Thomas Raith | For once the paperwork Thomas is working on has little to do with the Club. The kitchen table is covered with a rough floor plan drawn on a sheet of printer paper, along with several notes and entries about "Crowd flow" and "Suitible refreshments... He mutters something in Ancient Etruskin that roughly translates to "How in the Empty Night did i get talked into this.." To which he /answers/ in English.. "Because a six year old girl would be sad if you didn't..." One of the paper's is labeled "To do for Maria Rodrigez birthday." ... abd since Axe's real name is Carlos Rodregez... |
Faith Lehane | Faith Lehane had not bothered to send Thomas a text to explain her extended absence over the past week. Instead she just bursts through the door, carrying a duffle bag and looking a bit rougher up and bruised, maybe a bit tired even. She makes a beeline for the kitchen, searching the fridge for a beer and thirstily pops one open before she realizes she's not a lone. "Yo, Thomas. What you doing this late? Burning'the midnight oil?" she takes a long sip of the beer, flopping down on the chair opposite him. "You wouldn't believe the day I had!" |
Thomas Raith | Thomas Raith looks up from his planning and pinches the bridge of his nose, a sure fire sign he's been looking at papers too long, so having his lover barge in is a welcome reprive. As she fetches a Mac's from his fridge he merely holds out a hand to indicate she should bring him one as well and asks "Oh? And what could have given you such a miserable day?" In a pleasent tone though. It's hardly the first time Faith has breezed ina and out again for several days at a time. Not that he doesn't worry, but he has grown used to the idea.. |
Faith Lehane | Faith Lehane laughs, brushing her hair out of her tired eyes. "Terrible? I had the time of my life!" she smirks, "Let's just say I 'stumbled' on a bus ticket to Vancouver, bumped into Trini, had a hell of a time..Except for bumping into some zombies after but hey, nothing better than a good fight after a big meal.." she peers at all the papers scattered over the table. "Sooo what's this all about?" |
Thomas Raith | He chuckles a little bit raising an eyebrow at the idea of those two getting along and having an adventure, "My I would have loved to have been there for that." He says honestly, taking his beer and sipping it. "And this is Axe's little girl's birthday party. Between her mom working at the hospital and Axe putting in doubles here, I somehow got volinteered to help out... Which reminds me.." He pulls out a white paper bag, and from it a wax paper wraped cookie half the size of the woman's head. "I know you aren't big into choclate chip, but tell me this isn't one of best cookies you ever had. |
Faith Lehane | Faith Lehane roll her eyes. "Don't misunderstand, it's not like we're buddies buddies now, but..Bumping into each other at a burger joint and getting hexed pretty badly by some weird spell that drained our emotions and barely making it out in one piece was an experience.." she's careful not to say 'bonding' or 'heart to heart' or any of that touchy freely stuff. But she does give a strange smile. "She's a nice girl.." She is so caught up in her own thoughts she misses most of wha5 he says. "Huh? Someone's birthday you said?" |
Thomas Raith | Thomas Raith nods and smiles himself. He has fond memories of Trini and rather likes the idea of his former lover and his current one getting along. "Maria. Axe's little girl?" He says reminding Faith of the adorbile little Hispanic girl who turned Axe onto the straight and narrow path as it were. "I promised to handle the cake and decorations. The cookie came from the bakery I decided to use to make the cake.." he chuckles, "I manage a club that employes white Courtiers, a were bear, and whatever the hell Yosa is... and I am nervious that a child's birthday won't be perfect." |
Faith Lehane | Faith Lehane blinks, taking another long swig. "Ohh...Right! Party for little girl.." she smirks, "I can't imagine a sex demon catering to little girls too." she grins wickedly, shaking her head, "But I guess you can behave yourself when you want to. Or are you afraid you can't? Need a woman's touch to deal with kids?" her tone is teasing. |
Thomas Raith | Thomas Raith grins wickedly, "Well you know children's birthday parties mean bored housewives. Pretty fertile hunting grounds." He says in a teasing tone to assure her he is at least, mostly, joking. "but seriously, Axe is a great employee and has been with me from the begining, and Maria is the apple of his eye." He rolls his neck to relieve stress.. "So did I come up in your ass kicking escapades?" |
Faith Lehane | Faith Lehane smirks, "You like kids huh? Hope you ain't planning for one of your own, cuz I ain't into kids." she arches a brow when he asks the next question though, seeming to take a moment to consider before responding, even taking a long sip of her drink first. "Heh, I did mention you, I briefly mistook her sourcmoid for her losing you to me but I guess it was just the hex that made her down.." she peers at him intently, kicking up her feet on the table, which Thomas probably hates. "Why, were you hoping we might be fighting over you?" |
Thomas Raith | Thomas Raith shakes his head... and openly admits something he'd likely never have told Buffy. "White Courtiers have incredibly low birth rates. My father is several centuries old and has only fathered ten children in that time. Add to that i don't recall any stories of a Slayer ever being begotten on, I'd say you and I are pretty safe. I like other people's kids." He smirks a bit at her comment and shrugs, "She's the one that left, so she didn't loose me she gave me up." He says with a grin and adds "And between you and me? I'll take Slayer Life force over Morphin' Grid energy any day..." |
Faith Lehane | Faith Lehane breathes out a sigh of relief. "Well that's good, I mean if we're in it for the long haul, I don't wanna become a freaking mom or anything, I ain't too good with kids either." she shrugs. "So when's the party..?" but when he adds that little interesting tidbit, she arches a brow, feet off the table, peering intently/ at him. "Oh yeah? Are you saying slayer life force..Tastes better?" she seems amused. |
Thomas Raith | Thomas Raith considers a bit and grins, "I mean it's hard to describe without a frame of reference but lets say that all life force is like dark chocolate... I know, again not your favorite but the analogy works for me. So a Muggle off the street is like a hershey's bar. A Slayer is more like one of those Cherry Cordial things that are just absolutly decadent to the point if you have too much you'll give yourself a headache, but you want more anyway. And a Ranger, well they are more like one of those choclate covered caramels... distinctly different, and not at all bad.. but if you never had one again you wouldn't miss it. |
Faith Lehane | Faith Lehane licks her lips as she listens, leaning forward a bit. "Mmm, when you out it like that, now you're really making me hungry for something intense, especially after a hard few days.." she smirks, a wicked glint in her eyes, "I think it's time we both took a load off." |
Thomas Raith | Thomas Raith's eyes go a few shades lighter blue and he very carefully and diliberately stacks the papers he was working on to one side. "Something intense does sound wonderful to me... That is if you think you've got the energy left.." He says challangingly... |
Faith Lehane | Faith Lehane smirks, shaking her head, "Could do with a rush of good energy after getting my emotions drained like that." she kicks off from the table, putting the empty beer can on the table, "When's the last time you got in a good feeding anyway?" |
