Clark Kent A clear afternoon in Metropolis. Summer's last few gasps make the mornings feel like fall, but the afternoons come off like spring. Warmth rushes through the area along with a gentle breeze, mostly clear blue skies and nearly picture perfect conditions.

People needing help, trouble, that never takes a vacation. And there's a small trend with Superman. When Clark Kent's life feels empty, Superman's become busy. The sightings increase.

One moment the Metropolis national bank has three robbers burst in. A few warning shots, screams and the first set of orders come. Before the second set can ome there's a blue and red blur that comes in. By the time it stops Superman has trio bound by some of the metal signage.

He'll turn to the group, "This will hold them until the police come," he gives a smile. "Is everyone okay?" Once he has confirmation, he'll nod to the group. "Well, duty calls." And that's part of a lie.

Next is cat in a tree, the manages to bring down for an old woman. "Here's your cat," and then he's off to tackle another task. It's all sort of like a boy scout with ADHD and red bull in their veins.

Superman's first stories spread like this because Clark Kent was new to the city. So, it's not uncommon to those not paying attention.

And speaking of not paying attention, Superman isn't. Well he is, but not actively. Someone's falling from the skies. He's there to catch them, but normally the man would have been faster.

It's before reaching the falling figure that the first hint. Almost like a ghost from his past. He ignores it, figures that's just in his head. Wishful thoughts, nothing else.

But then he's holding the person. Suddenly everything slows for him. A man that can brush against the speed force and burst through surfaces with brute strength. Yet everything can slow because that's Lois Lane's super power. She can slow Superman's world.

Once he catches her, there's an actual pause. All the energy to move, zip and do everything comes to a sudden hault. The red cape swishes. It hasn't even dawned on him that Lois is okay...and he caught her midfall.
Lois Lane All the news will be alighted with stories of Superman saving people, and cats, while in the line of his normal duty. When he manages to catch Lois, and time for them slows down, she looks at him with a little smile. "There you are. You seemed so busy... I wanted to get your attention..." Of course whenever he snaps out of the slowed time, he'll realize that Lois is actually okay. Not a scratch on her. And she's just smiling in that way she has.
Clark Kent "You-," his brain needs a moment to kick back on. Superman looks at her, "You could have called," he manages. They float there for a moment before he starts to fly off, not the fast pace as before. Something a little more paced, and a lot safer on Lois. And she knows his world just got rocked a little bit. Lois blind sided him, and probably in a good way.
Lois Lane Lois Lane lets out a laugh. "I could have..." She begins, leaning in to press a kiss against his cheek. "But that hardly keeps you on your toes, Smallville.." Adding that nickname she has for him in for good measure. Noting they aren't flying as fast as he likely could, but that might be a good thing she should be thankful for. "Mmmn... and hoping your night has come to an end...maybe you can take me home?"
Clark Kent "No. No it doesn't," he gives a small genuine smile. "I can take you home," the flight is slow, but more safe for her. He'll land in the apartment with the big window. And yes, Clark Kent lives here, too. He's been so in and out, Superman feels a little odd. Not in a bad way. "Reminds me of when I visited your apartment, in the old days." Back when they didn't live together, let alone be close to anything like they are now. The sparks of attraction, but a curiousity, too. "Are you alright, Miss Lane?" he'll ask, echoing some of the questions from the past for a moment.
Lois Lane As they land, Lois gives another smile. "One of these days I hope it will feel more like you're landing where you're living, Smallville." She quips and as he sets her down, she'll straighten her clothes and gives a soft chuckle. "I'm perfectly fine... you were faster than a taxi ever could be." She considers. "Likely safer too." Then she turns to the window before glancing back to him. "Would you like to come inside? I can make you a cup of tea. Perhaps dinner?"
Clark Kent "I'm..." then he nods. "I would like that, but I can't," Superman says and starts to fly off. However, as quick as he's gone, there's a knock at the door. It takes about a good three to five minutes. Clark Kent is on the other side of the door. That light gray suit, matching vest and red tie, he doesn't look too bad. However, he straightens himself.
Lois Lane Lois Lane rolls her eyes and then steps in through the window. It was likely planned the whole time cause the window was unlocked and - now that she's home - she's locked it again. She also draws the curtains and begins to walk towards the kitchen. Just about then is when the knock on her door comes and she goes to unlock and open the front door. "Forget your key, Smallville?" Asking this as she turns and walks away but leaves the door open for him to walk through.
Clark Kent "No, Mi--Lois. I'm-Uh old habits," Clark gives a bashful look. "It's been a bit," Clark says honestly as he gets used to the now. "And I felt like we first met a few moments ago," at least Clark isn't denying the same person. "Do you need help with anything?" he asks and goes into the kitchen. One thing Lois will always note is the glasses. Clark slumps when he wears those glasses. Signs of bad posture. She can break that by remove the glasses.
Lois Lane Lois Lane sighs gently and shakes her head. "Only if you can make up my mind on what I want for dinner. I'm almost convinced to just order something in..." She turns to him then, giving a tilt of her head, watching him walk in behind her. Glasses. He always wears them when he's in the suit and tie - trying to keep up appearances between the man and the hero. Stepping towards him, she lifts her hands to gently pull the glasses off his face. "You don't have to hide yourself here, Clark. You'll learn to remember this, I hope."
Clark Kent Clark nods. "Well, Pizza's the standard and who doesn't like pizza?" he asks honestly. Then she snags those glasses and pull them off. Dull blue eyes are now bright sky blue. The trick, how the lenses dull that blue. He'll stand up straight. "I'm sorry. You felt like you were going to be gone longer. I....I slipped into old habits," he admits honestly. The gaze looks down as Clark does feel bad about that. "We might need some time in."
Lois Lane Lois Lane blinks and then gently closes the glasses and shifts to grab the case she's always got on top of the fridge. The glasses fit perfectly. "I'm sorry too, Clark. I didn't mean to be gone as long as I was...especially not without telling you. We both fell into old habits...but we'll climb back out and do better next time.." She offers and then smiles. "Pizza sounds good. Do you mind ordering it? I can set up the living room and we can have pizza and drinks and watch a movie or two..." Stepping closer to him again, she lifts a hand to press against his chest, but she doesn't speak again just yet.
Clark Kent "Always trying to do better," Clark smiles softly and holds her close. "I think that's part of why we like each other. The -good- old habits. It's more of praise for her, and chiding for him. "I don't mind. And that sounds like a good eveening Lois," he admits. "What do you want on the pizza," he'll ask before taking off into another room with the phone to place that order.

