Profile

A member of the Shi'ar Royal Court, she will never be on the throne. Instead, her purpose is to try to unite two empires. She is being sent to Earth to pursue that goal.

While she is humanoid in appearance, this woman is not human. She is Shi'ar. She's tall, standing at 5'11", her body womanly yet with an underlying strength to her musculature. She doesn't have hair but instead a waterfall of black feathers falling to below her shoulders. There are matching bits of feather on the backs of her wrists, vestigial bits of a genetic past. There are black markings of lines and curves beneath her black eyes, looking almost decorative though they are from birth, not makeup. She often wears bodysuits when she is doing something active or more formal wear when she is tending to royal functions.

History

Ellisandra was born into a family of wealth and power. Her parents had wanted a child for so long so when she hatched, they immediately began doting on her. Which led to her realizing she could get anything she wanted, and she used that to her advantage, becoming quite a spoiled child. Her early life was simple enough. She was educated by private tutors instead of attending public classes. It was during her youth that she ran across gardening, as one of her endless line of hobbies she tried. She found she loved it and that led to her learning botany.

During her teen years, she was introduced at court since she was a blue blood (as it would be called on Earth). She was even in line for the throne. Twelfth in line. Which meant she would never see it in her lifetime. Here, she began to learn about the machinations and maneuvering that made up the world of court intrigue.

As with many Shi'ar upon reaching adulthood, she did end up serving in the military because it was expected. While she is a patriot and loves her empire, she wasn't really one to want to put her life in danger for them, yet she learned she did as was expected and did quite well. She also got out as soon as her requirements were met, returning to the world of privilege and political intrigue she preferred.

She has worked her way up the ranks and is one of the key movers and shakers in the courts of the Shi'ar. Yet, things were about to change for her. In a political move, the Shi'ar are reaching out to the Asgardians. They are aware Asgard lost their home and have moved to Earth. They also know that, despite their small numbers, the Asgardians are a powerful people. Good to have them as allies. What better way than through a marriage between the King of Asgard and a key member of the royal court who had royal blood in her veins?

Ellisandra will be the key to the alliance. She boarded a ship owned by her family and headed for Earth, intended to be a bride for King Thor.

Personality

Ellisandra is a woman with an eye for power. She knows she will never rule the Shi'ar empire. However, she has done her best to work her way to the top ranks of court intrigue. She is the one who knows how to manipulate others, how to use favors and information to her advantage, etc. This is what has led her to going to Earth, offering to become the lynchpin for the alliance between Shi'ar and Asgard. After all, she will become a Queen through the marriage so it is a move that makes sense.

She tends to be a bit selfish, having been spoiled much of her life. She likes to have what she wants when she wants it. She doesn't always think of others and their needs if it interferes with her own. However, she can certainly play the role of the caring, giving individual, if it will help her achieve her own goals.

SHI'AR PHYSIOLOGY

The Shi'ar are a humanoid avian species and thus their physiology differs from humans. She is able to lift up to a ton. With effort, she can go a little above that but only by about 200 lbs. Their bones are hollow so they are lighter than the average human of the same size and appearance however, those bones are more dense and allow for more damage before breaking. They aren't going to withstand any super powered blows, but it takes about twice as much effort for a Shi'ar bone to break compared to a human. Their endurance is truly superhuman though. They can go for several days at peak performance levels without tiring. By the fourth day, they will have to rest. Their reflexes are also accelerated compared to humans, moving so fast they can dodge bullets (at range and not automatic fire). This makes them very difficult to deal with in a combat situation. Rather than hair, they have a crest of feathers that look like hair as well as some vestigial feathers at their wrists.

BOTANY
Her one hobby is her love of plants. It started as a child and it has grown to the point she would be considered a college graduate level with her skills in botany, verging on a doctorate. She knows how to grow plants, care for them, what they need to thrive, etc. Additionally, she knows a lot of their medicinal benefits for holistic healing. However, most of her knowledge is of plants on her home planet. She is limited on her knowledge for other planets but she is able to test and learn through the use of a lab or trial and error.

COMBAT
All Shi'ar are taught at least the basics of combat. As a member of high society, Ellisandra received more than the average person. Her family thought it best she actually serve in the military of their country for at least one tour, which she did despite much grumbling on her part. She would be considered on par with a Special Forces trained human on Earth. She can fight unarmed or armed, but she generally prefers polearms of any variety.

LANGUAGES
As a member of high society, Ellisandra has learned many languages. She is fluent in Shi'ar, Kree, Skrull, and many alien languages of species that interact with the Shi'ar on a regular basis. Due to the influence of meeting Queen Lilandra's human consort, she was exposed to Earth languages and chose to learn some of the most common ones including English and Portuguese. Recently she has learned Asgardian. She can speak, understand, read and write in all the languages.

ROYAL INTRIGUE

As with most high society courts, there is a lot of intrigue, manipulation and jockeying for position or favor that happens. At this, Ellisandra is an expert. She knows how to get her way and work up the ranks, to curry favor with the right people in power to give herself advantages. She also knows how to make others look bad or force them out of the picture to make herself shine even more. While she knows she will never rule the Shi'ar Empire, she still refuses to be at the bottom of the royal heap.

FAMILY
Ellisandra is of royal blood, though far from any sort of ruling level. As a member of high society, her family has money and resources. Homes, properties, technology. She does not want for anything. Everything she ever needed or wanted was easily provided to her. Her family owns three space faring craft of decent size and a few smaller ones. They also have full crews they employ manning those ships.

SHI'AR EMPIRE

Ellisandra is in line for the throne of the Shi'ar Empire. After eleven others. Being twelfth in line, she will never rule. However, her place in the royal line and her place in high society make her a perfect ambassador for the Empire. Or a bargaining chip of sorts since her marriage has been arranged with the Asgardians though she has never met her husband to be. She has the full backing of her Empire to try and seal the union of their empires.

ALIEN
As a Shi'ar, Ellisandra is obviously not a human. Instead of hair, she has feathers that mimic hair. There are vestigial feathers on her wrists, a throw back to thousands of years ago when her people actually had wings. Her body is light weight due to having hollow bones, although those bones are stronger than a human. There are also dark circular markings on her face that are a racial trait and not tattoos or makeup.

COLD BLOODED
Not exactly like a reptile, but Shi'ar are highly susceptible to extreme cold temperatures. It slows them down and they are in danger of freezing long before a human would.

MARRIAGE
Ellisandra is a bargaining chip. She has been offered to the Asgardian King as a bride in order to cement their countries/empires as allies. She hasn't even met the man she is promised to. Although she volunteered to do her duty to help her people, the fact she is going into a loveless marriage is something that weighs on her mind.

SPOILED

Ellisandra has lived her life in high society without ever lacking for anything. If she wanted something, she was given it. This means she is a bit spoiled and she doesn't like the word No when she wants something. She can be prone to tantrums from time to time if she doesn't get her way.
