Owner Pose
Alex Summers They arrived perhaps 20 minutes ago. Maybe 30, hard to tell. Then again Logan would probably know best because he can smell their scent and know when they last peed, pooped, and had lunch, plus all the locations they've been in the past 30 to 50 minutes. Alex's scent is probably pretty standard for Alex. <insert Lorna's scent here that she can describe>. But in this case, they're in the medical bay with Hank (NPC'd). Hank has only recently taken Lorna's blood to discern her level of health and her status. He's put into a lab machine that will spin it, sample it, process it, and analyze it.

Alex isn't the most patient of people. He's definitely anxious, smells anxious, pensive, and even has a bit of need of adding more deodorant. It's been a long day. A worrisome week.

Hank says, " "Be it what one desires or what one most fears. The truth is what one must ascertain and is then required to deal with." - Sir Roger Haines. Please, Alex, take a seat. It's going to take the time it takes. And when we learn of the condition - if there is one - we will deal with it."

Alex sighs, looks to Hank and then back to Lorna with a concerned gaze and a tight jaw. He shoves his hands into his pockets because he has no idea what else to do with them.
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane sits in one of the med beds, glancing around anxiously. This isn't a full physical and just a blood test - at least for now - so she's permitted to keep her street clothes on which makes her a bit less anxious as she eyes her blood samples. "Is all of that really necessary? I thought it would be simpler and quicker.." she mutters, arms folded as she waits impatiently, tapping her fingers.

Relations between her and the Xmen haven't been the greatest, largely thanks to a fake Lorna wannabe going around, wreaking havok in town. Hopefully things have been smoothed over between her and at least some team mates. But thanks to a history of being used and possessed...A lot...She is still pretty paranoid..

"So..Who else is here?"
Logan Logan and Alex have a rocky relationship. Is it bad as Logan and Scott? No. Is it bad as Alex and Scott? Maybe. Jury might still be out there.

Logan smells something foul in the air and he goes to poke around. That's what takes him into the med bay shortly after everything.

Catching Hank's quote, Logan will counter, "'When you have elminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.'" At least Logan quoted Arthur Conan Doyle instead of a famous Jack Nicholson line about the truth. He wlaks into the room. "What do we got?" and there's concern in his voice. The ocean blue eyes slipping from Lorna to Alex then back to Hank.

Loran speaks about quickness. Wanting to basically leave, Logan will take a few sniffs to make sure this is either "the real deal" or Vlorna the Imposter. He lumps that "Lorna" with a certain impaler.

"Ain't seen no one else yet," Logan will anser Lorna's question partially.
Alex Summers Hank answers, "A few here and there. Most of the students are away on summer break. The core of the X-Men still lurk these hallowed halls. Rogue, Kitty, Kurt, Rachel, and a smattering of others. And of course, Logan." The trailing remark is accompanied by a welcoming smile from the blue Beast(ie). Then he adds, "I think she was asking of the royal 'here'. As in on the property, Logan. As for what we have, we had nothing, yet. But soon, answers will reveal."

Alex isn't one to jump or be startled. Especially here as he's always expecting someone to walk in, walk around the corner, step through the walls, or teleport into the room unannounced. It's the nature of living with scores of mutants; whom many don't respect boundaries. And he sees Logan as one of them.

Alex's blue eyes focus in on Logan and he takes a step forward toward, intending to put himself between Logan and Lorna. Alex says in an annoyed tone and tries to preemptively answer what questions may come, "We're not staying long, Logan. Just needed Hank's help. Lorna got... hurt."
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane tenses visibly at the sight of Logan. Although they had more or less smoothed things over, he had once mentioned her scent being quite similar to Laura Hanes', aka the 'imposter'. Laura may be dead now, killed by Dracula's own hand no less..But had they both had the last laugh with Lorna?

Vampires be sneaky, it's how they survive. But they probably have a distinct undead scent too. They also have other ways of being made or 'unmade'.

