Clark Kent | The first morning of the Staycation. It's ten a.m. and no story rush. Clark pads out in black jogging pants and an old football shirt. The sky blue eyes look over the living room. "Isn't this nice? No rush. No anything," Clark smiles lazily and he expects Lois to utterly hate this. Still, he is going to try and make sure Lois enjoys the much needed time off. Now, he isn't sure where Lois is at currently. He thought they got up together, but maybe he dreamed that. The sky blue eyes blink as he gets a feel for this nice slow morning. |
Lois Lane | Lois Lane got up a little after Clark, and she's just going lazily with it. Though her head is trying to tell her that she needs to get a move on, shower, get dressed, ready for the day. At some point, she manages to stop thinking about going to work. She does still take a shower. Those are important no matter what your plans for the day are. Dress pants? No. Jeans? Think more casual, Lois. Sweat pants it is - why she has a pair no one will know. And a tee shirt which is very likely Clark's as it's a few sizes too big on her but that also means it's comfy. She walks out from the bedroom and into the living area before glancing to the kitchen. "Shall I put some coffee on?" |
Clark Kent | Clark doesn't join in the shower. He just gives Lois space. Now, she wears Clark's shirts, but usually at night. Seeing Lois out in the morning light like that, he smiles. "Looking good Lane," Clark tries to encourage her. A few nods come from, "I would like that. How are you feeling?" he knows there may be an adjustment on her part still. It's nice to see her trying to embrace this. |
Lois Lane | "Eat your heart out, Smallville." Lois quips at him with a grin before shifting to head into the kitchen and start the coffee maker. "I'm feeling okay. Still getting used to not needing to rush out the door right now because I'm horribly late. Maybe that will adjust tomorrow or something." She offers this and then moves to grab two mugs from the cabinet. "Breakfast?" |
Clark Kent | Clark wolf whistles and then the coffee maker starts. "You're not late. And we can get whatever you want. Soemthing you'll enjoy," he smiles. "Wherever you need me to go," he offers knowing that he could anywhere in the world, literally. Yes, Clark would do that for Lois. |
Lois Lane | "Ah but it's not the same time somewhere else in the world as it is here..." Lois says this, blushing from the wolf whistle Clark gave her. "Which then gives me an idea..." Turning to face him again. "Dinner for breakfast. But you have to go to London and go to a place called Golden Chippy. Yes, that's a place. They have the -best- fish and chips with mushy peas. Malt vinegar and HP Sauce is also a must...." She tilts her head a little then. "Oh, Smallville, you might have opened up a nice can of whoops for yourself." She grins then. |
Clark Kent | Clark raises a brow as Lois's words start to trail into a thought. One he fails to grasp right away. Then it tumbles forward. A smile pulls at his lips. "You act like I wouldn't do that if you asked," Clark grins and he takes out the phone putting in a note. Clark blurs and is gone. Yes, Clark's gone for a good thirty minutes. He's back with everything as requested, even extra Malt Vinegar and HP sauce. For himself he has chips and chicken battered in the same stuff. A grin on his face as he hands her the Golden Chippy meal. "Breakfast is served," he'll even bow. Blurring again, then he's back in sweats. |
Lois Lane | Lois Lane blinks as he blurs out of sight and then she simply grins. While he's gone, she gets the table set because they will still eat like civilized beings, and she makes sure the coffee is still piping hot when he returns. As the meal is divided she'll look as he blurs again before he's once again in sweats. "You spoil me, Clark. You really do." Offering this as she sets out the meals and then turns to lean in and offer him a tender kiss against his lips. "Let's enjoy then..." |
Clark Kent | "I don't view it as spoiling," he looks at her for a moment. Taking his chicken and going to get the ketchup. Giving her a tender kiss back. "You got it Miss Lane," Clark winks and he settles down to eat. "Tell me something Lois. What's a place you always wanted to visit?" because they could vacation anywhere. Even if it's just spending a night somewhere else. It could just be the two of them somewhere. "What are you thinking Lane?" he asks and then sips at the coffee. A slow closing of the eyes as he savors the taste as the familiar warmth runs down his throat. |
Lois Lane | "What do you view it as then?" Lois asks, a single brow raising as she watches him from over the rim of the coffee mug she then sips from. Her fish are doctored with the lemon wedge they come with and splashed with malt vinegar. The HP Sauce is squeezed into a ramiken she grabbed from the kitchen as that was for chip dipping. Chips being fries, in this case. "Greece. Specifically Athens. So much history there and I would love to explore it all. Not even for a piece just...for myself." Course now that it's out there she can't take it back and she has to wonder just what is on Clark's mind having asked it. She likely may well find out. Then she smiles. "Breakfast from London. Dinner from France. Cause I would definitely make you fly to the other side of the world again to get me a hot, fresh croissant made in the city of love..." A light laugh comes from her then. "Course the way this is going, we might as well just go spend the week in Europe." She's kidding. Of course. |
