(Note: Fury emitted by Natasha Romanoff)
Cast of Characters: Black Widow (Romanoff), Phobos, Nick Fury
Tinyplot: Camp Olympus

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Get me agent Alexander Aaron to my office ASAP."

The words came over the intercom to Director Fury's administrative assistant through her earpiece. No intercoms here. That was so last century. He had a direct line to her through their vast communications array at the Triskelion. It also allowed him to reach her if she was out of the office for some reason. Though he did try to respect her breaks and lunches. Not that this was always possible. Evil didn't keep a schedule.

He was sitting at his desk currently, eyeing the computer screen carefully as he read the file for about the sixteenth time. He had an yellow lined notepad on the desk where he was taking some written notes as he added a few more details.

It wasn't really necessary as he already had his plan of action in mind. Of course, he also didn't know if Agent Aaron was even working today. He might be in for a bit of a wait if it was the young man's day off. Though he was on call so he would be showing up. Eventually.

Fury continued to work as he awaited word from his assistant, Agent Price, on an ETA.
Phobos has posed:
Fortunately for Agent Aaron he wasn't far off from being at hand. Word got to him down in the gymnasium where he had been conducting an exercise of air recovery while under fire that had drawn a good number of registrants. Though when word from Fury reached him the course had to end abruptly.
The word got back to him quickly enough, and five minutes later the door opened as Agent Price presented him with a polite intonation of, "Agent Aaron, sir."
The blond man was wearing those long blue athletic shorts with the SHIELD logo on the hip, matched with the grey t-shirt that had the 'SHIELD Athletic Dept.' declaration on the pocket. He stepped in, features slightly flushed, and said, "Director."
Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Fury stood facing away from the door, hands behind his back and legs slightly apart in an at-ease position. His trademark leather trench coat was currently slung over the back of his office chair, leaving him standing in a basic black long-sleeved shirt and a pair of tactical pants that were tucked neatly into military style boots. He was gazing off toward upper New York which is where his thoughts were also focused for the moment.

At the announcement, he gave a terse nod and turned finally as Agent Price closed the door behind her exit. Leaving the pair alone.

"Agent Aaron. A situation has come to my attention that will require your..." He paused the tiniest fraction of a second to pick the correct word. "Particular skillset."

He nodded toward an empty seat in front of his desk, the closest he would come to offering an invitation for the agent to sit. Though he himself did move to sit on his own side of the desk. Of course, his seat seemed far more comfortable than those he provided for visitors.

"Or perhaps I should say your bloodline."
Phobos has posed:
Alexander's first meeting with Fury had been a tense thing, though he had never quite been intimidated. He had recognized the significance of the man and the weight of his responsibility, which garnered respect from the young Olympian. So that at the small gesture hinting at an offer of a seat, Alexander took that as an order and planted himself on the chair.
Though his back was straight, his pale eyes held on the Director.
When Fury took the seat opposite him, Alex's gaze followed unblinking. Then those lastt few words spoken brought forth his reply, "Sir?"
Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Through a source, we have learned that the Olympians are running a training camp. It is being utilized to teach people with the blood of Olympians combat skills. Among other things." Making birdhouses and canoeing weren't exactly matters of homeland security. Gods and demi gods training for war? That was another thing entirely.

He reached out to the screen that was in front of him and turned it so that Alexander would be able to see the images. There were quite a few. Overgrown brush, dilapidated cabins and outbuildings. A rusty old wrought iron gate that had the head of a hydra, twisted and sinewy, as part of its design. Fury continued as he clicked on the image of the gate and there low on a column, almost lost in the weeds growing there, were words in Greek.

"I trust you can translate those yourself." A statement, not a question. He knew of the All Speak abilities that all the gods seemed to have, no matter their pantheon.

"The area has a high level of mystic energy yet we can find nothing there. Though we have it on good authority, this is the location.

"We need you to infiltrate and determine their intentions."
Phobos has posed:
"A... what now?" Alexander says before he can check his language, and instead then says, "I mean, yes sir."
That screen is turned toward him and he looks at the images as well as the data thhat is present there, his eyes taking it all in as Fury flicks through display point to display point. As the showing goes on his brow knits slightly, expression gaining a hint of puzzlement. His head tilts to the side slightly.
"The Path of the Youth," He translates, then draws his lower lip between his teeth to work at it a little as his brow knits thoughtfully. He tilts his head ever so slightly the other way. "I can do a direct reconnaissance, though I could also ask my father. Or would you prefer that we not spread the knowledge that we're aware of this that far?"
Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"We have sent boots on the ground and they found nothing. The source states only someone with Olympian blood--and not just the blood, that touch of the divine that seems to be part of some but not others--can enter the camp. Our people found what you see. Same for satellite images. Nothing is there. Yet, WAND assures us there is higher than normal output in the area for mystic energies. Something that wasn't there six years ago."

Fury considered him through that single eye, unblinking as he evaluated the young man. "Your father is not a being known for his patience. If he is not aware of it, could you guarantee he wouldn't go asking questions himself? Since I suspect the answer to that is no, you could not guarantee it, best to keep him out of the loop. For now.

"If you go there and determine that there is something hidden that only Olympians have access too, we need to know what they are planning. Is this something meant as a future attack on humanity? Or something less nefarious?

"I want you to go there, see if it even exists. Then from there, recon to get as many details as possible then you will report back to me directly."

No SHIELD supervisor, but to the Director himself. Obviously, this was a big deal to Fury based on that alone.
Phobos has posed:
"Alright, best not to tell him until we need more intel." At such a price, considering Ares' penchant for... going directly at matters.
Alexander sits up and continues to read the display, devouring the information quickly piece by piece as he listens to the words given him by Director Fury. After a moment he rubs the back of his neck with that same thoughtful gaze on his face, then he looks toward the Director. "I doubt it's an attack on humanity, just because that's... less their... vibe, sir."
Though one might be hard pressed to describe what their vibe is.
At the declaration about the path the intelligence he gains is to flow, he seems to accept it. Though he does lift his chin slightly and asks, "Is it alright for me to tag my usual partner for this? Or should I consider this a solo operation?"
Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Fury considered for long moments as he weighed those two questions in his mind. Then he went with his instincts.

"I will leave that up to you. You know the Olympians moreso than we do. Though keep in mind that as skilled as your usual partner is--she is only human."

Against potentially gods if a situation were to arise. That last was left hanging in the air but unspoken. It didn't need to be. Alexander would understand.

"If she does go with you, despite her seniority, this is your mission and you take lead." Even though she outranked him officially. "I will see that the file is delivered to your protected email so you can go over it more fully. Everything I have you will have.

"Any other questions?"
Phobos has posed:
"No, sir. I'll go over the data and then put together a mission plan and submit it before I start the infil." He says then pushes himself to his feet, resting a hand on the back of the chair and pushing it back into place before turning to head to the door. Part of him, the part that likely comesm fromm his father, wanted to just run off immediately.
    But cooler heads prevailed.