"So..." she licks her lips, "How would I know off the top if I had been changed? My memories of that night are pretty fuzzy..Laura was killed right? What about Dracula? We're there other vampires?" she has so many questions but she needs to know all the variables, the possibilities.

"If Hank finds out I am a vampire, is that it? Out come the stakes?" she's dead serious.
Logan Logan looks at Hank and nods, "Hank's numbers are correct. Don't ferget Frost n' her kids," that's what he calls that beloved hivemind of hers. Logan sees all five of them as an extension of her.

Logan isn't surprise that Alex isn't surprised. Comes with being a member of any team that bears "X" in the name. A brow will slowly rise up, "Who's kickin' ya out? Don't gotta hurry on my account," this is why Logan wished the professor didn't get called away so soon. This strife, this discord would have gotten fixed.

Thinking of Chuck, Logan will say, "Stay as long as ya need n' longer if ya want. Ain't like the place doesn't have the room," this is basically Logan speak for phrases like "Be our guest!" or perhaps even a "You're welcome to stay."

"What happened?" and then he looks to Lorna to ask the source, "Are ya alright?" and there's genuine concern in his voice. Maybe the trio didn't start off on the wrong foot, but Logan's trying to make it so it doesn't stay that way.

Logan's quiet for a while. He'll begin to speak, "Think of the books. They vary, but a lotta em' talk of a cure. We could either use those, or check to see if we got contacts in those circles. Someone that would know fact from fiction," and he will be quick to add a single phrase. "That's 'if' ya are." There's a chance where Lorna might be a red-blooded mutant and nothing more. It's him trying to stay positive for everyone else's sake.

He looks at Alex checking to see how the idea sounded. It was better than staking Lorna in his mind.
Alex Summers Alex was not at all keen on the idea of staking Lorna; it was written in the look of shock of his face just before he says to Lorna with a glance back over his shoulder, "Oh hell no. We'll see that Strange guy or that Voodoo prince. Whoever. We'll get it fixed."

Alex does hear Logan's tone, and is surprised by it. It's got an interesting tone and the offer of staying is not at all what Alex was expecting from Logan. Then again, he recalls Lorna telling him the story about how Xavier and Logan were trying to trick Lorna into being mind probed by the professor himself. And it's probably just another trick. So Alex says, "We're just here to figure out what to do next." Then he turns his gaze over to Hank.

Hank has turned his attention from the unfolding drama to the results being propagated on the screen. There are a few hrms, hummms, and oooohs coming from the furry blue Beast as he tallies the numbers and looks for certain markers.
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane smirks darkly at Logan, "Oh, y'know, making sure I wasn't turned into a vampire after being trapped for hours in that wearehouse, being fed on by Vampires.."she shrugs, "Just another day at the office, I'm sure I'll be fine but just incase.." hey, if fear's got ya gripped, May as well make dark humour out of it.

She nods wordlessly to Alex, clutching his hand tensely. "Yeah...We'll think of..Something, I'm not big on being possessed by a demon or however it works. How exactly does it work anyway?"
Logan Logan looks at Alex, "Offer still stands." It's a simple, "The light will be on should you change your mind," albeit gruffer. "Don't be a stranger, unlike yer brother," Logan still wishes Chuck was here. They could have straighten up this Lorna stuff.

"Careful or I'm gonna think ya sound like me. Not a good look on anyone, darlin'," and then he looks at the pair.

There's a pause from Logan, "Basement always has better communication if ya need em'," it may be the best way of finding out where some of the magic men go.
Alex Summers Alex's hand is taken, he's warmer than the average bear at present. He squeezes back, trying to convey comfort.

Alex gives Logan a brief nod of acceptance and also notes, "Good idea." regarding the communication avenue. But he's still not one hundred percent.

"Eureka." states Beast as he translates the mass spectrometer data, chem panel, metabolic, lipid, liver, toxicity, kidney, complete blood count, and all the other things that can be read by Shi'ar technology medical devices.

