Shiloh | There's a few tables occupied by some people who are enjoying a sweet treat, a cup of something hot and soothing, and taking at least a little time out of the cold that has snapped in New York. The bakery isn't full, per se, but Shiloh's been doing some pretty good business lately and that makes her feel better day after day - like she's finally found her lot in life. Well. One lot anyway. Currently the baker who wears black jeans, a black tee shirt and black apron with The Dark Side's logo on the front is sweeping around where customers aren't sitting. It's slowed down now that it's reached late morning and isn't quite lunch time yet. So she's trying to keep up appearances while waiting for what might be the next round of busy-ness. |
Willow | Willow had been here before. Once. And she was certain that Harry liked.. what cookie was it? Cookie? Bun? Sandwich? Drats. She couldn't remember it now. So much of her behaviour was infiltrated with the beginning of Dark Willow. Thanks to Rack.. Speaking of, she could not recall where he was. Just as well, no sense tempting herself. She's been Willow for such a wee time post DW.. Looking at the display case, she was lost in thought. |
Blueblood | Blueblood has gently become a regular, as he always seems to have some nebulous job for the city like de-icing sidewalks or meter-maintenance. His practice of blending into the background, today, consists of hands bent into multi-angled squeegees. He patiently and thoroughly scrapes the street-facing window of the bakery free from frost and dirt. *dunk, SQUEEET. dunk, SQUEEET.* |
Shiloh | Shiloh looks up as the door chimes and she raises a brow as Willow just walks in. "Hey! Willow right? H-how are you? And... uhm... does Harry know you're...around?" Which might be the most interesting line of questions - unless you know what crowds Shiloh runs in. She shifts to finish sweeping real quick and brings broom and dust pan back behind the counter. A quick wash of hands and then she's drying them as she comes up to the counter. "Thoughts on what you might like?" Blu has been...possibly spotted? She at least realizes her windows are being cleaned. That'll earn him a free something for sure. |
Willow | Willow blinks as she is recognized, and giggles. "Why should I get Harry permission for anything?" Not realizing that that might not be the way to answer that question, even if it is perfectly legitimate - given her recent sojourn as Dark Willow. Then, again, Willow doesn't know that Harry had been looking for her when she was Dark Willow.. "I think he's on a job? Me, it's Christmas vacation before the last semester of my Mas.. well, the last semester." It occurred to Willow not everyone gives a damn about education, and some people would think she was bragging. "I wanted to buy something that Harry bought here, to take of home for the New Year, but I forget what it could be? I make cookies, but I haven't had time this season to bake. Do you remember what it was he liked?" It was worth a try! |
Blueblood | Blueblood finishes the job, coming in to towel off his hands. 'No bones, wash-and-wring, bones again.' Flick, flick, flick! His order's the same as ever? 'Black coffee,' to which he invariably adds his own sugar. The occasional "test donut" or "misshapen pastry," as warped gremlin bread is good for warped gremlin-men. |
Shiloh | "Oh. No...no that's not what I meant a'tall..." Shiloh's accent getting a bit thicker as she tries to correct herself. Explain herself? Something. "No just...some time ago...maybe a month or so back? Harry came in asking me if I had seen you or if you had come by. Course, I hadn't, but I told him I'd let him know if I did... and now here you are. Have you...seen Harry recently?" Then Willow is explaining things and Shiloh gives a soft smile. "Oh right. Well, always nice to have a break from shovin' learnin' into the head, innit?" Another question and then Shiloh's eyes are narrowing a bit in thought. "Uhm...I think he actually likes the signature cookies of the bakery. How many do you want?" The question hangs as Blu comes in, washes hands, asks for his usual coffee and illegitimate pastry. Shiloh goes to get the coffee in a to-go cup, leaving room for his sugar and slips a few pastries into a bag for him. "Buck fifty, Blu. As usual." |
