Shiloh | Early morning. All the baking is done, everything is freshly stored in the display case, and the open sign is just being turned on. The bakery itself smells of dough, chocolate and coffee - all in a perfect balance somehow. Shiloh then unlocks the door, flips the door sign to the open side as well and then turns to head back behind the counter. Often times there's a small waiting period. Sometimes she's got a few regulars now who will be there right as she opens. But the lights are on, the shelves are stocked and the coffee is freshly brewed. She's ready for business. |
Nick Drago | As soon as Shiloh steps away from the door, there is the sound of it opening. Coming in with a business card in hand, the blond man turns his head to glance around the place. Initial assessment made the man walks over to the display case to look to what is available. His attire appears to be casual- In the 'I paid way more than a man should for a tee' type of manner. But despite the 'relaxed' attire, his expression seems a bit more reserved. "Morning." He greets, not looking up as he looks to the items being offered. "Hmm..." |
Shiloh | "Morning! Welcome to The Dark Side." Shiloh offers even as the man is studying the display case. There are four cupcakes on offer. 'Sweet Tooth' , 'Kiss of Death' , 'Caffeine Dream' and 'Vanilla Raspberry'. Cookies include the standard variety chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, snickerdoodles, and the named 'The Dark Side'. Cakes, breads, and kolaches are now on the menu as well. She's still trying to work out how to offer sandwiches and the like. "My name's Shiloh. If you have any questions, do let me know. But...feel free to look around as you like. Can I get you a cup of coffee while you browse? On the house." |
Nick Drago | The man glances up, looking over to Shiloh, giving her a smile. "Sure. I'm not one to turn down coffee." He looks to the display studying the names. "Hmm. How often do you rotate out flavors?" |
Shiloh | "Every couple weeks or so. I usually have samples of the next flavor I'd like to rotate in, but I didn't get to making a batch of them just yet." Shiloh answers while she moves to go pour a cup of coffee. "Sugar or cream? Or honey?" Asking this while she pauses to wait for an answer. "However, if there's a flavor combination you're hunting for - I can likely do a custom order for you." |
Nick Drago | "Black." The man responds, "...unless you feel that particular brew needs something to alter the taste." While the words seem like a joke, the tone seems more inquisitive. "What does Sweet Tooth taste like?" |
Shiloh | "No I think the brew will speak for itself once you taste it. It'll also kick you in the ass cause it's a brand called Death Wish. This is their blueberry vanilla blend. Which one wouldn't think would taste good as a coffee, but I enjoy it..." Shiloh sets the cup on top of the display case for Wade to grab when he wishes. "Sweet Tooth. It's a cinnamon carmel swirled vanilla cake with a toffee buttercream icing." |
Nick Drago | "Hmm." The man looks to the cup before reaching over to take it. "Sweet Tooth seems appropriately named." He comments, bringing up the cup to sniff at the coffee. It's not quite cooled down enough for drinking. Unlike the drink, he does NOT have a death wish. "How long have you been in business?" |
Shiloh | Shiloh has to think on that last question. "Coming up on about...six months I think? Something like that. Not very long at all." And, of course, there's that thick London accent she's not gotten - and likely will never get - rid of yet. "So still fresh on the market but.. I've gotten some decent foot traffic. Word of mouth. Passed out a few business cards..." Which now that she's looking at him for conversation, she notices the card he's holding. "Oh hey. That's my card. Who'd you get it from if you don't mind me asking?" |
Nick Drago | As she brings up the card in his hand, the man cracks a slight smile. "Friend of mine. Awhile back. Brought a few samples to share with me." The card is palmed as he extends a pointer finger to gesture to Caffeine Dream. "I believe that was one of the offerings." He glances to the front of the shop and then back to Shiloh. "Just happens I was in the area and I thought I should get a closer look." |
Shiloh | Shiloh beams a little smile. "Wonderful! I believe I remember the one who bought a few to take back somewhere. Oh I am so glad you enjoyed them enough to stop by..." Even if the excuse is having been 'in the area', it does her heart good. "Ah, yeah. Caffeine Dream is pretty popular, I actually never rotate it out. It's made with the same branded coffee - just a regular blend instead of flavoured so I don't compromise the taste of the cake over all. And chocolate. Cause they pair well together. Ahm...oh and then Kiss of Death is actually my spiced chocolate cake. That one rotates but it's the same base flavor, just the spice level will change. That one has, ah, habanero..." She nods then. |
Nick Drago | Venturing a chance to taste the coffee, the blond carefully sips it before lowering the cup, considering it. "...Do you sell this just by the cup?" |
Shiloh | "How else would you like to buy it? I can make gallon sized coffee to-go carriers. And if you really want, I might part with a bag of the grounds themselves." Shiloh smiles. "Gives me an excuse to go through this flavor and then try the next." She'd probably sell her recipes if anyone really wanted them. |
Nick Drago | Another glance is given to the cup. "A bag. I already have a cup of it here." He looks back to the display nodding the direction of the contents. "...and while we're at it I'll take two." A hand reaches into his pocket, "of each. To go of course." |
Shiloh | Shiloh nods. "Bag of grounds and... two of...each cupcake?" She just wants to confirm while she moves to grab a bag of the coffee grounds and sets them on the counter by the register. Then she's grabbing a cupcake box and fitting two of each cupcake in - as long as he confirms as much. "Anything else?" |
Nick Drago | The man shakes his head. "No. No. Sorry, I should have been a bit clearer. What I mean is two of each item." He takes another sip while he allows for Shiloh to process the request. The wallet is opened up. "Is card okay?" |
Shiloh | Shiloh blinks but then she goes to put his whole order together. Two of everything. Which pretty much sets her for the day - and there's still a long day to go! "Alright. Let me...yes..." She pauses to lightly quick-walk into the back and comes back with a smallish cardboard box. Something one might see fruits delivered in or something. This she uses to pack up all the boxes and bags. "Oh and yeah, card is totally fine." She gives him a price, which may seem like she's underselling a bit, and then will process the sale once he's paid. "You going to be okay carrying this?" |
Nick Drago | "Oh I have a ride." the man assures offering over the business card. Nothing of note beyond the fact the last name of the person matches up to the name of the Studio. Wade Shaw. Shaw Studios. "No worries there." Another glance is given to the display. "...when done with this, I'd like to make a separate purchase for two Caffiene Dreams. That time will be in cash." |
Shiloh | "Are those for here or also to go?" Shiloh asks, because she has to. But either way she'll grab the smaller cupcake box and puts in two of the Caffeine Dreams. Then rings that up and offers him the new total. She also takes the business card from him. "Shaw Studios. Wade Shaw. You're Wade I assume?" |
Nick Drago | "To go as well." the now identified studio owner answers, nodding as he confirms. "That I am." He replies, smiling. "I believe what you're selling will do well for the break room offerings today." He nods to the smaller box. "...Except for those two. That will be an indulgence." |
Shiloh | Shiloh smiles and actually blushes. "Well. If they like what they taste, do tell them where they can come indulge whenever they wish?" She says this and then chuckles a bit at his comment to the other cupcakes. "Ah. So the business card paid for the offerings, and you personally bought the little indulgence. Makes sense. I really do appreciate you comin' by and all. Whoever sent you. Tell them I said thanks." |
Nick Drago | Wade once again nods. "Keeping my clients happy does count as a business expense after all. Although no matter how convincing I can be I'm not sure I could convince anyone that my having a cupcake would contribute to that goal. And I will relay the message when I give him his." |
