- Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro was in his most dangerous of moods. He was bored. Wanda was off doing witchy things and/or canoodling with her Stephen and that left him at ends. So, just to amusement, he ran from Avengers Mansion up to Westchester, to go see what the X-Men were up to. They were so slow dodging around their cameras and physical security was pretty easy when you could break the sound barrier with only medium effort. But the jog from New York had worked up his appetite and a house this big had to had a correspondingly well-stocked kitchen, right?
It didn't take him long (from a normal perspective. For him, it took an agonizingly long time.) to find the kitchen and make himself a little something.
And by a little something, that meant a loaf of bread, a stack of cold cuts, and a serious dent in their condiment selection. Like most everything he did when left to his own devices, he did his meal prep at speed as well, slowing down just enough to not destroy the bread or shred the cold cuts.
- Deadpool has posed:
During a brief lull in the use of the Speed Force, or whatever it was that Quicksilver used to move faster than Noah Lyles, or whomever was tearing it up at the Olympics right now, Wade Wilson, who was wearing his costume, complete with mask, and a chef's apron tied around his waist that said 'kiss the cook', "pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon?"
He had managed to navigate all the various sensors too, though his was a hell of a lot harder, dealing with trip wires, magnifying glasses, acrobatic stunts, a zipline, a rubber chicken, patience, and a lot of luck, and it was all just for a joke. He was like that.
- Rogue has posed:
It wasn't bored for Rogue...alright, it wasn't entirely -not- board, but truth be told she just needed some space from her morning.
A trip to the danger room and a some shattered hardlight-formed sentinels later? Well, she'd felt a little better...but she also felt hungry.
Showered and switched into her civies, Rogues choice of skirt and crop top might almost seem revealing...were it not for the semi-transparent green over-shirt she wore specifically to avoid accidently 'zapping' someone through brief contact.
Arriving with her hair down, there was a pause as the southern belle stepped into the kitchen, taking in the sight of those there so far for a moment before she shrugged.
Heck, anyone could be hungry and she'd seen stranger...right?
- Wolverine has posed:
Irony of ironies, Wanda is around. Logan smell her about. Plus, he can smell the latent energy, too. That's another tale though.
Logan shows up in the kitchen and is dressed in typical pair of blue jeans, a black tanktop and not much else. Ocean blue eyes just take in the details of today.
There's a blur of white, bred and the smell of cold cuts. "Avengers run outta milk n' cookies?" he figured Avengers have a better food budget than the Mansion.
And then there's that sound. Like nails on a chalkboard that flow from a meatsack with a mouth. The sensors are having some issues (see (Meta)Physical scene). Logan doesn't say anything when Deadpool inquires about mustard.
"I'm gonna need a drink," Logan says and then glares at the fridge. That one won't have any booze. He tries not to grumble, or growl, as memory reminds him of this little fact.
"Interestin' group in the kithcne fer once." It is nice to have a small gathering in the kitchen.
- Polaris has posed:
'Bored' is not a word Lorna has been familiar with recently. And while the+majority of Xmen and students alike had been away for summer vacation, they may have returned to the mansion to find the front yard under light reconstruction. Seems there had been some sort of battle right on the front doorstep..
But things are back to being peaceful now. And Lorna looks exhausted as she enters the kitchen, starved for food and in need of nourishment. She looks a little dishevelled as she steps in, dressed in faded blue jeans and mint green t-shirt, searching the fridge for a sandwich.
Pietro may have heard from Wanda that she had also headed to Xavier's.
- Quicksilver has posed:
It was an effort but Pietro slowed down to the point where he'd been intelligible to the other people in the room. He looked at Wade with disgust and shook his head. "No." he said sharply. It took effort not to shank the Merc with a Mouth with the butter knife he was currently holding, but he managed to refrain. This time.
But then he turned to Logan and shrugged. "I was bored." he said, as if this explained everything. "And hungry." he admitted.
- Deadpool has posed:
Adopting his best fake French accent, "why of monsieur Logan, we have only the finest wines, for we are the finest French restaurant this side of Salem Center, hoh hoh hoh," and then switching back to his Canadian voice, he moved swiftly over towards Rogue, towel draped over his arm, "and what would the delightful belle of the ball like? French toast, waffles, bacon, eggs, grits, a couple of rashes of Canadian bacon?"
