About average height, a vaguely unruly mop of tousled blond hair, and bright blue eyes - a square-jawed young man with a air of calm and quiet confidence with just a hint of wide-eyed "gosh golly gee", Dyrk Magz is in great physical shape and has simultaneously all the time in the world and no time at all for nonsense.
His Science Police uniform consists of a form-fitted black bodysuit of indeterminate material underneath a short blue jacket with his badges on the upper arms. Some kind of flexible metal armor rests across his shoulders and chest, with a few circular panels on the left presumably holding communication and investigative devices. A matching pair of gauntlets on his wrists, a blue utility belt, and blue armored knee-high boots complete the uniform. His only concession to personalization is a golden L-star ring on his left ring finger.
History

Coming from 31st Century Braal, where everyone has magnetic powers except tourists, Dyrk Magz's command over his abilities were considered exceptional - with upper limits that rivaled local hero Rokk Krinn AKA Cosmic Boy of the Legion of Super-Heroes. When the temporary loss of Rokk and several other members caused the Legion to hold tryouts, Dyrk eagerly participated and won a spot on the team. During his firt big mission, however, while trying to protect a teammate from an electromagnetic explosion - Dyrk lost his powers. After trying everything with no result - and no actual reason anyone could figure that his powers didn't work - he rededicated himself to study and joined the Science Police. Officer Magz became one of the lliasons to the team, and somehow ended up in the middle of a mess that landed him stranded in the 21st Century where hopefully his dedication and good humor will help him find his way.

Dyrk Magz was raised to be optimistic, curious, and friendly. Hard work and dedication got him everything he ever wanted on top of it. When times are hard he tries to put on a brave and friendly face; he doesn't want his negative emotions weighing anyone else down. The loss of his powers were a serious blow, and every time they flicker and stutter they stir the embers of want and loss. But he persists, and he will do whatever it takes to keep friends and innocents alike safe and secure.

MAGNETOKINESIS
As a native Braalian, Dyrk Magz is capable of perceiving and manipulating electromagnetic energy. When he has access to these powers, he's ranked nigh-equal to his planet's champion Rokk Krinn AKA Cosmic Boy of the Legion of Super-Heroes.
Dyrk can lift or manipulate anything ferrous or containing enough metal, with an upper limit in the hundreds of tons. He is skilled enough with these powers to levitate himself in order to fly as well as creating electromagnetic shields that can protect from harm.
He can also perceive electromagnetic auras and other types of electromagnetic energy in the visible spectrum, sense the flow of electromagnetic currents and fluctuations in fields.

COMBAT
As a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes and an accomplished officer in the Science Police, Dyrk Magz is a skilled hand-to-hand fighter capable of handling 2-3 opponents with rudimentary crowbar-and-baseball-bat training with no need for outside assistance. His primary focus is points of impact and speed, looking to end fights as quickly as possible with only as much damage to his opponents as necessary.
FIREARMS
Dyrk Magz scored in the 90th percentile at the Science Police Academy. He's not a Deadshot or even a crack shot, but he can hit the target he's aiming for at 40 paces. He is of course more comfortable with alien and futuristic weaponry than he is with modern Earth stuff, but he makes do.
INVESTIGATION
While not anything resembling an Ace Detective, Dyrk Magz has a talent for observation and reconnaissance. He's capable of finding clues and putting together a working theory based on fact, and is quietly, relentlessly determined in following through. He's particularly good with interviewing witnesses and victims, his warm and friendly demeanor usually helping things go well in that regard.

LEGION FLIGHT RING
The Legion Flight Ring was designed by Brainiac 5, an anti-grav device that allows the wearer to fly unaided at a speed safe for their own biology. It also functions as a Legion communicator keyed to each member's DNA that functions at a distance of several light-years with little to no lag.
SCIENCE POLICE GEAR
Dyrk came to the current time in his Science Police Uniform (minus helmet). It offers a degree of protection from extremes in temperature, as well as low-calibre weapons fire. It's comfortable and serviceable, and still has SciPol communications gear in the chest piece... not that there are any Science Police to communicate with.
He also still has his standard-issue sidearm, which can fire a charged stun-pulse strong enough to incapacitate most non-powered humans - and seriously sting most powered ones.

DEPOWERED
Dyrk Magz is presently, unreliably cut off from his powers. Sometimes he can still feel electromagnetic pulses, or see whispers or fields in his field of vision, and all of this is exceptionally frustrating. No one has been able to figure out why his powers haven't returned, as experts in alien and Braalian physiology haven't found any biological reason they shouldn't. He doesn't *really* feel like his whole self without them, though he's claimed he's learned to adapt to life this way. That said, if there were a way to get them back it would be very hard for him to turn down the offer - though it would depend on the consequences.

As a note: In a backstory to be published later, Dyrk Magz was able to locate Brainiac 5's distress call, and his omnicom was used to splice together a device to cure Querl's case of time lag. But Officer Magz wasn't the only Legion ally out there searching for distress calls...
