Peter Parker | Peter Parker stepped into Knotty and Nice, the air filled with the scent of shampoo, and the hum of blow dryers. The interior was bright, with sleek, modern decor, with wooden accents and colorful artwork lining the walls. Stylish chairs were arranged around stations, each equipped with mirrors reflecting the vibrant atmosphere. At the reception desk, a cheerful woman named Mia greeted him with a warm smile. Her dark hair was styled in loose waves, and she wore a colorful apron. "Welcome! You must be Peter. Buffy told us all about you!" To the right, a tall stylist named Jason was expertly curling a client's hair. His hands moved with precision, and he chatted easily, making the client laugh. On the left, a petite stylist named Lila was giving a fresh haircut, her focus intense as she snipped away, occasionally glancing at her client with a friendly smile. Peter felt a mix of curiosity and excitement. He was definitely not used to this side, "So, where's Buffy?" he asked Mia. |
Buffy Summers | "In the back getting ready for a rinse. You can do on back if you like. Just around the partician at the sinks. You can't miss them." Mia had that professional smile on as she shared the information. Then she waved him on as she turned to greet the next person. And should he follow those directions, he would soon come to what may seem like a sci-fi nightmare to someone untrained in such things. Buffy was indeed by the sinks. Although currently, her hair was mostly hidden. She'd was in the process of getting some highlights done. Thus, her hair was in layers and layers of foil. She probably could pick up the local radio station at this moment. "Peter!" The sound of her voice was both surprise and a bit of horror. "Is it 1:30 already?" She tried to spot the clock on the wall but it was at a bad angle so invisible to her. "It is. We are running a little behind due to Ms. Jones before you," her stylist, Sophie, said apologetically. Buffy closed her eyes then counted to ten before opening then and smiling to Peter. "It was supposed to be done before you saw me. But welcome to what we women do to ourselves." She waved a hand at her head. Which Sophie was beginning to remove the various bits of foil and tossing them into a bin nearby for that purpose. |
Peter Parker | Peter couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Buffy wrapped in foil like some kind of futuristic art installation. It was a stark contrast to the confident, strong young woman he knew. "Wow, you really do go all out for your hair," he said. Stepping closer, awkwardly shifting his weight as he took in the bizarre scene. "This is what it takes to look amazing all the time?" He glanced around the room, noting how relaxed everyone else seemed despite the strange procedures. The other clients chatted easily with their stylists. Peter felt a little out of place, like he had wandered into a world where he didn't quite belong. But seeing Buffy's smile made him want to understand it all a bit more. "So, um, how long does this take? Is this a regular thing for you?" |
Buffy Summers | "I mean I'm luckily a natural blonde. But I did opt to treat myself to some highlights so this is just lightening some areas to give that effect. Should be ...maybe ten minutes more?" Buffy glanced to Sophie who nodded in agreement as she continued to expertly unfold and remove each piece of foil. Leaving Buffy's hair sitting there wet looking but nothign really standing out. It was more a matter of needing to get the bleach out of her hair before it got to be too much and damaged it. "Just a matter of rinsing and a wash. I as planned on letting it dry naturally. Since it is a bit of a trip back over to Sunnydale. But Sophie is the best so worth the trip." That got a murmured thanks and a slight look of embarassment from Sophie. Soon the foil was gone and she laid back the chair, allowing Buffy to rest her head in the little U-Shaped spot made for that on the sink. Then the rinsing would begin. "You can wait here or go back up front. Get a soda or something?" Buffy said perhaps slightly overly loud as she had the sound of the water in her ears now. |
Peter Parker | Peter nodded, appreciating the glimpse into Buffy's routine. "Yeah, I'll grab us a couple," he said, quickly heading back to the front. Once he got to the reception area, he picked up two cans of Coca-Cola. Returning to the back, he found Buffy, her hair draped around her like a wet curtain. "Here you go!" he said, handing her a can. "I thought we could both use a little caffeine boost." He took a sip of his own soft dirnk, trying to ignore the flutter in his stomach. "So, uh, do you think I should do something with my hair?" he asked, rubbing the back of his neck. "I mean, it's kind of... well, plain, right? What would you recommend?" He felt a bit bold for asking, "I mean, if you're up for it, I trust your judgment," he added, trying to sound casual. "You always have such great style. Maybe I could get some highlights too? Or just a trim?" His cheeks warmed, and he quickly took another sip, hoping to play it cool. |