After taking note of Rogue's order, he would move over to Lorna, "ah, how lovely to see the prettiest member of the Eisenhardt... Maximoff... Dane... just what do we call your family tree anyway? What would you like?"
It was probably about this point that people might have noticed that the oven was going, as well as a few pots and pans on the stove.
- Rogue has posed:
Spotting Logan coming through and his comment as she pads her way over to the fridge, her own drink notably not alcoholic, but a can of soda popped open.
Drawing it to her lips, she tilts her head to the side at Logan's comment.
"Callin' us borin' Logan?" she questions lightly before looking up at Lorna's arrival and then turning to Pietro. "Did you leave the rest of us somethin'?"
Well, did she dare test what Wade was serving? Hell, why not? A shrug was given lightly.
"Sure, who doesn't like french toast and bacon?"
- Wolverine has posed:
Boredom, "Makes sense," Logan ays honestly. A speedster would have to deal with often. Like ADHD on steriods.
And tehn there's Wade. "Charles likes to keep the place mostly dry. Don't believe the bit 'bout the wine," because there are laws against minors drinking. And some mutants have an indestructible liver.
"Pass. Last thing I want is an omlette with jelly beans in it," Logan can just see Wade doing something crazy with the food. It's a general distrust.
"I know yer not borin' darlin'." Logan looks at the Southern belle. Those ocean blue eyes look toward the room for a moment.
- Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane blinks and rubs her eyes tiredly at all the chatter. Finding herself a sandwich, she proceeds to the table, trying to find a quiet place to eat in peace. Deadpool's flattery gets him a slight smirk and nod before turning to regard the others in the room. Pietro has her attention the longest and she arches a slender green brow.
"Came here looking for your sister did you?" she quips, nothing bothering to add 'other' to that. They were never that close, certainly not like Lorna and Wanda at any rate. "Don't worry, she's fine. Pretty much saved the day, again.."
- Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro took a moment to eat a sandwich. Enhh. Not bad. He'd had better, but he also had bitter memories when even something so simple at this would have seemed an extravagant feast. He glared at Wade, offended by the suggestion that Lorna was a Maximoff. She was his half-sister through the man he despised most in this world. She was _barely_ related to him and he begrudged the moments he spent remembering she existed. The sandwich helped fill the void in his stomach and he had a half-dozen or so more where that one was from. Minus one that his half-sister absconded with.
"Nice to be here when we're not coming to blows." he said, recalling his days in the Brotherhood. Then he caught that most people in this room not named Deadpool looked to be fresh out of the shower and/or looking a little ragged. "Did I catch you at a bad time?" he asked, then turned to Lorna. "Why, is she here?" he asked, honestly surprised at the possibility. He thought she'd be in the Sanctum Sanctorum with her Stephen. He felt the old familiar hot stab of irritation that he didn't know where his family was, then he reminded his Romany patriarchal side that Wanda was an adult and the captain of her own fate.
Still felt irritating, though.
- Deadpool has posed:
Bacon was already in the oven, being baked, rather than fried. It made it easier to control the cooking. Deadpool could flip it, pat them down, and do it all in one go, rather than having to watch them like a hawk. It afforded him time to work the skillets. Whipping up the milk and eggs, as well as some vanilla extract, to dip the bread in for the French Toast, he got to work on that.
"If that person exists, I will find it, and kill it," he said to Rogue about who doesn't like French Toast and bacon. It was said in a serious tone. But he had to be joking, right? Right!
Back to his fake French accent, which probably irritated Logan no end, as both were from Canada. They knew what the French sounded like. He was more like the candlestick from Beauty and the Beast. "Do not worry my friend, I brought my own," and he held out a bottle that was on the counter. It even had a piece of tape over it with crayon saying 'not wine' in seven different colors.
