- Magneto has posed:
In Genosha, mutants were welcome, chief among them, the fabled X-Men. Magneto had long ago promised that any who wished to visit, would be treated as honoured guests and dignitaries. Most didn't take up him on the hospitality, but every now and then, one might.
It had recently suffered an attack, and was working on rebuilding. But with their mutant gifts, they were surprisingly good at it. There were telepaths, architects, and those with building abilities, that made construction something of a breeze.
Magneto himself was out on a second story balcony of the Royal Palace, dressed casually, as he looked over Hammer Bay, the capital of Genosha, and admiring the skyline as the sun began to set.
- Rogue has posed:
There'd been plenty of times in the past that the X-men had tangled with the Brotherhood and indeed Magneto himself. Odds were, there was plenty more times in the future where it would happen again...
But for now? Well, a neutral zone of peace that was Genosha was just that, a place to take a break from the fight.
Sweeping in from above, Rogue herself was dressed as casually as she could, a figure in the skyline headed for the streets below.
- Magneto has posed:
No one alerted Magneto to an incoming mutant or meta. It was very difficult to track someone human sized in the sky. They had almost no profile. But as close as she was, Magneto could make out a human being descending from the sky, and so he levitated his helmet, bringing it towards him, and then he began to head towards where she was probably going to land. It was an odd look, Magneto wearing a turquoise polo shirt, beige shorts, sandals, and his iconic red and purple helmet. Genosha was a tropical country after all, and he hadn't planned on seeing the masses today.
- Rogue has posed:
Rogue's own clothing was well...about as revealing as she generally risked, her swimsuit-like halter top and shorts covered by a light fabric and semi-sheer green knee-length and long sleeves to protect others from accidental contact while she touched down near the coastline and by the waves.
Settling in, she exhales a breath letting the wind and salt wash across her lower legs and moves to look up in time to spot the mutant.
"Huh...that's a fashion statement y'got there."
- Magneto has posed:
The Master of Magnetism had enough metal on him, aglets, buttons, or some specially sewn into his clothes, that he could easily levitate himself, no matter what he wore. It just made sense for him to be prepared. But once he landed near the X-Man, he took his helmet off. Rogue was not a telepath, and if she had absorbed someone who was, he was willing to take that risk. It revealed his long white hair, "Dress for the dictator you want to be, not the dictator you are?" He offered up, tongue firmly in cheek, despite a serious tone as he said it. And then he smiled, moving closer to her, "welcome to Genosha, Rogue."
- Rogue has posed:
It wasn't like the Professor didn't have an idea of where he was either, so the helmet being taken off made sense.
The brunette with her own solitary streak of white in her hair gave a little half-snort laugh at that before making to cross her arms lightly at her midriff, gently walking within the shallows.
"I figure you can tell I'm not here to fight. Just wanted a little break from the 'crazy' of the real world."
- Magneto has posed:
Beginning to walk with her, he at first put his hands behind his back. The helmet floated behind them, never too far, but not bothering either of them. "It is different from your regular uniform, though that one doesn't exactly provide the protection of body armor, as I recall, and, with your abilities, you are always ready to fight, my dear. Whether it's to," a sarcastic and over the top, hands coming out as if to handcuff them, "take me in," hands moving back to his sides, "or just see the sights, it's all within your grasp, you need only outstretch your hand."
- Rogue has posed:
"My usual outfit ain't quite as good for swimming, but I'm not the one for armor anyway." Being bulletproof tended to help after all.
His jest, it brought a roll of her eyes before she gestured to herself. "Do I look like I've got myself a pair of handcuff tucked away on me?"
- Magneto has posed:
"It's not, it seemed waterproof," he said, thinking about the suit she wore. Was it that different from a swimsuit? Perhaps. "You would be insane to use metal ones on me, so, I thought that you might have a pair, hidden in a pocket, or some place." He chuckled softly, as they approached a street vendor. It was quiet, the vendor was about to pack up for the day, but Magneto made eye contact with the man, who nodded, "would you care for an ice cream cone?" He asked, as he tried to lead her towards it.