Buffy Summers | It didn't take long for the rinse to be completed and Buffy was soon sitting up again with Sophie checking her hair to be sure she hadn't missed anything. A little fluff here and there. "You sure you don't want me to style it for you?" she asked Buffy. "I mean I think I'm good and you are already behind from the previous appointment. It'll let you make up that time." ""I do have a half hour free so could." Buffy accepted the Coke and popped the top to take a quick sip before considering Peter's question. "I mean you could do some lighter highlights but I think your hair color is great as is." She looked to Sophie who was now eyeing Peter. "May I?" she asked as she moved closer, fingers held at the ready as she considered. Buffy remained seated and watched Sophie's inspection. "I would think just a little trim. Maybe some layering if you wanted to go that far but might be a bit much." Sophie was nodding. "Just a trim, tidy it up a little. Looks like it might be a little overdue looking at this neckline." |
Peter Parker | Peter felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as he listened to Buffy and Sophie discuss his hair. "A trim sounds good," he said, glancing at his reflection, and noticing how messy it had gotten. "Definitely overdue, huh?" He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "I guess it's about time I take care of myself a bit more." Sophie stepped closer, her fingers hovering near his hair. Peter tried to relax, but the lightness of the moment made it hard to keep his cool. "Next thing you know, I'll be in for a manicure and pedicure too," he joked, letting out a laugh that was half nervous, half genuine. "Who knew self-care could be this fun?" He shot a quick glance at Buffy, hoping to see her smile at his attempt to be playful. |
Buffy Summers | "I mean the highlights would be fun just to see what sort of reception you get from the voil," Buffy teased. But she did return a smile to him at his comment. "While yes, getting your hair washed by someone else is literally the best feeling ever, this isn't even the tip of the beauty iceberg. But if you like, I'll schedule us both for a full spa day. Including a mani-pedi for each of us. Then you'll see that there is some spoilage involved in the beauty." Buffy glanced to Sophie. "If he's up for it, could you get his trim done in 30?" Sophie nodded. "Easily. If you're up for it...Was it Peter?" "Peter, Sophie. Sophie, Peter." And Buffy was hopping out of the chair after the introductions were done. She still had the smock on that kept her clothes safe from all the hair treatment and didn't bother removing it since her hair was still damp. Buffy glanced to Peter. "Wanna give it a go? If so, we can move over to her station. I'll hang with you while it's done if that's okay. And if you're good, she might even give you a lollipop. Speaking of..." She gave Sophie an expectant look. |
Peter Parker | Peter couldn't help but grin at Buffy's playful suggestion about the highlights. "A spa day sounds like a blast," he replied, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "I mean, if it involves lollipops, how can I say no?" He watched as she hopped out of the chair, the smock still hanging on her shoulders, and it struck him how effortlessly cool she looked, even in the middle of a hair treatment. As he moved over to Sophie's station, he noticed the chair Buffy had just vacated was still warm. It felt oddly comforting, a reminder of their shared moment. Settling into the seat, he looked up at Buffy and Sophie, "So, do you have time for those highlights after I get my trim?" he asked, "if it's not too much trouble." |
Buffy Summers | "I won't be able to do the highlights today but check with Mia at reception and she can schedule you later this week," Sophie offered. Once in the chair, she pushed the pedal at the bottom to start raising the height of the chair bit by bit until he was at a level that worked well for her. A smock was put around his shoulders, laying over the front of him, so any trimmed hair would not go down onto-or worse into--his clothes. "Anything specific you do normally or would like" she asked. And once she had her answer, Sophie went to work. "Buffy, help yourself." And with that, Buffy was opening a little drawer on the station and pulling out a cheap plastic wrapped lollipop from the bowl hidden within. The drawer was closed and she ripped of the cover. "We'll figure out a good day next month for a full spa day. When you're done." And with that, she popped the sugary treat into her mouth. |