Clark Kent | "Taking care of you. No different than getting you Big Belly Burger," Clark says matter of factly. "To me, it's just going to the other side of town," and he brings a tender to his lips. That smile widens on his face. The taste practically magical. "Such a very good idea Lois," Clark says after he enjoys the first bite. "Well, I'm thinking about our next vacation. I imagine you wouldn't be able to hide it going to antoher country. So, maybe we could actually plan it. Get you used to a vacation. Kind of like this is training for when you're in Greece," that's how Clark sees it. Because he could see Lois trying to report in Greece despite having all the history around her. This is him trying to make Lois smell the roses. |
Lois Lane | There seems to be a visible release of tension when Clark says he's planning their next vacation. A part of her really scared that he was going to suddenly whisk her away to Greece after breakfast. This wasn't going to happen. That's fine. "We aren't even done with this one you're trying to plan the next?" She chides gently and then shakes her head, taking a bite of her filet. Eyes roll into the back of her head and she lets out a little moan from that bite. "Oh my gosh. This...this is so good. I haven't had this in so long." Military life. She was likely in London a time or two. This just takes her back to those times. "But I'll play, Smallville. We'll plan the next vacation, and use this one as a sort of training." This and then she focuses on her food, eating for pleasure as well as for sustenance. |
Clark Kent | "Because taking you to Greece today may be too intense for vacation one," Clark says, showing Lois that her instincts are dead on. Yes, Clark did give that some thought before deciding against it. Taking another bite of the chicken finger. He listens, "Happy to bring this back into your life," Clark smiles openly. That's a warm moment for him. Connecting Lois to some distant memory. "I like this side of you, Lois," Clark says honestly. Liking her actually enjoying something for the sake of enjoyment. |
Lois Lane | Lois Lane smiles after several moments of just enjoying her meal. Then she looks up and sits back. "Okay. If I eat any more I'm going to explode. I'll have to box these up for left overs." She says this and then stands as if to do just that. At least with her own meal. It's very likely Clark devoured his if only because he has to in order to keep up ... well ... himself. "And yes. Taking me to Greece today would have been intense. So I appreciate the thought and admire the decision against it." She offers as she goes to put things up in the kitchen. And now... well. Now what? The apartment is clean - Lois insists. There's no work to do. There's...nothing. Except nothing isn't something and Lois wants to be doing something and... okay. Breathe. That's it. In and out. Good girl. "So...now what?" |
Clark Kent | Clark's just enjoying chicken. Sky blue eyes just savoring the meal. Yes, he's devoured it. A ndo comes from him asshe talks about left overs. "Well, have you put off a movie, a show, a puzzle, a hobby for stories? I know you have. Now is the day you have time for them. So, tell me what you've put off," he's expecting Lois to have older movies she may want to watch. Something like that. Lois seems tense, but he doesn't do anything sudden. Clark just smiles and nods with approval as he sees Lois isn't running to the Planet. That's a very good sign. |
Lois Lane | "I'd like to maybe watch Gone With the Wind while putting together a couple of puzzles I have in the closet." Lois spouts off before she even has time to think about it. Time to come up with an excuse, or something else to distract from the obvious. Then she sort of just smiles. "I'd like to do those things. With you. If you're keen, Smallville.." |
Clark Kent | Pause. He didn't expect her to list off Gone with the Wind. Also, he did not picture her to have a bunch of puzzles piling up. "What kind of puzzles?" he's curious about photos, piece count and that sort of thing. A smile pulls at his lips, "Will you be there? Then I'd probably like to do it with you," he gives a soft smile. |
Lois Lane | Lois Lane sighs. Well. The truth was likely bound to come out some time. Lois actually abandons her half eaten 'breakfast' to go into the hallway where a single closet is. She comes back with three puzzles. Two 500 piece sets and one 1000 piece set. "Gone With the Wind is one of my favorite movies. I've never watched it with anyone else that wasn't family...but I think that should change. Maybe I'll give this whole stay-cation a real try, Clark. It could very well be a good thing. And movies and puzzles will keep my mind occupied enough I may not think about work at all. If much." |
Clark Kent | "Well, technically I am family. Technically," Clark says softly, just trying to assure her that he's just not someone with the last name of Lane. However, marriage does make someone family. They talked about marriage at some point. So, he's not exactly a stranger. "I would like to see the movie. And I promise not to move at super human speeds," those sky blue eyes watching her. His gae on her for a moment. His gaze stays on her for a moment. Seeing how Lois would like this. "You pick the puzzle. I say the one with the most interesting photo," he smiles at her. |
Lois Lane | Lois Lane smiles. "Technically. Yes." She says this and then shakes her head. "I think we'll try the largest puzzle first." It has a picture of colored pencils in a circle, their tips meeting at the center of the puzzle. When he mentions not moving at super human speeds, she actually laughs. "I think you might even find puzzles relaxing, if not a bit frustrating. There's a trick to it, you know... I can teach you." |
Clark Kent | "Kind of like that famous painting of two hands drawing themselves," and Clark smiles at her. "Well, I try to keep my mind sharp," he says knowing that it would be easier said than done for him. Like taking things slow, trying to slow down thinking, movements, all of it. Those sky blue eyes look at her for a moment. "I would welcome the lesson," Clark hope he isn't cranky by the time the puzzle is done. |
