Profile
Meet Hector Rodriguez, a well-known Broadway actor living in NYC. He appears to be a normal, law-abiding, citizen of medium fame. But by night or when he has to during the day, he adopts a completely new persona. He is the inheritor to the legacy of Zorro, a hero who dwelled in Spanish-ruled California and protected the commoners and indigenous people from the tyranny of corrupt local rulers and other villains. As the distant descendant of Diego de la Vega, the original Zorro, Hector Rodriguez has adapted the identity of his famous ancestor and continues his fight against "modern-day tyranny" while avoiding law enforcement, who are seeking him out for his actions against seemingly law-abiding citizens, who are really corrupt, immoral, and sometimes flat-out evil individuals.

History
History:
When Hector was 10, his father was gunned down in a drive-by done by a rival gang meant for members of The Rippers. Hector's father was the family's prime breadwinner, and his mother was forced to take two jobs to support him while paying rent. Eventually, Hector's mother was threatened with eviction by Mr. Sandusky for not keeping up with the recently increased rent. Realizing that she would soon be evicted, Hector's mother sent Hector to live with her parents in San Francisco, promising to return for him soon. Unfortunately, She didn't live long enough to fulfill this promise. Within a few days of Hector moving in with his Grandparents, Hector's mother died in a fire in the apartment block, which was caused by faulty wiring due to negligence by Sandusky. This incident left Hector homeless and wishing that someone would've stood up to Sandusky and Torres before his family was broken apart by these people.
Hector's grandparents, who lived in a much better neighborhood than their daughter, were determined to give him a great life. Deciding he needed a better education, Hector's grandparents sent him to a well-acclaimed private school. Hector proved to be an excellent student and joined up with the various school athletics teams, especially the fencing and gymnastics teams. Fencing, in particular, proved to be the sport he was best at, and he found that he quite enjoyed it, despite getting a scar in an accident involving his coach. When Hector was 14, his history teacher prepared a course in Californian history and brought up a historical figure by the name of Zorro. Zorro, whose real name was lost to history, was a man who protected the commoners and indigenous peoples of Spanish California from corrupt and tyrannical officials and other villains. Hector immediately grew to admire this mysterious man from California's past, wishing someone like him were there to stand up to the like of Mr. Sandusky and Hector Torres. This admiration would eventually lead to his wish coming true, with him being the new Zorro. In his sophomore year of high-school, Hector dreamed of becoming an actor, due in part to hearing stories from his Uncle Mike, who used to work for various studios in Hollywood, and his own admiration for the art of film. To help prepare for this future career, he joined his school thespian club and prove natural in acting, and eventually grew to be a good singer and dancer due to his Grandparents hiring a private tutor. After he graduated from high school, he set for Hollywood to make it big, only to be met with disappointment.
Down on his luck and needing something to not only give him a payday that wasn't from a minimum wage job, but also to get him noticed by a Hollywood agent, Hector auditioned for a off-Broadway musical called The Last Mermaid, which stared a dashing young sailor in the 19th century trying to protect the last mermaid on Earth from mermaid hunters. Hector managed to snag the role and proved to be the best part of the musical, getting praise from audiences and theater critics alike. He also snagged the attention of a "thespian talent agent", who managed to strike a deal with Hector and helped him book auditions all across California, landing him roles in various plays, but never reaching the lead role like in The Last Mermaid When he was 24, he moved to NYC and hoped to make it in Broadway. Two year after arriving in NYC and having minor roles in various Broadway Plays, Hector managed to snag the role of The Phantom of the Opera in a audition, making his career and helping him land more lead roles once his tenure as Phantom was done. During this time, Hector kept up with his fencing and gymnastic habits, thinking he could use those skills for a role, he was right.
When Hector was 26, He was called back to California to be with his Grandmother, who was dying at the age of 102. At her deathbed, she admitted to Hector a closely guarded family secret. Hector's mother was a descendent of Don Diego de la Vega, who was in reality Zorro, making Hector a distant descendant of his idol. His Grandmother revealed that the family was forced to keep this secret to keep their family safe from Zorro's enemies after he died, and became more of a badge of pride that was told to the men of the family when they came of a certain age. After his Grandmother died, Hector returned to NYC and dropped out of sight for a while. While in seclusion, Hector pondered what his Grandmother told him and remembered all the times he had wished someone stood up to the "tyrants" that made his early childhood a living hell. Realizing that the world had only gotten worse then when he was a kid, and that the people were still being oppressed, taken advantage of, or otherwise harmed by corrupt or tyrannical people above them, Hector decided to take up the mantel of his ancestor and continue his fight against tyranny, fear, and oppression.
Currently still living in NYC, Hector tries to balance his life as a Broadway actor with his career as Zorro, who is now wanted in five states and the FBI for his actions against the "modern-day tyrants" plaguing the world, who are mostly seen by the law as law-abiding citizens. He is currently preparing for the title role in the Broadway version of The Scarlet Pimpernel, a play that drew his interest do the similarities with his alter-ego.
Personality
Personality:
As Zorro, he is a sly, clever, determined figure with a huge sense of justice. His sense of righteousness is large and will do anything to avenge a wrong he sees. He is also well-known for being a smart-ass at times, often dishing out biting critiques and jokes at his opponents. He is quite focused on the job and won't let much distract him from his duties. He is also prone to anger at times, especially when he sees a injustice he cannot help fix or fails to fix. He is also quite stubborn, often refusing to give up on a course of action, even if it would lead to disaster.
Abilities
Skills
Acrobatic:
Due to his skills in gymnastics and later practice when he became Zorro, Hector is quite acrobatic. He is able to do flips, rolls, somersaults, and other acrobatic maneuvers his ancestor was know for.
Acting:
Since highschool, Hector has been a skilled actor, which comes in handy for his career as a vigilante. He uses his skill to disguise himself and infiltrate areas he would not be able to infiltrate himself.
Bullwhip:
In order to become more like his ancestor, Hector taught himself in the art of the bullwhip. As a result, he uses the whip in combat sometimes and often uses it to swing from building to building.
Knife Throwing:
After a incident early in his career which involved being stuck behind a wall by a gunman, Hector realized he needed a ranged weapon that wouldn't make any noise. So, he took up throwing knives as a ranged weapon and is now currently fairly skilled with them, being able to throw them up to 50ft.
Motorcycles:
Stemming from a late-teenhood interest, Hector is a skilled motorcycle rider. He often uses it on patrol as Zorro, doing stunts that most people would not be able to. He is also skilled at fixing them and making them work better than before.
Swordsmanship:
Resources
Gear:
Hector uses a variety of gear to help in his crusade against tyranny. His most famous of course, is his rapier, which is made out of a steel alloy. He also uses throwing knives, which he acquired from a old circus performer, and a leather bullwhip, something he acquired from his trip back to California to say good-bye to his Grandmother. He also wears a Kevlar vest underneath his costume to protect from bullets.
Money:
Thanks to his job on as a Broadway actor, Hector has money to spare. He usually uses it to upgrade his weaponry or to help in his crusade in other ways.
Safehouses:
In order to hide from both enemies and law enforcement, Hector has established three safehouses in the Tri-City Area, one for each city. These safehouses are often abandoned buildings stocked with food, bottles of water, first aid kits and other essentials that allow him to hide out until the heat is off of him.
Tornado:
Weaknesses
Mortal:
For all of his skills, Zorro is still human. Fighting a person with powers will be a difficult task for him. He can also get shot, fall to his death, and other fates that can befall a normal human in the superhero business.