- Rogue has posed:
"I really hope I don't need to explain to you why gettin sand in the skin-tight suit could be very unpleasent. Plus the leather jacket don't really do the ocean thing well."
The vendor by the beach side was indeed approached, Rogue apparently following along if only for the conversation.
It was normal enough, simple for her to enjoy not having to spend the day punching someone. Even Rogue wasn't always spoiling for a fight.
- Magneto has posed:
Erik ordered something called a ninety-nine, which includes vanilla soft serve ice cream, with some kind of a narrow chocolate poking out of it, sort of like a straw, but without the hole through it. He'd pause, seeing if Rogue would order anything, "better make that two." He would pay, using cash, which, happened to have the faces of himself, and other famous mutants, on it. "I can see why that might be unpleasant. Though I had assumed you would simply leave the jacket by the edge of the pool, or lounger on the beach.
- Rogue has posed:
Rogue says, "Even we take a day off Sugah," Rogue offers, a raise of her eyebrow at the treat being purchased. "Don't try to go swimming in our 'workwear' unless we're workin'."
A beat, she looks sidelong at the other mutant. "I mean, do you wear the cape and helmet in the shower?""
- Magneto has posed:
It was practically a prerequisite these days that in order to be a mutant, you had to be able to deliver deadpan with the best of them. The X-Men certainly held it in high regard, and Magneto did not disappoint. "Oh no, not the helmet," he used his free hand to lift his hair, long, luxurious, and grey, "I condition before and after, and blow dry it on a low setting. It takes longer, but you cannot argue with the results. Though I am surprised that you would picture me in the shower. What would the other X-Men think?" And he took a lick of his ice cream for what he felt was a mic drop moment. He was rather pleased with himself.
- Rogue has posed:
"I thought you weren't trying to get me t'punch you today," Rogue counters, but there's clear amusement in her features as she takes a lick of her own icecream, a little sigh of delight at the taste.
"It does make sense though Magneto," she speaks after a moment. "A little tropical paradise for mutants to just be mutants..."
- Magneto has posed:
"You're welcome to try," he said. There was no bravado in his voice. It wasn't even said in an arrogant tone. It was more, matter of fact. That he genuinely believed she was welcome to try and hit him. He had only turned 100 years old two days ago. Did she even know? And how would she feel about hitting a centenarian.
"Genosha was not chosen for its climate, but it is a bonus. You should try the parasailing in Hammer Bay, the pools of Gough Falls, or hiking through the hills of Ridgeback."
- Rogue has posed:
To be fair, with all the strangeness of mutation, dying, being reborn or cloned or any of the other things that seemed to happen to the X-Men...it was hard to keep track.
"I'm eating," was the counter she shot back, a shrug of her shoulders before she gives a little chuckle. "Y'ever think absailing or hiking might lose some of its charm when you can fly?"
- Magneto has posed:
He had eaten some of his ice cream cone, the chocolate now eaten, and the ice cream below the rim of the cone. He bit into the edge of the cone, and reached out a hand, "then Rogue, why not join me in a flight above Hammer Bay?" It was a simple request, though the offered hand was probably not something Rogue encountered very often. The helmet, which had been levitating behind them, closed, but didn't return to sit upon his head yet.
- Rogue has posed:
A hand out wasn't so strange a thing, even if its source was surprising. Still, a moment's consideration and a little more of her icecream came before Rogue's gloved hand reached out to take the offer and upwards she'd float. "Fine, but if you make me drop this there'll be trouble."
- Magneto has posed:
Erik levitated, wearing a turquoise polo shirt, beige shorts, brown sandals, and with his helmet floating behind him, as he had seen a figure descend upon Hammer Bay from a vantage at the Royal Palace. After investigating, he discovered it was Rogue, and had bought ice cream cones for both of them, and then took to the skies in a flight over the capital of Genosha, as the sun began to set. "Oh, I wouldn't dare." He offered, as he had almost finished his own by this point.
Hammer Bay was bustling, with a growing population, despite the recent setbacks, and so many mutants working to make it the best city it could be. There were statues, monuments, but businesses, hospitals, schools, and police stations too. "Unless I decided to live dangerously," he added as an afterthought.
