- Firestar has posed:
Angelica put out the text to Kimberly. Dinner at Fred's Diner, her treat. She arrives a little early to secure them a seat in a quiet corner so they can talk and keep an eye on the comings and goings. She gives her drink order to the waitress and then settles in to await the arrival of Kimberly.
- Pink Ranger has posed:
Invitation accepted, Kimberly arrives, a smile on her lips and her form wrapped in casual but fashionable clothing. It wouldn't take the brunette long to spot Angela, earning a little wave of her hand bringing a smile with it.
- Firestar has posed:
Angelica looks up and returns the wave and smile. She motions Kimberly over to the table. Once the other woman arrives she offers,"Hey. I thought it might be nice to get together in a calm setting for a change. I don't know how we'll manage without random action."
- Pink Ranger has posed:
Kimberly herself comes to sit, a grateful nod and a little laugh. "It is a great idea not to only meet up when there's muggings and monsters," the ranger agrees, unshouldering her purse and coming to settle in. "I guess we'll have to see if we can make it all the way to dessert without something happening."
- Firestar has posed:
Moving her hand around the place she nods,"Anything is possible, but trying anything aggressive in here at the wrong time could prove. Dangerous. People like me tend to frequent here. You never know what you might get." she tells the other woman with a wink,"Of course that can work against you too since some people are just beligerent and dumb."
- Pink Ranger has posed:
"Intelligence and 'bad guys' doesn't sit as hand in hand as often as you'd think," Kimberly offers as she settles in, grinning in agreement. Trini was out with Billy, the other rangers were doing their own thing....it was nice to take this little impromptu dinner outing.
"Still, glad you called. It's been too long."
- Firestar has posed:
"The bad ones tend to be especially dumb or intelligent beyond reason. No halfway and that can be terrifying in its own right." she admits. Taking a drink of her tea she nods and winks,"It has been. We both stay busy I know, but we should make sure we make time for ourselves. I know I don't enough."
- Pink Ranger has posed:
Goldar as opposed to Finster...sounds about right. Kimberly frowned for a moment before shaking her head and then grinning. "So, since you've planned this little 'dinner date', what is new for you Angela?"
- Firestar has posed:
"Plans? Like I have those." she teases lightly,"Not much is new though. Working towards finals and Christmas break. Working hard. What about you? I see you and yours about here and there. Always keeping up the good fight." So many things they could talk about not in public, but not here.
The waitress confirms their orders and tand the goes off to get them prepared. Anglica shrugs and admits,"For not being busy as they say I don't know how I found time to call and meet for dinner."
- Pink Ranger has posed:
"Competitions, practice, all of that..." Kimberly offers with a smile, a tilt of her head. "We all do our best to have a life outside of 'the life' she adds with a little grin."
Order placed, Kim leans back to let a smile grace her features and her gaze move over the other heroine. Even not being able to speak on things, it was still nice to be in the company of those who understood.
- Firestar has posed:
A soft chuckle and Angelica admits,"I have more outside the life than the life, but that is my choice. I still manage to find the life. Responsibilities on all sides."
Taking a drink she asks thoughtfully,"How are things with...Tommy? Right? I'm not the best at names I haven't been on a first name basis with."
- Pink Ranger has posed:
Kimberly gives a little suck of her teeth at that, a light hiss given before shrugging her shoulders. "I uh...we're..."
She trails off for a moment considering, tilting her head as her finger traces over the rim of her glass.
"We're back to just...friends. The life, you know?"
- Firestar has posed:
A nod and Angelica offers a smile. She reaches over to gently pat the other woman's arm and tells her,"I know only too well. I went from two lover life to no love at all."
"For the record they knew and were fine with it and each other. Just saying I know how it goes. At least you have the friends moniker. I don't even have that. He left the area and she..." she pauses and considers that,"... she...we drifted. A lot. Not good." She finally shrugs and takes her hand back,"So we're young, beautiful, and free. Heaven help the city." The last is clearlt sarcasm at least on her part.
- Pink Ranger has posed:
She'd been there too at one point. Tommy, Trini, another lover whose face and name never seemed to remain in her memory for long. It didn't matter.
