Tandy Bowen was once a young girl, living at home in a rich, white suburban neighborhood until she was kidnapped off the street and experimented on using synthetic drugs. Those drugs gave her the powers of blinding light, which she now uses to help protect innocent children with her teammate Cloak. Together, they are Cloak and Dagger, with a mission to rid the streets of drugs and human trafficking.

Description:

Tandy looks like your All-American girl next door. She's a stunning blonde young woman with shoulder length blonde hair and blue eyes. She has an athletic build about her, one shaped from years of acrobatics and ballet before she became a teenage runaway superhero on the streets. When in her street clothes, Tandy wears flexible skinny jeans, baggy sweaters and running shoes. She looks like she fits right in with the busy New York City crowd.

In costume, Dagger wears a skin tight white jumpsuit with the shape of a cross cut out from the material in the middle of her chest with the base ending just below her navel. Over her right eye is a glowing crescent moon logo. Her feet are adorned in white ballet flats, a reminder of her prior life.

History

History 1:
Tandy Bowen was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a rich suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Her mother, Melissa, was a highly recognized and famous model who unfortunately was also self-serving and self-centered and rarely paid much attention to her daughter. She became vastly wealthy after gaining ownership over her ex-husband's estate. Her father, Nathan, was a world-traveler and more concerned in seeing the world and wanting to reinvent himself spiritually that he abandoned his family and his wealth in the care of his wife. From there, Tandy's mother re-married to a man named Phillip Carlisle who actually loved Tandy like a daughter, but she refused to accept him into her life, so hurt by both of her parent's negligence.

History 2:
Due to her lack of affection from her parents, Tandy turned her attention towards an older boy who was just accepted into college, and became obsessed in being with him. After he moved to New York to attend school, she packed up her a suitcase of belongings, bought a bus ticket and ran away to New York in hopes of being with him. Being out of her element and under-planned, Tandy found herself a victim as someone tried to steal her things, only to be thwarted by the heroic efforts of Tyrone Johnson who was able to tackle the would be thief down and retrieve her belongings. To thank him, she offered to buy him dinner and soon became quick friends with a young man who was the complete opposite of her. Afterwards, they were approached by a group of people who promised them shelter and innocently and naive, she agreed to go with them. Suspicious and afraid to leave her alone, Tyrone tagged along with.

History 3:

Unfortunately for both Tandy and Tyrone, they were kidnapped by that group of people, knocked out and taken to Ellis Island where they were soon experimented on by way of synthetic drugs which were designed to be a new form of Heroin, much more addictive and potent. The rest of the people that were kidnapped died throughout the night, scaring both Tandy and Tyrone into action as they attempted an escape. Diving into the dark and murky waters of the Atlantic, they tried to swim for the shores of New York, only to have their powers ignite . Tandy felt like she was about to explode, burning with sickness, but she felt the dark powers of Tyrone wrap about her and cool her down, enabling them to find the strength to complete their swim. After much fumbling about and learning about how their powers work, Tandy and Tyrone took on the alias of Cloak and Dagger, and have made it their life mission to track down and punish those who push drugs to kids on the street, and to disrupt the flow of human trafficking.

Personality:

Tandy has a very extroverted, but naive personality. Though she is very street smart and has a good sense of intuition about her, she still comes across as innocent and tries to see the best in people. She is easy to talk to and has no problem initiating conversation. Tandy has a soft spot for young children and is known to go out of her way to help and support them within her power. Tandy also longs to be apart of social groups, even if her gut instinct is to run away at times. She harbors deep pain and suspicion from when she was kidnapped and at times it can be a challenge for her to trust someone completely, outside of Tyrone.

Lightforce Daggers:
Tandy can form 6-inch 'light daggers' which she can throw from her fingertips. Her daggers may automatically form under certain conditions, such as another person in danger. The maximum range is 100 yards before the light disperses. Tandy has a limited ability to control their flight and reinforce them by compelling them to seek targets. They can track a being, but it is most effective when searching for Cloak. Those hit by these knives have their own life-force disrupted.

