- Ghost Spider has posed:
It's not easy for a Spider sneak her way onto a tiny island in the middle of Long Island Sound. It's not like she has the ability to fly or even hold her breath that long, and when the only boat access to it is 'for official use only,' even sneaking her way onto that is... problematic.
Which is why Ghost-Spider's only here by invitation.
"I mean, how often does a person get invited to the _Titans Tower_, am I right?!"
She's been talking to the ferry captain for the entire trip across the sound, and he looks a little like he'd like to leap overboard and leave her with the boat.
"So of _course_ I said yes... and I mean, I'm not really a big _team_ kinda girl. Spider-Man? He gets _so_ excited whenever he goes to hang out at the Avenger's Mansion, but I... keep my distance."
"Mmmhmmm," the captain concedes.
"I just have a lot going on, you know?" She's _so_ expressive in her movements, leaning against the edge of the boat, her hood fluttering in the breeze as her hands do half the talking for her. And those eyes in her mask... how do they express her emotions SO well? "I mean, just the other day, Vulture tried to steal this amulet from the MET, and who's going to stop him if we're all off chasing bad guys through _space_?"
"Mmm. Right."
...And it pretty much continues like that until she reaches the other side, and then the excitable not-Spider-Woman gives the captain a cheery wave. "Hey! Thanks for the talk! I'm sorry I don't have cash for a tip, but next time, I promise, okay?"
And then she's off the boat, leaping into the air, *thwipping* a line up to the tower, and swinging herself up along the side of the building.
The invitation had said she was supposed to meet _someone_ on the roof.
- Raven has posed:
An invitation was likely a boon, but well...some of the Titans weren't quite as organised as some might like. All it took was a personal day here, a trip elsewhere there and...well, a sleep-in and somehow Raven had found herself finding out not 5 minutes before Ghost Spider was set to arrive that the webslinging heroine was coming.
It was...frustrating, a lowering of her book and a little sigh, there'd been a swirl of infernal magic and her hoodie and 'goth girl' look had been replaced with her costume a moment before the wings of her spectral 'Soul raven' had folded to enclose her and she'd slipped from the shadows to reappear atop of the building, in all her hooded and caped glory.
- Ghost Spider has posed:
It's a bit of a spectacle, watching a Spider swing. It's never a mundane thing. There's a sense of freedom to it that lends itself to playful acrobatics and at times almost juvenile antics. The whole thing could come off as reckless and a _lot_ of wasted energy, if it was analyzed too critically.
Which is to say that Ghost-Spider's mid-aerial-somersault when Raven appears.
*THWIP!*
A last second, mid-air course correction interrupts Ghost-Spider's otherwise graceful arc up over the edge of the building --- which was going to see her land in exactly the same spot where Raven suddenly appeared. So instead (and proving wrong all the haters that say it's completely reckless), a web-line attaches itself to the roof about three feet in front of Raven, and the black-and-white Spider-suited form of Ghost-Spider snaps down to a crouch _there_ instead.
"Hey! Sorry! I didn't see you there!"
She stands up smoothly, though -- effortlessly, really -- and she seems to keep her weight on the toes of her teal high-top Chuck Taylors. Frankly, she stands like a dancer.
"I'm Ghost-Spider." She offers a little wave instead of a handshake. "I got an invitation? I guess because of some stuff that happened..." That wave turns into a thumb over her shoulder, indicating Manhattan behind her. "Hey, did you know your building is a giant 'T' sticking out of the middle of the water? Don't you guys ever worry that makes it kind of a... target?"
- Raven has posed:
A blink, slow and steady, as if Raven were sizing the far more brightly (at least in a monochromatic sense) dressed girl before her. Straight into greetings, straight into chat, the heroine actually gives a little tilt of her head at that.
Perhaps she'd been awestruck by the swinging or keeping composure about almost ending up with a random heroine landing in her lap, but it took Raven a moment to speak.
"no more than the Hall of Justice, or the Fantastic Four's tower. It's meant to be a symbol for people...or a warning. We just have to have security for unwelcome visitors."
And door to door sales people.
"I guess that you were invited for a thank you. I wasn't there for your...thing."
- Ghost Spider has posed:
"Yeah, I'm not sure I could actually get to sleep in any of those places, either. It's bad enough that every time I try to cross the street, Rhino's trying to steal an armored car... the last time I tried to grab a reuben in Kat'z Deli, Beebop and Rocksteady started smashing up the place. Can you imagine if they knew where I lived?"
Humor flexes those eyelets, her hands coming up from her sides in a helpless shrug.
"Probably easier in a team, though, huh? That's what people keep telling me..."
That shrug turns into rubbing the side of her neck.
"Hey, sorry if this is a... I mean, if you drew the short straw. The thing was pretty great, though. There were these drones. Bigger than the Goblin's Glider, but smaller than planes, you know? It was a whole thing... I was just glad I could help."
Beat. Then those eyelets get a little sheepish.
"So... can I ask you where you came from? Not like... where you're from. I mean, do you teleport?"
- Raven has posed:
"How well can they swim?" Raven mused, a joke perhaps? Either way she turned down to look towards the city. "This is an island full of cutting edge security systems...and full of superheroes. It's a little different to having supervillains knocking on your dormroom."
A team, certainly, Raven actually shrugs her shoulders lightly. Why was she the welcome wagon again?
"It has its moments."
A turn, she moves back towards the rooftop access, a path taking her past the pool with a gesture of her hand. "My room. I can teleport, but not...quickly. Usually I just fly."
- Ghost Spider has posed:
"Right?! Okay, so it's not just me. I was a little dubious about the whole island thing at first, because.. how hard is it to get a jetpack? But then _I_ had to get here, and let me tell you, that is _not_ as easy as I expected it to be."
Beat.
"Yeah, I try not to call our guys supervillains. Their egos are already..."
Ghost-Spider makes this expanding-ball hand gesture.
"You know? Plus, they're not _usually_ the brightest... I mean.. they have their moments, too..."
She's walking along after, then, eyes softening to something resembling a smile, then widening.
"You guys even have a pool! I guess the Y _is_ kind of a trek from here. And you gotta keep those leotard-bodies tanned somehow, right?"
She sort of... talks a lot. Maybe it's all those Spider-neurons constantly firing. Maybe that helps explain why so much of it is humor, too.