Still, thought moved to a smile, a lift of her drink as the hand was withdrawn.
"I mean, maybe you're right? Who knows what we might find?"
- Firestar has posed:
Lifting her glass towards Kim, Angelica nod,"To new beginnings and not knowing where they will take us." she offers to Kimberly. She takes a drink and moves back a little as their orders arrive,"You going back to Angel Grove tonight? I mean it's not like it's a long drive for you, just wondered."
She picks up a few fries and bites into them with not a lot of refinement. Somewhere her mother probably rolls in her grave. Angelica smirks a little and chases the fries with a drink.
- Pink Ranger has posed:
"Not tonight," Kimberly offers, though the truth of teleportation did make things a little more easy.
"I plan to make the most of a Night Off while I can. What say we have some food then see what sort of 'non-bad guy' trouble we can get into?"
- Firestar has posed:
A smirk around a bite of her burger and she nods,"I like the way you are thinking." Chasing the bite with a drink she says,"Not much of a dancer, but I am sure we could find something to do. Someday I want you to teach be basic gymnastics. Not exactly trouble, but you know. There are a few dance places not far. A big enough crowd maybe nobody notices how bad I am at it or notices me in genral."
- Pink Ranger has posed:
Kimberly leans in at that, a soft little laugh as she speaks in hushed tones. "Can't you fly?" she questions softly before tilting her head to the side with a grin. "Dancing is more about having fun than doing well, right?"
- Firestar has posed:
A smirk and she nods,"I can yes. I just like to find new ways for fitness. Some people I know stay skinny as a matter of genetics. I have to keep my figure or I might not make it through the door."
There is a nod and she replies,"That is true yes. More about having fun than anything else. I am working on it, just tend to be a bit self concious at the best of times."
- Pink Ranger has posed:
Genetics, efforts, diet...alien power infusions... Kimberly quirks her lip into a smile before she shrugs her shoulders.
"We'll make time for it later then, because I don't really think we need to go digging out leotards tonight."
- Firestar has posed:
A few more fries and after she admits,"I'll have to get one of those too. Otherwise it's shorts or sweat pants." She glances over the place once, just keeping tabs on those gathered. Not all mutants are white hats after all.
- Pink Ranger has posed:
A little snack herself, Kimberly laughs a little and nods, a little wave of her hand. "I mean, I've done plenty in shorts or yoga pants."
Or alien nano-armor...but yeah.
- Firestar has posed:
"Yoga pants. I put those things on and I'll stop traffic. Likely for all the wrong reasons." she comments self depriciatingly. She does have all the curves you could ever want, but somehow never sees them in the right light.
Washing down another bite of her burger she motions the waitress over. Something in her eyes wary. She asks for boxes and the bill and mutters,"Let's move this party elsewhere. Sometimes the mutant crowd can get as radical as the anti mutants. I don't think they are happy to have a non mutant in here tonight. Fight if we have to, but otherwise..."
- Pink Ranger has posed:
A snort, perhaps the last noise Kimberly wants to make for its own embarassing sake.
Still, she shifts to lean and opens her mouth to rebuke the comment only for the shift in discussion to bring a nod.
"If you like...of course, they might not know I'm not a mutant."
Especially given her abilities even when she was non-morphed.
- Firestar has posed:
"They don't recognize you. Most people are good around here. Even these aren't bad so much as they feel like they have been walked on by the would be normals. Some of them have too." she admits.
She pays the waitress and their food is put into boxes,"My place isn't far. We can regroup there and make new plans." she suggests as she gets up. She waves one of the men off. Sure they could fight, but better to not as these aren't villains, just people that have been ground underfoot.
- Pink Ranger has posed:
Kimberly was a heroine, sure still a little overbearing and emotional at times, but she was kind, not spoiling for a fight.
Certainly not against the innocent.
"Alright," she offers, making to stand and adjusting her jacket, reshouldering her purse as she pays for her part.
"Lead the way?"
- Firestar has posed:
Angelica looks the others off. She keeps her gaze on them and Kim might sense the area getting a little warmer for a few seconds. After that the pair are outside and away from the tension.
Turning down the nearest alley, Angelica leads Kimberly away from the restaurant and in the direction of her place.