Dagger can drain a portion of their life-force: enough to kill if she wishes. Normally she chooses to leave them in a state of shock where they will see a vision of how their life might be different. The experience is powerful enough to make most individuals rethink their choices, although a hardened criminal or evil being is unlikely to change their ways.

The daggers can only be used on organic beings, so those who are A.I, robotic, made of rock, metal, etc., won't feel the effects of her holy light. Those with enhanced endurance and invulnerability may also not be as easily effected if the blades of light can't make penetration. The blades themselves do not physically cut through flesh, but if a body is dense enough, it can reject the attack.

The effects of Dagger's light daggers will depend upon the player and how they wish to react to them whether or not they wish to have their character ponder the error of their ways, if such action warranted it.. Most normal human NPC's would be affected by Tandy's abilities.

Lightforce Detoxification:
Tandy's energy can also 'purge' a person, removing toxins, drugs, and other malignant substances from their system. It also has the capacity to cure certain persons of drug addictions. She can also use her light to soothe and calm down wild emotions such as fear or panic to try and help a person struggling through a panic attack or anxiety. These effects can only work on mostly organic beings and the success depends upon the player and how durable/invulnerable/resistant they are.

Lightforce Manipulation:
Tandy can draw from the Lightforce to illuminate dark rooms. She can also use her powers to redirect her daggers when thrown to make them curve and ricochet. Her lightforce also prevents her from being affected by Cloak's darkness, and she is able to spread her light around others so they can travel with her through the dark dimension.

Lightforce Shields:

Tandy has been able to focus her lightforce in front of her to create a small shield of solid light that can block a physical attack. The shields themselves are not designed to take on much physical stress, but they've been known to block blunt force objects such as baseball bats and other melee weapons. The shields cannot deflect bullets or any type of energy weapon such as a laser or fire. This power also requires more concentration and leaves her exhausted if used too many times as it requires a great deal of light to expell.

Athletics:
Tandy is a top notch athlete with a background of acrobatics, gymnastics and ballet. After running away from home, Tandy turned her skills into a form of parkour where she can quickly navigate the city on hand and foot.

Combat:
Tandy, though she is not professionally trained, can handle herself in hand-to-hand combat. Definitely favoring speed over strength, Tandy uses her background in gymnastics and acrobatics to position herself in a favorable position during a fight. She knows how to escape most grapples and can disarm weapons if need be. Most of her combat relies on her light based powers, trying to fight from a distance.

Street Smarts:

Survival on the street means you have to have eyes and ears to the ground and understand the inner workings of the city. Through the years, Tandy has developed a knack for tracking criminals, maniuplating people through social engineering due to her good looks and charm, and understanding how gangs and their affiliates work throughout the city. She understands the ins and outs of how drugs come into the city and human trafficking.

Cloak:
Tandy has a teammate named Cloak. The two are bound together through circumstance and have to rely on each other to stay alive or else their powers will consume them. He has become her best friend and the only person she knows she can fully trust and depend on, even if they do not always see eye-to-eye.

Holy Ghost Church:

Dagger currently has access to the old Holy Ghost Church on 42nd Street which is no longer in commission and looked after by Father Francis Delgado. She has been living there ever since she gained her powers. Father Delgado makes sure to keep their identities a secret, even if he is not happy with their vigilante ways.

Weaknesses

Burning Up:
Because Tandy is a conduit for the Lightforce within her, if she does not discharge her light regularly, it will burn her up from within. The more she carries on her person, the brighter she tends to glow, and the hotter she can feel to the touch. Due to this, she tends to feed Cloak her extra light to keep his hungers in check, and to prevent her from exploding like a small star.

Co-Dependency:

Tandy is dependent on Cloak in more ways than one. Though she longs for an independent life, she finds herself emotionally tethered to his wants and needs and feels guilt if she tries to pursue a life of her own outside of him. She knows what kind of monster he will become without her, and this has prevented her from exploring deeper relationships with other people, or superheroes. Due to this, they will always be a 'duo' and never join a real team in an official capacity. OOC: This does not have to carry over to another player if Dagger is to be dropped and said player can change the dynamic of her relationship with Cloak.
