- Superman has posed:
Superman floats down in front of the Themyscira Embassey. He wants to cross paths with more Leaguers. Meeting up with Tim Drake, unexpectedly, does inspire something in Superman. And so, he begins.
The first step is Wonder Woman. Someone Superman likes to have close by. He's not sure why, but either way, Wonder Woman is a very trusted ally. Those sky blue eyes just watch and wait on this early evening. He's not sure if Wonder Woman is around. He'll just wait patiently, dressed completely in uniform. Yes, he's here and not being shy about it.
- Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince had a sense that there was Company Coming. Even as the honor guards notify her aide of the Visitor, she was already on her feet and walking toward those front doors. She is dressed for a day of Embassy Business in a smartly tailored silver-gray blouse and black suit pants. Open toed heels peek from under the hem.
Smiling up at him, she offers, "Good morning Kal. Come in?" There is no secret who she is. There's no shyness or worry about who sees Superman meeting with her or entering the embassy.
Inside her office, she looks to him again curiously. "It is good to see you. How have you been?"
- Superman has posed:
"Diana," Superman says in greeting as he greets her. He's always a little surprised that she dresses in the suit. Yes, he knows that's pretty standard for the job. Still, he's used to seeing her in armor and fighting people. So, this is such a contrast it's a surprise.
"It's good to see you. And I'm trying to be okay. Too much silence for my taste, so I'm trying to create noise and see what happens," he looks back to her. "How about you? How have you been? How has embassy life treated you?" he's curious at that. Diana has a lot of responsibilities. So, he tries not to prod too often.
- Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince smiles curiously. "Oh? That does seem unlike you to create noise." It isn't a judgment. "Is this anything that you need the assistance of an Amazon for?" she asks with a hint of amusement.
"I have been busy. Representing my nation is a privilege but it requires a lot of attention. And meetings." So many meetings. "But being able to have a voice, an influence, on the nations of the world at the UN is something I do with thankfulness. Living as proof that peace can be more than just a dream is vital to opening minds and perhaps changing the status quo. And.. I do miss my sisters, though I know that they are well and fulfilling their responsibilities as well."
- Superman has posed:
Superman smirks, "Not violently. Just making sure people are still arond," he looks at her for a moment. "Nothing that would create issues, I suspect," Superman adds.
"How has representation going?" Clark asks as he looks back. "In what ways do you want to change the world, Diana?"
- Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince smiles. "That, I can support." Touching bases. "Though we both know that stopping by to visit Bruce will stir up issues with him just on principle." Laughing softly it's clear she's joking.
"It has gone as well as one could hope. One does not slow the momentum or change the course of a charging bull elephant by trying to meet it head on. It takes a more deft hand. Or something something as mundane as a field mouse in his path. Politics and global views are no different. Directly challenging is needful at times. But often it just hardens the minds and opinions of those one wishes to sway."
At the last question she pauses. "Peace, love and understanding, Kal." She smiles wistfully. "I will always dream of a world that seeks for peaceful solutions to disputes." She pauses then recites, "Do not kill if you can wound. Do not wound if you can subdue. Do not subdue if you can pacify. Do not raise the hand at all until you have first extended it in friendship. It is the way that I was raised. And one day I believe it will help the world. But they must choose to listen."
- Superman has posed:
"Yes, but someone needs to get him out of that cave sometimes. It can't always be a Robin," Superman's joking, with a little bit of candidness sprinkled in.
"How do you make sure the poltiics don't corrupt?" he is not insinuating that she is corrupted. However, he knows some of her contemporaries from the world of man can be. And that's why he asks the question. Superman knows someone like Diana can see what he does sometimes. The advantage of the outside looking in.
"I agree with that. Peace is always the best option," but he knows some people would believe in the juxaposition of phrases like, "If you want peace, you must prepare for war."
"And what about your exploits as Wonder Woman?" he asks. The woman outside of the political realm. How Diana first showed up in the world. In some ways, Superman sees Diana as someone with three lives. She's Diana the woman, the politician and the hero. While Diana may not have a different identity for each, they're each a different facett to the person.
- Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince laughs again, "Yes. But everyone knows that bats only like to come out at night!"
