Owner Pose
Lorna Dane A lot has happened over the past few months. There had been a Lorna imposter who had apparently fooled every one except for Alex. There had been tension between Lorna and the Xmen. And there had been vampires. Things had come to a head recently, when people started vanishing en masse in Mutant Town, including Lorna. Some Xmen had come to investigate and encountered a Vampire nest. And Lorna. Or the imposter. Apparently some Xmen still believed Lorna capable of such evil. Or something. Still, after a long battle with 'Laura aka Magnetrix', the Xmen won, Dracula left, but not before beheading Laura himself as punishment for bringing out vampires into the open, and forgetting one cardinal rule: subtlety.

Now, after nearly a week of absence, a very tired and roughed up Lorna struggles with the lock, stumbling into the apartment. Her clothes are ragged, she looks exhausted, a bit bruised, and, oh my, are those fang marks on her neck?
Alex Summers Alex was beside himself with worry over her. He knew that there was a kerfuffle with the vampires. That it had come to a conclusion. That worry was coupled with an internal anxiety that he was not present with Lorna when she was to face whatever threat that gave her the current marks. Sure, he knows she can take care of herself. But he's also supposed to be there /for/ and /with/ her in battles.

Like the old days, when he wore his old costume - the one that he still eyes in the closet. He really rocked that yellow and blue jacket. They were a fantastic duo while everyone else on the team were simply there for specialty attacks and cleanup.

Alex was beside himself.

The clicking of the key against the metal of the lock alerted him to her (or someone's presence). He was already moving and mere feet away when she opened the door. Just in time to wrap his arms around her to not only steady her, but also embrace her. His voice raised an octave and a few more decibels of surprise, he says, "LORNA!".

A thousand questions will come, but for now, he simply says, "Fuck, let's get you to the couch..." and his intent will be simply to close the door with his foot and help her move to the couch. Taking care not to squeeze her.
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane smiles weakly at him, leaning into him as she stumbles towards the sofa. "Hey..Guess I'm fashionably late..Thank goodness for the Xmen I suppose." no doubt Alex and other Xmen had searched other potential hideouts, but Logan, Emma and Rogue had found the real one, had they alerted the others yet? Had they mentioned the death of the fake Lorna?. Sometimes that's just the way it is.

"Im alright, just a little tired..Neck itches.." she mutters, scratching the bite marks, not yet aware that they are fang bites. "Sorry to worry you, love..."
Alex Summers Her weak words express a tone of exhaustion which is coupled with the extended concern as he notes the bite mark on her neck. Getting her settled on the couch is the first step. He notes, "Glad they were around, but no, no one has reached out to me about anything. Not about the operation, no status, or any other sort of update. But hang on a sec..." The second is moving quickly away and to the adjacent kitchen where he'll grab a cloth towel and get it wet. Then returning he says, "Your neck itching... listen, you've got what looks like bite marks." He'll settle down on the couch and say, "Lemmie see if I can clean it up. Maybe it's just dried blood."
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane snorts, "Figures, considering everyone is probably still convinced I'm that cheap imitation..As if.." she shakes her head, "What happened to her, anyway? Did we get her? I feel like I'm missing out on a week or two.." she groans, rubbing her head, "Tell me, do I look as bad as I feel?" she smirks, trying to lighten the situation.

Mention of bite marks on her neck however, causes her to stiffen, frowning suddenly. "Wait what? I've been..Bitten? So what does that mean, am I going to turn into a vampire now?" as if things weren't pretty messed up as it was.
Alex Summers He wipes, and wipes, and tries to clean up the 'wound' to then further investigate visually. He mutters, "No, Lorna. You don't look any worse than when we went up against the MLF." He pauses looking at her neck, keeping her green hair back and out of the way. He offers a thoughtful and reflective hum before saying in a tight throated tone of concern, "I don't know. But I do know you need to get checked out. We can fly to Muir and have Moira do it. I'm not sure about the medical down in Genosha. Or..." and this is the most annoying option for him, "...or we can swing up to Xavier's and get Beast to do it."
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane laughs, "Mutant Liberation Front. Heh, good times." she chuckles dryly. At least she's not bleeding fresh blood. The wound seems to have heeled, albeit leaving an ugly bite mark. Hopefully it will fade in time. "Back to the Xmen, huh? You think they'll actually believe I'm not the enemy this time and trust me? Or you for that matter." she groans, rubbing her temples, still suffering a headache.

"I suppose the mansion is the quickest to get to, and I need to know what happened when I was out. What happened to that butch, Laura? The only thing I know for sure is that I'm not her, I'm not evil. I'm Lorna Dane, Polaris. Sometime Xmen and hero. I just wish the others trusted me more, instead they set up a meeting and try and trick me into getting my mind scanned without asking ahead of time. Tch.."

Seems she's still bitter but curious. "Maybe Beast will have more sense.."
Alex Summers "Xavier is a fucking jerk.", Alex channels Kitty and says flatly regarding that one time he tried to trick Lorna into a mind scan by offering her a job. But then Alex says, "But you're right. Beast... Hank is the best and closest. I trust him way more than any of the other options. How about we run a hot shower, you get cleaned up, and I'll call ahead. Make sure he'll receive us. Probably a blood test, autodoc stuff, and lab results. Shouldn't be long."

Alex will slide off the couch and stand. Ready to offer her a head to rise and move with him. He also says, "We've got pizza, I can heat up in the air fryer too. If you're hungry."
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane smiles and nods, stretching a bit and climbing a bit shakily to her feet. "A hot relaxing shower sounds nice..But..What happens if they discover I'm a vampire? You think they'll just..*Thwip!*" she makes a cutting motion across her throat, the implications clear. Seems she really doesn't trust the Xmen and it's gonna take a lot for her to trust them again.
Alex Summers Walking her toward the bathroom, keeping his warm arm around the small of her back and his free hand holding onto her own cross his body (walking in line abreast), Alex says, "We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. We've got some allies in the X-Men. Surely they won't try anything outright stupid."

Alex will push the bathroom door open. There's no towel on the floor, nor are there messes going on. He cleans when he's anxious. It's likely he exhausted all the standard looking for her in all the common places - so best that he return back to the apartment and wait for her. So he cleaned. A lot.

He'll move her to the basin or the toilet that she may lean or sit. And then release her to open the shower door and start the water. He's methodical with clear intent as he does these things. Trying to ensure that she's taken care of first and foremost.
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane nods, biting her lip. "Right, I'm overthinking things, it's not like they can force me to stay there even if.." she swallows and shakes her head. No, she really doesn't want to think that way. Gotta stay positive, right?

Glancing around the bathroom, she is utterly impressed, "Woow, if worrying makes you into a clean freak, I should make you worry more often.." she grins and winks at him, settling down against the basin as she waits. "You know I'm just kidding of course. I'll be alright, I'm sure of it. Thanks for being there for me, Alex. At least I know I can trust you.."
Alex Summers There's a brief glance from his blue eyes to her green. She can see the emotion in his gaze. He loves her. She is his world - at least when they are /on/. And when things like this happen, he realizes just how much he thinks of her. He simply replies, "Always." then he will turn and make his way for the door. Intent on letting her do what she needs to do to get ready. "Oh, and by the way... all of your outfits, slacks, and shirts are color coordinated now."
Lorna Dane Lorna Dane smiles, grasping his hand, pulling him towards her to give him a quick peck on the cheek before letting go and getting ready to strip down and clean. Of course that last statement causes her to freeze in shock and amusement.

"Seriously....Alex?!"