With Logan, Pietro, and Lorna all electing for their own food, or none, Deadpool ended up making more French Toast, hashbrowns, beans, fried tomatoes, sausages, and... well, he was turning Xavier's into the newest IHOP franchise. A few minutes later, he would place a plate on the table in front of Rogue, one at an empty chair, and then brought the food in several plates, setting them on the table, "just us, Rogue, an intimate crowded breakfast." Though he had surruptiously left a stack of three plates on the table, as well as extra cutlery, in case anyone changed their mind. Though true to his word, he brought the bottle of wine to Logan, "would you care for a glass, or straight from the bottle, monsieur?"
- Rogue has posed:
"We're all much happier not having to throw down in the kitchen, makes a heck of a mess otherwise," Rogue offers Pietro, a little flash of a smile as she settles in and raising an eyebrow at Lorna's words. Seems she missed something dramatic!
Logan's reassurance? It got a smile and a little lift of her soda. "Don't you be forgettin' it either," she offers lightly before settling in to her seat in time for the eddible avalanche that was Deadpool's breakfast delivery.
His words? They got an elegant 'uh-huh' before she moved to dig in.
- Wolverine has posed:
"Lots of things went bump in the night 'round here. Lots of inhuman things. Wanda knew how to handle most o' it," Logna fills in what he heard, and saw, from the security tapes. Well, before everything ewnt haywire.
"Lots of interestin' smells on the lawn, some blood stains, Havok's gettin' patched up n' Storm had a patch job herself," that's what he knows.
"Wit' you, I don't," Logan looks back at Rogue then turns his attention between Deadpool, Havok and Pietro.
- Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane's nose wrinkles at the smell of bacon..She was about to retreat to her room and be antisocial, but damn that fool smells good. "Thanks DP, guess this is why they keep you around huh?" she smiles sardonically at them before finally addressing Rogue and Logan, "So, did y'all get back recently or you're just heavy sleepers? After the commotion outside a couple nights ago, I'm surprised everyone is so calm."
To Pietro she nods, "She was here, dunno if she stuck around to do further investigation..After helping me defend the school against a pack of red skinned, clawed demons that is.."
- Quicksilver has posed:
Ah. Demon attack. Well within the Scarlet Witch's purview. She didn't call him because she didn't need his help for something that ... not trivial, but definitely within her capabilities. "Good that she was able to assist you when you needed it." he said after a moment. And then he scarfed down another sandwich or two. His table manners were acceptable, just highly accelerated from the way normal people moved. "If she's still here, I should bring her a meal. She'll likely need it after fending off a demonic incursion." he said, looking around the kitchen for a moment. He could cook, but cooking was so _slow_. Assembling sandwiches or a charcuterie board was one thing, but applying heat to food took _forever_. And you couldn't speed it up by applying more of it, as he'd learned much to his regret when he was a much younger man. She liked light, healthy meals. Something about maintaining her girlish physique, which just made him roll his eyes. But then again when they were both children she'd unevenly divide their meals so he'd get the calories he needed to stay alive even if it meant that she went without.
He owed her for that.
But the X-Men had plenty of fruit and juices and he was fairly sure he saw croissants when he was looking to make himself something earlier. Child's play to assemble her a tray and then go looking for her.
But first things first - he had to go find his true sister, his twin. He gobbled down the rest of his sandwiches and then disappeared in a streak of blue-and-silver and a whoosh of suddenly displaced air.
- Deadpool has posed:
"Keep me around? Oh is that what that was? The stabbings, beatings, growlings, the screams in terror... yeah, that really takes me back to my childhood, right here," and he thumbed his chest over his heart, sounding like he was cracking up a little under the mask.
The bottle was placed next to Logan. Anyone looking at it would actually see it was a bottle of Chateau Lafite's 1869, which he had placed a piece of masking tape over, and written in crayon, 'not wine'. How much value had that $60,000 bottle of wine lost?
With Pietro disappearing in a whirlwind as quickly as he had arrived, and Logan probably grunting and heading off for some alcohol he could trust. Something from his own room or the corner store. It meant that there was now a mountain of food, and only three mouths to eat it, one of which was wearing a mask.
Pulling up his mask just enough to eat, Wade sat down between Lorna and Rogue, and starting piling up some food on his plate. "So, I see Pietro is getting more sociable."