Blueblood | Blueblood pays, tips. "Security good? Russian mob, Chinese triad, Intergang all leaving you be?" He checks the corners of the establishment for Shiloh's security cameras? If any? I/R sensors? 'Exotic' equipment? |
Willow | Willow spares a smile for Blueblood. A real smile. It's one one her quirks - everybody is judged by the same metric. In other words if he is nice, he is treated nice. some of her dearest friends started out as demons and the like. Much to some people's dislike. Ahem. As Shiloh explains what she had meant, Willow winces. "Oh. That. I'm back. I've.. apologized profusely to him. Buffy. Thomas.. Faith.. Wanda.. oh goddess. Lots of people.. wait a minute. Should I be apologizing to you, too? It was a bit fuzzy when the break happened." As for the cookies, Willow perks up. "Those ones! There's something in them I can't duplicate." She was a whiz with chocolate chip cookies. And barely could get oatmeal cookies edible now - after years of praticing. Anything else was a crap shoot, and she knew it. "Can I have two dozen, please?" |
Shiloh | Shiloh shakes her head. "No. No I don't need any apologies. I mean, I was worried, sure... but you and I had only met the once so...I think Harry just knew you knew he liked some of the cookies here and would come by." Shiloh explains this further before her gaze goes to Blu. "Everything's fine. I got security cameras. And a Remy. And a Sam. Maybe a Sinister." Shiloh pops off a few names just because she could. Her attention goes back to Willow. "Oh. You bake?" She asks while grabbing a box and giving her two baker's dozen. So 26 cookies total. "Yeah. Personal recipe. Likely wouldn't be able to crack it unless you came and made some batches every once in a while. Couple for the store and one or two for you to take home." |
Blueblood | Blueblood nods. "Sam and I were here just the other day. I didn't know he was 'security.'" He snorts amusement? "Silly me, thinking you wouldn't have arrangements made. In this neighborhood. In this town." He watches Willow's cookies trade hands? Perhaps his super-power is sussing out secret ingredients in cookie recipes: He is... THE TASTER. |
Willow | "Mr Sinister? I know him. He used to pop over and visit the Magic Box.. oh gosh, almost two years ago. He doesn't come by anymore." Willow shrugs. When Shiloh offers a deal, she nads it, fast enough in case Shiloh wasn't really offering the deal. And then, she adds, "I'm really bad at every kind of cookies except chocolate chips. I'm not very good at potions in general. Well, in the past I wasn't very good at them. I've had some one-on-one tutoring." With Tala. She doesn't mention her name though. She was somewhat edging to the black sorts of magic. |
Shiloh | "Well. Yes. Sort of. Sam keeps an eye out when he's here." Honestly. Shiloh could be her own security if she needed to be. No one in present company knows who she is or what she does when night falls. She's just the friendly neighborhood baker. Then her attention is back on Willow. "Well. What better place to learn and hone your baking skills than at a bakery? Just...whenever you have free time. My only ask is that the few recipes that are mine...stay at the bakery. I mean, you can make them, take some home. Just don't make them if you're not here..." She's only got a few of those secret recipes - for now anyway. Once she has enough, and maybe publishes a book, she'll obviously be more lax on that one rule. "If the bakery is open, you can come use the kitchen. I don't mind." |
Blueblood | Blueblood *handsups.* "Offer is for friendly lady. Nobody wants Ladi breaking in at 3:00 am to boil cabbage for schchi." |
Willow | That comment causes Willow to giggle. "I haven't got time enough to fit Harry in somedays without bumping something else! You wouldn't believe me if I listed my days for you." Still, Shiloh had made the offer yet again! How could Willow ignore such a great deal! "Are you open early, or really late?" She thought she could squeeze a couple of lessons in that way! Once again she smiles at Blu. "Would you like a cookie:? Maybe a dozedn.. with do they have another dozen?" Maybe she should find out before she offered! |
Shiloh | "I start baking as early as 4am so I can have what I should need for the say by the time I open." Shiloh offers to Willow with a smile. "If you see a light on in the back, I'm likely there." A glance to Blu and she chuckles. "If you ever want to boil cabbage let me know." |