Afterward, he'll come back out and look to see where Lois had gone. "It'll be a good thirty mintues. Maybe forty five," pizza is popular and Metropolis is quite large."
Lois Lane "Pepperoni and green bell peppers..." Lois offers, as sometimes her wants on her pizza change slightly. She figures he'll get his usual meat lovers, and she'll likely steal a slice of his. As it always works out. As far as drinks go. She knows he doesn't drink alcohol - so it's the bottle of tea from the fridge. Nice, cold and sweet. The way it was made back in Smallville. Then she'll work on setting up the couch like an enclosed bed of sorts, tossing in pillows and blankets for them.

All of it is done by the time he's back and telling how long the pizza will be. "You should have ordered it for pick up. You'd be faster. But... that might be abusing your powers a bit I feel.." She smirks then.
Clark Kent "But doesn't that mean less time with you?" Clark points out. It's a technicality. The time get to the pizza would be time away," it is technically correct. However, it's minus a few minutes to get pizza much sooner. "So....," his voice trails as he gets comfortable.
Lois Lane "I suppose it does... except if you go get the pizza it means we get to start all of this sooner. Who gets pizza delivered in the middle of a movie?" Lois says this with a cheeky grin and then watches as Clark gets comfortable. "...So?" She repeats. "What are you thinking, Smallville?"
Clark Kent Clark just playfully glowers at her. "I'm thinking we should pick a movie and go from there, Metropolis." He chuckles a little bit, "All the times I get you pizza, and wings from other states. Today is the day you complain I want to stay close," he's clearly playing around, holding her closer as he does.
Lois Lane "Don't you give me that look..." Lois chides him playfully and then laughs as he continues his thought. "Yeah yeah... I'm actually glad for this time with you." She adds herself. "I've missed you." Then he's holding her closer and she nestles in. "What movie should I put on?"
Clark Kent "I missed you, more than you know," he holds Lois a little closer. "Something funny. I think we need a laugh." Kissing her head he just breathes out. Clark won't say it, but he feels more like himself today. Yes, there is still the urge to save people. However, sometimes Superman needs aving, too.
Lois Lane "I think I might have an idea of how much.." Lois says and then smiles gently as he kisses the top of her head. "Something funny...maybe a little romantic comedy?" Asking this even as she turns on a movie. She snuggles more into him. Pizza, movie, and company. What more could anyone ask for?
