hot enough to burn a Kryptonian. A lethal blow from this will permanently kill a god. With the blade, its wielder can call upon visions of the distant past, or possible futures, but worst of all, this blade doesn't just end life. It takes it, and bestows that life, that power, that energy, upon the one who wielded it.
To wield this blade is to become the god or goddess of retribution, as the wielder will feel the anguish of the dead, feeding and empowering him or her. The blade is Diana's birthright, but she has never used it, and gods willing, never will.
Note: Diana will only use the Flashing Blade with staff approval or during a staff approved plot.
Gauntlets of Atlas:
The Gauntlets of Atlas magnify its wearer's strength by a factor of ten; however, the wearer must be careful, lest they find themselves succumbing to berserker frenzy. Because of this, Diana is hesitant to use them except in the direst of circumstances, instead choosing to keep them in storage, or lend them to a trusted friend.
The gauntlets will magically resize themselves to fit the wearer's wrists and forearms. The chances of frenzy increase with the innate strength of the wearer, meaning Diana has an extremely high chance, while a regular human has a much lower one.
Note: Diana will only use the Gauntlets of Atlas with staff approval or during a staff approved plot.
Golden Tiara:
Wonder Woman wears a small golden tiara, with a red star in the center, as befitting her status as the Princess of Themsycira. When removed, she can use it as a throwing weapon in a manner similar to that of a boomerang. The tiara is perfectly balanced, incredibly durable, and bears sharpened edges that can cut through most substances, including the skin of a Kryptonian.
When looking at Wonder Woman's tiara from a distance, it appears to be of a rather simple, smooth, golden design, with a red star at its center. Upon closer inspection though, one can see that it has subtle details engraved upon its surface, and star itself is a red gemstone embedded in the tiara, partially covered in gold, creating the look of a five-pointed star.
Justice League:
Wonder Woman is a founding member of the Justice League. By working together, they have saved the planet, and become a force that can truly work for the ideals of peace and justice. Diana is privy to the secret identities of some members, not of others, and can call upon their members and resources at any time.
Lansinarian Disc:
Wonder Woman's famed invisible plane began its existence around a distant planet. In its natural state, it resembles a disk made of semi-transparent plastic. In time, it was found by the Lansinarians, a blind species that lives in the subterranean caverns beneath the Savage Land and Pangea.
The morphing disk was given to Wonder Woman in gratitude for saving them. It possesses some limited intelligence, is able to respond to Wonder Woman's thoughts, and can render itself invisible, alter its shape, becoming any form of vehicle that its bearer desires, be it a car, jet, submarine, truck, or even a horse-drawn chariot. It is able to go into space as well, able to become large enough to carry several people if needed, with life support and the necessary atmosphere and gravity. It will have working weapons in whatever form is used, for example as a jet it will have energy blasts that are equal in power to weapons fire from an aircraft of that size, though it will not have a payload of bombs or missiles.
Lasso of Hestia:
The Lasso of Hestia, also known as the Lasso of Truth and the Golden Perfect, is Wonder Woman's primary tool and weapon. Crafted from one of the two Golden Girdles of Gaea, it is a magical golden lariat that compels anyone captured within it, no matter how minor that may be, to obey the wielder's commands to tell the truth. It is pointless and painful to resist.
Simply wrapping it around one's hand, head, waist, foot, or any other body part, is enough to trigger the lasso's magic. It does not have to be tight, although tightening it is painful as any constrictive force, and usually has the side effect of heightening the lasso's powers.
The Lasso requires a pure heart in order to wield it. Because demons are "made of lies", when they are bound by the lasso, their bodies often reject the truth and explode. It takes an especially strong will to overcome this. The lasso is completely unbreakable, immutable, and indestructible.
It is also capable of altering in length and thickness, based on the wielder's needs. It has been said that it can cast hypnosis, dispel illusions, restore lost memories, and protect those held within its circumference from magical attacks, although these powers are thought to be apocryphal.
The Lasso of Hestia is not to be confused with the Lasso of Troia, also known as the Lasso of Persuasion, or the Lasso of Ares, also known as the Lasso of Lightning.
Note: Diana cannot currently perform any of the apocryphal feats mentioned above, but during the course of a staff approved plot, she, or others, may be able to discover one.
Magic Sphere:
The Magic Sphere, which is a large disk-shaped device, was given to Queen Hippolyta by Athena, so that the Amazons could monitor events in the outside world. The Sphere, which is located in the Royal Palace, has been used as a tool for education.
While it is magically infallible, its usefulness is entirely dependent on the requests of the user. The sphere can show a user whatever is asked of it, past, present, and has the potential to show the future.
Note: Due of the butterfly effect, any future seen via the sphere ceases to be the future, and instead becomes a potential future.
Museum:
The Museum of Themysicran Antiquities in New York, better known as the Wonder Woman Museum, includes exhibits of Amazonian weaponry, busts and statues of famous Amazons, tapestries, replicas of Wonder Woman's costume, bracelets, and some memorabilia from Wonder Woman's battles with her rogues' gallery of foes.
While the museum is and always will be intended to teach the outside world about Themyscira and the Amazons, it's understandable that the Wonder Woman-centric exhibits garner the most attention. On occasion, the Museum will exhibit genuinely magical items, but always with an appropriate increase in security, such as a contingent of armed Amazonian guards.
