Profile
Artemis the other Amazon. Among Amazons a great battlemaster, teacher, and honored heroine. Born among the once splintered faction of the Bana-Mighdall Amazons, Artemis has risen to the rank of Shim'Tar. Much of her life is a mystery in the Patriarch's World, and her name is nearly unknown outside of the Amazons. She has ventured forth to seek the lost relics of the Bana-Mighdall.

Statuesque is a good descriptor of the woman, powerfully built, standing over six foot in height with a light bronze tan and bold very long red hair. The bold scarlet hair is pulled up to a topknot bound with brass rings, from this perch it hangs free cascading in luxurious silken full body all the way to her knees. (If loosened it could reach her ankles.) The womanâs face is long and slightly severe. Red brows arch over her eyes, with a point just outside center. Large emerald green eyes are often accented to her current style. High pronounced cheekbones above lean cheeks and a triangled jaw that meets at a small squared jaw. This harshness is offset somewhat by a large mouth and full lips.Her nose is well fitted, lean and portionately sized. The neck is long, narrowing slightly, but even here there are hits of tight muscles.
The body beneath is again sculpted, strong shoulders with defined muscles in her long arms. Her torso tight muscular to pronounced abs. She still possesses full breasts and a narrow waist with full hips, rather than distract from her strength though, these traits only seem to further emphasize it. The legs are especially powerful from thighs to calves.
In dress she favors white, green and gold, but often wears blacks and dark reds to battle or for blending.

History

Over a millennia ago the Amazon people split over ideological and spiritual issues. Queen Hippolyta remained in Themyscira with the majority of the Amazon people. Antiope led the splinter faction to Egypt to form the Bana-Mighdall Amazons.
Born among the Bana-Mighdall Amazons in Egypt over two centuries ago, Artemis is actually young by Amazon standards. She possessed of an exception aptitude for combat and was gifted with prophetic dreams of one day becoming Shim'Tar, war-chieftain and sometimes defacto ruler of the Bana-Mighdall Amazons.
As a teenager, she sought to solidify this future by claiming the greatest and most dangerous of Bana weapons, the Bow of Ra. As she snuck into to claim is a Goddess appeared and snatched the bow from her, declaring the weapon would choose its wielder. Artemis protested that she had received portents that is would be hers, but the goddess replied, perhaps one day, but not this day.
Seeing this as more challenge than judgement, Artemis buried herself deeper in training. In less than a century, the young woman became one of the finest warriors among her people.
Difficult times fell on the Bana, and a dark solution was offered to the Bana Queen. Circe and Ares offered support to the Bana-Mighdall if they would attack the Themyscira Amazons. The Queen accepted and called the Bana to war council.
Young Artemis was among the most opposed to the attack. She passionately argued that Amazon not make war on Amazon. Yet, when the war was resolved to the course, Artemis obeyed. When the two armies met to fight Ares and Circe turned on both sides to destroy the whole of the Amazons.
Circe and Ares pulled Themyscira into a demon dimension as the battle became locked between the two factions. Too late the Amazons noticed the changing skies to counter the magic. Demons assaulted the island, and like fighting siblings, the Amazons joined against the new invaders. Hundreds of Amazons, fell in that battle and the skirmishes and battles that followed for the next decade, a catastrophic loss for the small numbers of existing Amazons. The factions unified in the constant fight for survival and the search for escape. It is at this time, from her opposition to the civil war and ferocious defense of the Amazons, Artemis was raised to Shim'Tar.
At long last, the Goddesses answered the prayers of the Amazons. Themyscira was pulled out dark domain, but as they began to shift back to the world, the demon prince Dalkriig-Hath struck. Artemis tried to hold the breach. But it was she the creature had come for, as she began to transition, her struck her down, dragging her soul back.
Artemis was reformed in his domain, forced in to a dark marriage, and all the horrors entailed. Between her time as slave-wife and the Amazon trapped time, Artemis acquired her demonology skills and talents.
At the first sign of weakness, Artemis attacked, killing Dalkriig-Hath. The surge of released energy put ripped a tear in the dimensional barrier. Artemis pulled and clawed her way back to the world.
Disoriented for a time Artemis joined with demon hunters, fighting the demons that escaped through the tear. Taking the name Requiem, she lived for a brief while in the World of the Patriarch.
Belyllioth, Artemis' one ally from her servitude in Hell sought the Amazon out. Belyllioth explained there was a war in Hell to conquer Dalkriig-Hath's Realm, until it was ended the tear would remain. By virtue of Artemis marriage to Dalkriig-Hath, Artemis was heir to the realm. Traveling back to Hell, Artemis claimed the realm, ending the war. However, during the ceremony of investiture, Bell took the place Artemis, allowing the Amazon to return to world of the living.
Artemis traveled the realm of the Bana in Egypt to find it destroyed during the time of the demon war. Then she traveled to Themyscira to find the Bana living there, but as second class citizens. To avoid a second civil war, Artemis retook the title of Shim'Tar and Hippolyta ceromoniously adopted Artemis.
In the decades since Artemis has hunted the relics looted from the Bana. The search for the most powerful and dangerous, the Bow of Ra has returned her to the World of the Patriarch.

The first thing likely to be noticed about Artemis is her quick temper. She is indeed brash, and bashing is a go to first response. However, Artemis is capable of measured thought, skilled planning and battle tactics, as well as compassion. She is also desperate to prove her worthiness, and superiority over most others, prone to accepting a challenge before considering it. Protective first of the Amazons, then of women and children, but ultimately of any she sees repressed. That said, more than one person has called her a bully, those with all their teeth probably didn't say it where she could hear it. Ultimately, Artemis is a proud and honorable woman.

AMAZONIAN
Artemis bears the gifts of the Amazon physique at its best.
Strength: strong enough to lift fifteen tons or leap a dozen stories into the air.
Agility: agile enough to dodge or deflect bullets. Fast enough to catch a cheetahâ.
Heightened Senses: her senses are on par with the peak in the animal kingdom: smell of a wolf, sight of an eagle, hearing of a deer.
Immortality: Artemis is also a function immortal, frozen in age at the the peak of vitality. Artemis also possesses accelerated healing and superhuman endurance. Bludgeoning damage is easily shrugged off, but Amazonians oddly are weak to piercing attacks with only slightly superior resilience to that of humans.

During her time in demonic dimensions Artemis has acquired special powers.
Dispelling Magic: Artemis can remove curses and enchantments from others given time and access to arcane components.
Demonic Detection: Artemis has an ability to sense demonic presence.

An adopted daughter of Hippolyta, by way adopted sister to Diana, Artemis is among the highest ranking Amazons. As Shim'Tar she is the leader of the smaller Bana-Mighdall faction. Wealth, resources, weapons, lodging, and even legal defense can be tapped from the embassy.
MISTRESS
Mistress is a hugs battle ax of enchanted make forged by the Egyptian Gods. It is linked to Artemis and can travel to her at desire from any where. This huge axe is capable of cutting almost anything, even a Kryptonian slightly, and it augments Artemis' already impressive skill. While wielding Mistress, Artemis can deflect even fully automatic machine guns. While far stronger than steel, it can be damaged, any such damage affects Artemis and causes great pain.
