- Firestar has posed:
Leaving a few messages and then playing phone tag, Angelica invites Buffy to the house for dinner and a discussion. She knows enough to at least give the slayer a heads up.
When Buffy enters the hallway, she can smell something that is likely Italian in flavor. Angelica told her the door was open, but she can knock if she wants.
- Buffy Summers has posed:
Thankfully there is no Slayer power to allow her to float through the air following the delicious aroma because otherwise she'd be doing a complete Bugs Bunny down the hallway. Instead she just found herself taking a deep breath of the lovely scent as she closed the distance to the door of Anjelica's apartment.
There was a quick tap-tap of knuckles on the door before it opened and Buffy stuck her head in. Just to be sure. Because paranoia helped in her line of work. When no weapons--or fire--came flying at her head, she stepped in and closed the door behind her. "Hellooooooo, I'm here. And something smells delicious."
- Firestar has posed:
Angelica is in the kitchenette cooking. There is a bottle of wine on the island behind where she is standing and two long stemmed glasses,"Hey stranger. Come in, make yourself at home. Pour a glass if you like."
She reaches into the oven and brings it out. Even a blind person could see a lasagna. If not the combination of italian sausage, ricotta, and tomato would be impossible to not smell,"Dinner will be ready in about ten minutes."
She reaches back into the oven and produces cheese covered garlic bread too. She slices the bread while the pasta rests.
- Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy followed the sound of Anjelica's voice into the kitchen, taking in the setup as the lasagna was being pulled clear of the oven. "If it tastes as good as it smells, we are new besties." She moved over to take the bottle of wine, pouring some into one glass then presenting the bottle in a little lift and questioning expression to see of Anjelica wanted her to pour a glass for her as well.
"Not that I'm getting rid of my other bestie. We'll just add you to the collection. What's the occasion? Cause my Mom only makes lasagna for an occasion. Not like just having a friend over."
- Firestar has posed:
A smile for the other woman and she offers,"Welcome. Thanks for coming in." She gets the bread sliced in big slices and nods to Buffy when she holds up the bottle,"Yes please." she replies to that. A chuckle and she adds,"Heaven knows I could use a bestie. I have one, but another would be appriciated beyond words."
She stretches a little and once things are settled for the moment she tells Buffy,"The message I left you. It was legit. One of my contacts with the X-Men, the best in the world at what he does, told me that he encountered Dracula. He knew it wouldn't make me happy and I decided it would probably be a good idea to tell you. Plus I just thought you might like a homecooked dinner. I doubt your job gets you too many rewards other than the reward of one less vampire each time."
- Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy poured the second glass of wine and moved it to the counter that was the only real barrier from the main room and the kitchen area. It should allow Anjelica to reach it easily as she worked on those finishing touches.
Buffy opted to hop onto one of the barstools, automatically looping her feet around the legs in that weird position that seemed right when on a seat like that. She took a sip of her own wine, giving a little nod of approval at the taste.
"The X-Men?" And that had Buffy's attention. "They're real? I thought they were an urban legend or something." Which is rich coming from a walking, talking, urban legend herself. Not like most people knew there was a Slayer and those that heard about it would surely put it in urban legend category. Unless they saw a vampire dusted in front of them. Funny how that changed viewpoints.
"Dracula was hanging around Sunnydale for a bit. Just sort of stirring the pot, lots of talk but no action. Not that I minded the no action. I don't know if I'm that good or not to be able to take him out," she admitted.
- Firestar has posed:
"Thank you." she murmurs softly when the wine is poured. She turns to cabinet, she takes down two plates and then she gets a knife to cut the lansagna. Two big portions for the super hero girls cut up, she hands on of them to Buffy.
She smiles a little and nods,"Yes. They are real. They try to be mostly clandestine at times, but very real." she assures her. She nods at the mention of his hanging around and she puts the bread on the counter as well. She takes up a wine glass, sipping it and then moving around to take a seat and to eat and talk easily,"He's got power. He's able to warp thoughts. Hypnosis things. Fortunately, it made me very resistant to mind control now. If you get a chance to take him out call me. We'll take him together. I'll set him on fire and you can stake him."
- Buffy Summers has posed:
"That's what he was doing to me as well. Messing with my brain. Would make me less on guard, more open to listening to him." She shuddered slightly and shook her head. "I hate that. I've had to deal with it twice before him so at least I can sort of resist it. The first two vampires who did it to me I did manage to kill. Though one of them did kill me first."
She took a bite of garlic bread immediately after saying that because she hadn't meant to say that. And she didn't want to really explain it but she had opened the door and realized she might have to. So chewing kept her mouth busy a moment and hopefully stalled the continuation.