Purple Ray:
The Purple Ray, or Purple Healing Ray, is able to heal organic injuries through prolonged exposure to the ray's purple light. This is achieved by amplifying and reinforcing the body's own healing processes. The ray is unable to heal that which the body could not conceivably heal itself. It cannot heal cancer. It cannot re-grow limbs, but it can reattach the connections when a severed limb is correctly pressed back into its socket.
Prolonged use of the ray is not recommended, as it may overtax the body's natural healing abilities. Instead, a series of repeated exposures over a set of time is preferred. An offensive variation exists that compromises and undermines the body's own healing processes, known as the Purple Death Ray. This does not sit well with many Amazons and is rarely used. Both Rays are kept on Themyscira.
Note: The purple Death Ray will only be used with staff approval during a staff approved plot.
Sandals of Hermes:
The Sandals of Hermes are a pair of talaria, or winged sandals, and gift its wearer flight and enhanced speed. They grant safe passage through the Air of Chaos, the mystical field between Themysicra and the rest of the world. Although they aren't required, they make the journey much smoother. The sandals enhance the wearer's innate speed. For Diana, this means that she can approach the speed of light.
However, the sandals do not grant enhanced perception, meaning that it can be difficult for a wearer that is already fast, like Diana, to control her movement at these speeds. Nor do they provide protection for the wearer's feet or ankles. Because of these twin issues, Diana rarely wears them, instead preferring to wear her Themysciran leather boots, and occasionally lends the sandals to trusted friends. Were a regular human to wear them, the sandals would enhance their speed to be comparable with Diana's innate speed.
Note: Diana will only use the Sandals of Hermes with staff approval or during a staff approved plot.
Sword of Athena:
The Sword of Athena was forged by Hephaestus, and given to Athena as a gift, with it later finding its way to the Amazons, and now Diana. It is said to be sharp enough to cut the electrons off an atom, although that has yet to be proven under laboratory conditions.
No matter, the sword is an incredibly sharp and durable weapon, showing no apparent wear after extensive use. It is able to injure otherwise invulnerable beings, such as Kryptonians, and has an inscription carved in Ancient Greek along the blade, which translates to English as follows: "Life is killing life all the time, and so the goddess kills herself in sacrifice of her own animal".
Themyscira:
Diana is daughter to Queen Hippolyta, and the Princess of Themyscira, a little known and extremely isolationist island in the Aegean Sea. She is Themyscira's Ambassador to the United States and the outside world, although in practice, she acts more like a Consul General, preferring to spend much of her time in New York, rather than Washington.
She has made a life for herself while fulfilling her mission, but while she may work and sleep elsewhere for now, Themyscira will always be her home. Save for those instances where she finds herself at odds with Queen Hippolyta, which are far too frequent for either one's liking, when she speaks, Amazons listen.
Any resources from the island are available to Diana, from monetary wealth to weapons.
Themysciran Shield:
Diana has no qualms about forcefully ramming her enemies with her shield, knowing that it will survive the tremendous forces being applied, and often leaves her enemy dazed and vulnerable to a follow-up attack from her sword, lasso, fist, feet, or another shield attack. However, if thrown, her shield does not bounce and return to her like a boomerang.
Weaknesses
Bad Liar:
Thanks to Hestia's Truth, Diana simply is a bad liar. It is not that she wants to lie or tries to do so on a regular basis but on the few times it has happened that she attempted, it was like a neon sign above her head flashing the words She's Lying!
Breathing:
For all her abilities and powers, Diana still has to breathe an Earth atmosphere to stay alive. She might be able to enter a location that is covered in toxic gas but her body will reject the toxin, but there still must be enough normal air for her to be able to continue to function without passing out. If she were to go into space without protective gear, she could survive a time by holding her breath (up to 30 mins) thanks to her superhuman abilities, but longer than that and she would die. Drowning is a real possibility for her as well.
Gallery of Rogues:
Through the course of time, Diana has made quite a few enemies. Some are humans with many resources while others are super villains with powers and abilities that can challenge Diana. These sometimes have included gods, such as Ares, although he has been on the side of heroes of late. Some hate her to the point they will attack on sight. Others may scheme to bring her down in some manner.
Piercing Attacks:
Being she was granted her strength and durability from Gaea, she is able to be damaged just as the earth beneath her feet is. While it is difficult to be crushed or smashed, it can be pierced with something sharp such as a spear or arrow. Stabbing a sword into the earth will go into it easily. The same is true of Diana. For all her power and resistance to damage, she is susceptible to piercing attacks. Bullets can harm her, though they will not be fatal thanks to her regeneration. They still hurt, thus she prefers to deflect them with her Bracers.
Protective:
Diana is very protective of others, a guardian who will watch over them and do her best to keep them safe. This is particularly true for innocents, such as children. While most heroes can say the same, Diana seems to be more affected by situations involving hostages than her teammates or allies.
Additionally, she is protective of her people. The Amazons are her sisters, as they consider each other. She also has her mother as a blood relative on the Isle. These are people she will protect at all costs, even at times having turned her back on her teammates when Themyscira needed her.
This can be used against her by her enemies.