Alex looks to Hank and quickly asks, almost louder than he should be, "You've got something?"
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane arches a slightly wary brow at Logan, "We are never strangers to the Xmen. We are only a phone call away when you need us. We just like our space, and our freedom.." she glances back at Beast as he seems about finished with his analyses, tensing visibly, gripping Alex's hand even tighter. "Soo? What's the prognosis?"
Logan A nod comes from Logan about the acceptance. "I know a lotta them can be hard to pin down," it's not like Kamar-Taj has a country code in the phone books.

There's a pause from Logan as Hank exclaims about the results, presumably. "What's the word, doc?" he asks since everyone's waiting on bated breath.

Seeing how Lorna and Alex lean on each other, a small twinge of jealousy runs through Logan. It's not their fault. His security in that area had been recently shattered. So, he does envy what they have and lament over what he thought he had too.
Alex Summers Hank merrily says with printouts in hand, "My dear Lorna, the findings are conclusive. You are not, nor will you become, a vampire."

Alex breathes a sigh of relief and looks to Lorna. It takes him a second to process the words before he can actually convey them. But the expression is clearly written in his face; that the days of stress are now over.

Hank continues, "However. You've a bit of a toxin, nay, a venom within your system. One that slightly alters your brain chemistry. Forcing your pineal gland to release high amounts of melatonin. Which in turn disrupts your circadian rhythms - making you drowsy and wanting to find sleep. It also reduces your testosterone and estrogen levels causing you to present as even more submissive. Vulnerable to suggestion. It's not unheard of. This venom is common to the vampire species. They inject it into their victims so that they may feed off of them for an extended period of time. It's likely perhaps that your mutant metabolism, Lorna, rendered you the ability to overcome the venom - to some degree - and thus escape their fiendish clutches. The other good news is that we can synthesize an anti-venom based on the chemical nature of the venom in your blood. And... you need to sleep."
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane bites her lip, hanging on every word Hank says. Malachite eyes glance briefly towards Logan, perhaps catching something in his eyes that cause her gaze to soften just a bit.

"Laura Hanes was a fool. She convinced a lot of people that she was me." perhaps it was her way of saying she forgives the Xmen for being fooled by her trickery.

When Hank finally gives the verdict she breathes a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness..." she pauses a bit though, at mention if the venom and groans. "Does that mean I have to hang around sick bay a bit longer? And with all the feeding..I hope I won't have withdrawal symptoms?" still she yawns, clearly sleepy.
Logan "Probably easier if ya do. I can see if someone will whip ya up somethin' ya like. Requests?" Logan asks of Lorna as he looks at Alex. "What 'bout you? No promises to either, but enough people in this place like to cook. IIt's just findin' one of them," he's just oging to make them as comfortable as possible. Maybe not bend over backward, but if he seees an easy solution then he would execute it.
Alex Summers Hank turns and presses a few keys to start the synthesis.

Alex responds to Logan's offer, "That'd be great. I don't know when I last ate."

The magic of Shi'ar technology is beyond magic. It's science. There's some beeping, squishing, rooshing, and then a ding as something is synthesized within a tray within the form of a fluid in a Star Trek like pressure injector. He takes it from the tray and says while walking toward Lorna, "Quite." he answers her question about hanging around the bay, "You'll need to remain here for observation. Now; This hypo-spray will start the process of breaking down the venom within your blood and tissues. It'll take perhaps 12 to 16 hours to clear it of your system."

If Lorna does not resist, block, dodge, evade, etc; Beast will administer the injection with a pssst sound when pressing to her shoulder. The hypo-spray will also have a mild sedative to help her go back into sleepy land that she won't be taxing her body while the cleaning process is happening.

Alex will seem relieved and suddenly exhausted. The adrenaline has worn off and he's no longer amped up with stress, anxiety, worry, and so on. Now, it's as if his body is about to give out.
