Profile

Lumifao are known as some of the best low-G dancers in the galaxy, as painters and sculptors. They're viewed as tranquil, artistic souls and generally thought to be incapable of violence. Then there's Coco, a participant in the Faxian Genocide, a somewhat famous Privateer known for her ruthlessness and Commander of her very own warship. It's not like she hides that she's Lumifao, but nobody seems to believe her. These days she works for the insurance companies, investigating colonies and outposts that've gone silent.

ALIEN BIOLOGY

She's a space bug basically. There's an armored exoskeleton which is quite durable, the fuzz fur she's covered in was designed to cushion her against the inside of her armor. She's also quite strong considering her size and weight, able to bench press about 250lbs with any two of her four arms. She's liable to heal back from any injury received, presuming either brain survives. Granted a full heal may require submersion in a nutrient bath for a few weeks. She requires little oxygen, little water and can go months without eating. She's fairly resistant to radiation, is comfortable down to sub zero temperatures.

ARMORED BUG

Lumifao normally have both antennas and glorious wings, which are unfortunately for soldiers are usually amputated at hatching. Those nerve clusters are then tied in with prosthetics, because antennas and big delicate wings are no fun in a space suit. From a practical point of view however, it's a net gain. When she's in her suit she has a translator, sensors, radios and all that information is essentially jacked in where her antennas would have been. The nerves originally dedicated to those wings are likewise used to control her armor's thrusters and whatever wing doodads she may have installed. Though Lumifao armor is traditionally only somewhat "Powered", she moves as well in her armor as she does without a stitch on. The result is a surprisingly durable, and agile combatant of course.

ZERO-G

Lumifao were made for acrobatic flight in the low gravity of their homeworld, so actual Zero-G is substantially less an issue. She's capable of keeping her orientation even during the most violent of low-G maneuvers, and the low mass necessary to permit radical changes in direction and velocity. With her prosthetic wings or even her hardsuit, is more than happy to put her flight-oriented adaptations to use. She presents an exceptionally hard target to engage, and is quite comfortable with highly erratic , dynamic flight in combined spaces whilst engaging the enemy. At 1G Coco is an experienced fighter, at Zero-G she's in very rare company indeed.

EXPERIENCED COMBATANT

Coco's been around the block a few times, and it shows. She mastered the majority of infantry skills a few hundred years back, and she's been picking up dirty tricks ever since. She can pick up and put to use any number of common small arms, knows how to make use of a knife or an explosive charge. She's familiar with small unit tactics, military procedure and of course booby traps you'd commonly find out there. She may not be the most bleeding edge combatant on the field, but she's often the most experienced one.

EXPERIENCED SAILOR

Since her earliest days Coco has been out amongst the stars. She can fix a warp drive, rerig a power conduit and spout technobabble with the best of them. She's a pretty good gunnery officer, can fly a fighter or a dropship without a problem. Coco's real talent is with smaller sub-cap vessels like cutters, corvettes and the like. Presuming the ship is up to snuff, she's more than comfortable playing with vessels of far larger displacement. She also knows how to sling and rig a Corvette and the like for maximum performance, and how to lay out a course to avoid detection from interested parties.

EXPERIENCED TRAVELER

Coco's been around the Galaxy a few times by this point, and it shows. She's fairly familiar with the most popular customs and social norms, and has a talent for picking them up as she goes. The result is that she's rarely offensive, though occasionally fail to be taken seriously for various other reasons. She also has a fairly comprehensive library of travel guides she's collected over the years, which helps of course.

ARMORY

Between a very expensive auto-fab kept onboard, and an impressive collection of equipment she's stockpiled onboard over the years Coco rarely suffers for lack of options. She's got an impressive array of widgets, gizmos, smallarms, pokey doodads, armor attachments for her hardsuit and goodness knows what else. What she doesn't have is a bunch of hyper exotic materials just laying around, but she can manufacture the basic stuff no problem she's got the plans onboard.

BOSHTEN CITIZEN

Whilst nobody has ever accused to Boshten of being a Military superpower, they are an agricultural powerhouse with significant economic power. Coco is pretty well liked by the Boshten as a whole, and she's a full legal citizen in any case. She has a lovely little house in Boshten space, Boshten ports will accept her vessel without asking questions and the government is more than happy to provide Coco with a safe haven if she has need for it.

CORVETTE

Coco is the proud owner and Captain of the B.D.S "Very Best Intentions" a Low displacement corvette of Boshten origins. It's fairly modest at 152M in length, and the hull design is about eighty years old by this point. However it's quite well armed, has an excellent array of sensors, room for a small dropship, and even by modern standards it's impressively agile and fast for a ship her size. Originally crewed by 25, these days it's a compliment of droids and just Coco. The Ship is both her home, and her livelihood and she's more than able to push the "VBI" to it's absolute limit.

AMPUTEE

Most Soldier caste Lumifao had their wings and antenna amputated shortly after hatching, and Coco is no different. Lumifao wings in particular are a point of pride, and the fact that she must rely upon prosthetics is a continual point of shame. It also means that her "Fake" antenna and prosthetic wings may indeed malfunction or even worse, be forcibly removed which is all the more shameful.

CULTURAL OUTCAST

Lumifao's Soldier caste were active, willing participants in a genocide against the Faxian people a few hundred years back. Their methodical, systematic extermination of the Faxians horrified the civilian populace back home, and their queen. Soldier caste Lumifao are persona-non-grata in Lumifao space, and subjects of much hatred by common Lumifao. More than a few other species also tend to have issues with what they've done, and their reputation as mercenaries and privateers since doesn't help.

CUTE

No really, it sucks and it's an actual problem. Lumifao are well known peaceniks, are cute and pretty unthreatening. Even in her armor, Coco often struggles to intimidate her foes. Others are prone to dismiss her out of hand, or generally refuse to believe she's anything like a serious combatant. Even in systems where they've heard of the terrifying "Captain Coco" many will refuse to believe she's the real deal. Depending on the location she may be ejected from bars, Weapon shops, you name it because folks will freely associate her with the peaceful Lumifao stereotype. Granted that does tend to make contact with colonies a bit easier, but if theres a hostage situation or worse? Yeah she's going to have to resort to violence.

MUTE

Lumifao are all naturally mute, though thankfully they can hear and understand language as well as anyone. They just don't have the sort've voice box necessary, nor the correctly shaped mouth to shape the words. Their native language is visual, sequences and colors of colors formed with a mixture of their antenna and those glowing compound eyes of theres. Fortunately for Coco, her hardsuit and her ship both have rather fantastic translators built in. Newly met species will occasionally require a short period of "listening" before her translators will kick over and start making sense however, and whilst she could always just use a pad and pen? Not many folks know how to read written Lumifao without a translator of their own on hand. The result is a heavy reliance on her translators to permit her to talk, which can be kind of a pain.

TEMP SENSITIVE

Whilst Lumifao are quite comfortable down to sub-zero temps, their tolerance of heat is pretty negligable. Anything above aproximately ninety degrees is distinctly uncomfortable, and prolonged periods above a hundred degrees are likely to be downright fatal. Whilst her armor may do wonders to keep her comfortable, it was also never designed with long periods of high heat in mind.