THough her eyes still smile, she becomes serious at his other questions. "Society begets politics. As long as there have been civilizations it has been that way. The root of the word, civil, is the key. Politics does not, by its nature, require or imply conflict. It is human nature that introduces conflict. Greed. Lust. Selfishness. Not that those are limited to humanity. Even the gods, the creatures of the planet, can all be guilty of those negative traits. At the very basic level it is simply the state of being. To want to survive. To get ahead. These things bring us into conflict with each other. But being civil. Choosing to group together for the good of everyone. That is where lessons of generosity, acceptance, even forgiveness, should become the greater motivation for life. To make this world a better place when it is our time to pass on than when we came into it." She shrugs gently, as if she doesn't have an answer or solution beyond living as an example of What Could Be.
Should Kal have spoken his perspective that she is sort of three people in one, Diana would have laughed and agreed. As to his question, she smiles. "There have not been as many crisis these past few months. Perhaps evil has finally realized it cannot win against me?" she considers with a playful look of faux-smugness (This is a real word now. She just thought it up). "Or maybe it has just traveled elsewhere for a time. But when it does choose to reappear, I will be there."
- Superman has posed:
"Well, it's part of so many philosophers and psychologist. The origins of man and society. How two become more, that small group becomes a town and then it keeps evolving. And in that constant evolution, politics form," Superman avoids the technicalities about a call for leadership. How -that- evolves into politics, but the simplification is okay. Plus, it spares Diana another lecture. Her day has plenty of them.
"We're not that lucky, Diana," Superman doesn't believe evil gives up. Like Bruce, Clark tends to think that a equiet evil is somehow a scheming evil.
"I am happy to hear that you will be there. It's nice to know my friends are still there," he gives a soft yet sad smile. His gaze stays on the amazon. Sometimes Superman feels alone lately, so it's nice to have a constant in the form of a trusted ally. "What else are you planning? Just in general."
- Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince nods and agrees, "It's true. But it could be different. Actions, like attitudes, are a matter of choice. And it is difficult to choose correctly."
Smiling ruefully, she nods. "I know, Kal. We agree on that perspective. But I can always hope that evil has learned its lessons. Even if I know it hasn't. And I will always stand with you and the others in the League, and beyond. Because it is the right thing to do."
Considering his last question, "There are many things that need done, daily and in time. Looking after my sisters, my nation, interceeding between humanity and the gods - and the mortals that dream of being gods among their peers."
- Superman has posed:
"It can be, even for people like us," Superman admits. Even for himself, it's hard to admit that sometimes the choice is difficult. Still, he tries to do the right one.
"I hope for it. I really do, people don't know how good they can be." However, he knows it's their choice. That depends on the others.
"I hope your sisters show themselves more. I know KAra has missed some of them," he admits. Although he presumes others did, too. This isn't a subject he broached with people like Tim Drake.
- Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince smiles. "We can only show them the way, Kal. They have to choose for themselves. Being good is difficult. Cutting corners. Being careless or selfish comes easy. Everyone must face the challenge for themselves." They share many of the same opinions and beliefs after all.
Nodding she smiles, "They are missed. But they will come visit again when their duties allow for it. Till then I carry them with me in thoughts and in my heart." She tilts her head, "How is Kara? And Lois?" He has his own family after all.
- Superman has posed:
"I know. We show them the way, and hope our faith is rewarded," Superman gives a nod. He hopes everything works out with their examples.
"Kara is good, last I've seen. I haven't seen Lois in a long time. I presume she's okay," and he tries to keep his spirits up on that answer. It does sting a little to say that.
- Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana Prince smiles wistfully. "Exactly."
"I'm glad she's doing well. It has been some time since I saw her last." A soft frown follows the mention of Lois. "I'm sure that she is fine as well. She does get absorbed in her work on occasion.." A soft smile is offered for encouragement. It's a trait she and Kal and Bruce and most of the League all share in common. Focus to the point of obsession.
- Superman has posed:
"Next time we meet, Diana. I'd like to see you in uniform. The World needs to see the Justice League is still around, even if it doesn't need saving from an immediate threat," he says with a soft smile of his own. One that shows he takes that encouragement from her to heart. A look goes out toward the windows. "I appreciate the company Diana and the talk," he gives a nod of appreciation.
