I don't drink coffee, I take tea, my dear
Date of Scene: 30 June 2024
Location: The Coffee Bean - Manhattan
Synopsis: Rave introduces Billy Cranston to a new coffee order.
Cast of Characters: Blue Ranger, Rave

Blue Ranger has posed:
You never know what you're going to encounter in New York. It was one of the reasons why Billy Cranston kept coming back. Or rather, his friends kept suggesting he explore it. Because really, he'd be happy in his laboratory. But instead, the Blue Ranger was in the Coffee Bean queue, behind a girl with blue hair, and ahead of someone who looked curiously like Sting, the English singer. But Billy, he wouldn't know Sting from Dazzler. He was just trying to get a caffeinated beverage for himself and some people who were waiting for him. But at the front of the queue, there was a new guy taking orders, and this was the third one he had gotten wrong while Billy was waiting.
Rave has posed:
Rave wasn't the sort to have a secret identity, wasn't the sort to be subtle...hell, the neon bluenette was known for her musical talents and her active social media feed complete with shots and selfies of heroic actions and perspectives from the hyper-speed girl who'd ran up the side of buildings or around the world to some exotic local.

Then again, while she was hardly the only one with blue hair in the city...she was probably the only one with hair that actively glowed.

A streak of neon left in her wake, Rave skids to a stop at the back of the line, a little tsk from the speedster to find there -is- a line to begin with.

Wrapped in those hotpants, knee high socks and a mesh shirt over a bright purple bikini top. Well, she looked like Rave had come directly from her namesake!
Blue Ranger has posed:
These days, anything could be achieved. There were mutants, aliens, metahumans, and just people applying glow in the dark stuff to their shoes, clothes, hair, eye lashes, makeup. Almost anything was possible if someone wanted it bad enough. It'd get looks, but not screams or anyone thinking it was for a sure a 'mutie' or anything like that. Most people didn't care enough to make a deal. Billy certainly didn't. The line steadily moved. But the actor, if it was him, rolled his eyes, and in an English accent said, "bugger this, I'm going to go see if I can find somewhere else." He moved out of line, passing Rave, "nice hair, luv." This did mean that she was now behind Billy, however.
Rave has posed:
Mutation or metagene was probably the bet, given the praise brought a smile and a light increase in the glow from the girl who lifted a hand. "Thanks!"

A step later and she was now behind Billy, the bluenette lifting herself up on the tips of her toes to crane a look past him at the shrinking line, musing aloud.

"Think they've got that honeycomb flavouring?"
Blue Ranger has posed:
"Honeycomb coffee, tea, or would that be some kind of confectionary?" Billy asked, uncertain of what exactly she wanted flavoured in honeycomb. Sensing her trying to look over his shoulder, he would step to the side, not out of line, but sort of so she could join him at his place, or just be a little offset if she preferred. "Your hair is most intriguing. I like the illumination."
Rave has posed:
Oh! She'd been heard! Well, luckily Rave wasn't the sort to be embarassed easily. "Oh! No hot chocolate, with honeycomb and cream. I've kinda got a bit of a sweet tooth."

As if the girl needed more sugar, given she practically radiated 'living sugar rush'.

A smile, this close it would be clear to see Rave had a similar luminescence in her irises as well.

"Thanks! It is pretty neat huh?"
Blue Ranger has posed:
"That combination sounds like it would be most satisfactory. I may have to ask for one myself." Though she did kind of give off the girl from Wreck-It Ralph vibes, so perhaps that much sugar could be problematic. She really was a human light show too. Billy adjusted his glasses as he looked at her, trying to gauge whether it was her or some trick of the light. Offering a hand to her, "my name is Billy Cranston, pleased to meet you."
Rave has posed:
Maybe she'd picked up the adjustment or otherwise was aware she was getting a little bright, but the glow waned just a little as she dimmed it down, instead talking the hand for a little shake and grinning.

"Rave," she offers lightly, her attire certainly fitting such a look. "And you should try it! It's the sort of warm and sweet to make your morning...even if the weather is kinda on the warm side."
Blue Ranger has posed:
"For such a sweet combination of flavours, I will disregard external temperatures, and order this concoction." He was noting that she had some control over her luminance. It was intriguing from a scientific point of view. "Thank you for the suggestion, Rave. What would you suggest I pair this with? Is there any doughnut, bagel, or other baked item that might work with this beverage?" And oh, they were finally at the front, with the woman looking bored, waiting for one of them to place their order. When neither did, she would clear her throat.
Rave has posed:
"Depends how adventurous you are," Rave offers, a little lift of her hand sending swirling lights dancing info the air to make a silhouetted hologram of a cookie. "Choc-chip if you're feeling traditional, or blueberry or raspberry if you want something fun and tart."

Oh! At the front! A small flash of light and she was suddenly leaning over excitedly, startlingly perhaps, to place her order.
Blue Ranger has posed:
Billy looked anxious at that suggestion. He was a Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger, but he was probably the least adventurous of the group. The hologram of a cookie though was exactly what he wanted. It was awesome, and the delight was evident on his face. "That is incredible." After she had placed her order, Billy would order the beverage she had suggested, and a Chocolate Chip cookie to go with it, though he made six orders of them, as he was buying for some friends. "I would like two trays as well, for balance." Since he could put three drinks and the cookies in each tray.
Rave has posed:
Technically speaking, she'd cut in front of him...but it was only after she'd placed her order and was midway through raising the real cookie to her mouth that she'd realise this, a muffled 'sorry' from the neon speedster before she blinked at his order. "Either you're -really- thirsty, or you've been sent on a supply run," she muses lightly, grinning between bites and sips.
Blue Ranger has posed:
Billy shook his head, "It's quite all right, think nothing of it. But why yes, I have been asked to acquire food and bevrages for a small group of people. It was a pleasure meeting you Rave. I hope we can see each other again, and I might like to learn more about, the well, lightshow, but I am afraid I must depart post haste. My beverages and confectionary goodies will be getting cold."
Rave has posed:
"I should get moving again," Rave nods before shrugging her mostly bare shoulders. "And hey! If you're interested in music, look me up on social media and come to one of my shows!"

With that, there's a lift of her hand to her lips, the blowing of a 'kiss' highlighted by a holographic pink neon 'heart' and then...she was gone, a streak of neon left lingering in the air for a moment to suggest where she'd ran a Rave disappeared back into the city!
