- Shiloh Foster has posed:
Shiloh and Nick have been training for a good hour. Though she's been taking it slow for the most part, giving the basic run down - and likely the trainer who is also going to be a part of working on the movie set is there also. Cause Shiloh's a good partner to spar against, but she also has to learn a few tricks of the movie trade because the moves are designed to look as realistic as possible while also ensuring no one gets hurt.
Sure, accidents happen, but few and far between hopefully.
It's now come to a point of taking a break, so Shiloh walks off to the side, grabbing a bottle of water from a bench and then turns to flop herself down upon it. The water is drank, and she takes a quick look around before leaning back so she bends over the bench until her head nearly touches the ground - but her back pops and that's a relief!
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Following after Shiloh, Nick walks past to grab his own water bottle. Considering Nick not being a stranger to being active, he had more than enough sense to bring something to drink.
Yay... He's not an idiot.
Sipping away he idly watches as Shiloh flexes back. A brow lifts to the sound of the loud pop that emits afterwards. The bottle lowers. "...That sounded like it felt good." He comments.
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
"It did... Not that it didn't hurt right when it popped but the aftermath is like a rush of adrenaline and serenity at once." Shiloh offers as she shifts to pull herself back up to sitting upright. "You're doing good... forms and all that... and I'm happy to be learning a bit myself with this whole movie choreography stuff..." She smiles then.
Another drink of the bottle is taken. "So... did you always want to be an actor? You're in a band too right? How does all that even work out?"
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick cracks a slight smile to the general description. "...The thing about the bad is it kind of highlights the good parts so you notice them more."
He takes another sip of his water before closing it. "...And thanks. Hopefully I remember the right forms when it gets to filming and don't drift over to the other ones."
The bottle is set down. "...To be honest, I didn't consider acting until I started getting offers."
He shrugs, "And- I'm more a solo artist now. The bands I play with are either collab projects or tour bands."
Moving over, he sits down next to Shiloh, "...As for how I ended up in music. It was the first work opportunity I found that got me out of Hell's Kitchen."
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
"You'll have to remind me what works you've been in so I can watch them and see how you fare as an actor..." Shiloh says this with a smirk and then watches as Nick comes over to sit next to her. "Oooh. I see. About the solo artist thing. That sounds cool. I mean, I got your autograph on my wall so can't get cooler than that, right?" And that smirk turns into a softer smile.
"I'm sorry... Hell's Kitchen? Isn't that an old television show with like, Gordon Ramsay and company?"
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick sighs. "Well. Closer to Halloween you might find a local theater having a special showing of 'Life Bites!'. That ended up being a bit more successful than the producers were probably planning." He pauses, "...You could probably search for my name on Netflix to pull up a few." He pauses. "The Call of the Wild should still be on there... Uh. 'From the Ashes' might still have some in theaters..."
He shakes his head. "Ah Hell's Kitchen is an area in New York City. It's- Well, like a mini Gotham. Complete with their own corrupt cops."
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
Shiloh chuckles and nods. "I'll definitely have to look you up..." Offering this much as she takes another drink from her water bottle. When he explains Hell's Kitchen, she sort of ah's and nods her head. "So it's like a section with a special name. Like uhm... well I can't think of examples off the top of my head, but I get it..." She offers this and then smiles. "So, are you excited for this film then? I mean I guess you are since you've taken the part but.... maybe the better question is - are there any projects you've turned down because you didn't like something about it?"
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick considers the question. "Well. I have some really good management. They tend to sort through the offers and only bring up what I might be interested in. Generally they don't mention what gets turned down. So usually when It gets to me and I turn it down, it's because there was a better offer on the table. Or there was a situational reason for not taking it."
He looks over to the practice area. "I am interested in how this film will turn out. It'll be the first movie musical I'll have been in. Probably one of the larger budgets too."
Nick turns his head looking over to Shiloh. "So what about you? What drew you to fencing?"
- Shiloh Foster has posed:
Shiloh nods and smiles. "Oh, well that's good. I mean, I guess that's kinda how it works when you have a management team anyway, right? So that all makes sense." This is offered as he comments about the musical and such and she grins. "Oooh, this is a musical? That might take some really fun choreography... I can't wait.. I mean. I probably won't have much to do with it once you're actually on set and all, but being part of the process even in a small way is fun." Like, she doesn't even expect her name in the credits or any sort of recognition.
That last question catches her. "Oh. Well. Back in London I studied with the Historial European Martial Arts - which actually trains you in all sorts of weaponry... so it's more just a fascination with the blade that I have... fencing is just a part of it. So when I moved here, I was excited to find this studio so I could at least keep some of my skills honed..."
- Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick nods in confirmation. "Yeah. That I have to get training in this that kind of narrows down the possibilities to which one there."
A glance is given to the main consult for the fencing training before he looks back. "Very fortunate that you found one. I still haven't really found a set home for escrima practice. Life just tends to pull away my sparring partners as well."
