From carny to criminal to Agent of SHIELD, Clint Barton has seen life from a lot of different angles, and that mix of experience has instilled in him an abiding love for anyone willing to scrap and claw their way through this mad, oft times harsh world without succumbing to their basest impulses. NEVER MISS

Whatever it is that he's doing, Clint simply can't miss his target, regardless of what it is. Golf, 18. Darts, he cleans up at the pub. Tossing peanuts into glasses? Yup. From across the room. Playing cards? Deadly. Whatever he picks up and can throw, he throws with accuracy. It's almost a mutant ability!

ARCHERY

Clint is one of the best. From perching and focussing on target to running and shooting while actively taking cover, the man never misses his mark. While others may rely upon guns, Hawkeye is in the fray with bow and arrow. With this skill, he also is knowledgeable in bowcraft and makes his own arrows, and works closely with SHIELD R&D with his unique equipment.

COMBAT, ARMED

Not too bad with guns either, Clint can actually run and shoot effectively. Guns just aren't his 'go to' weapon, though.

CUNNING FIGHTER

Hawkeye tends to be a rather clever combatant. He is very proficient at unarmed combat, but his style is more to deception, trickery, and trying to outwit the other opponent. He has a habit of mixing in quite a bit of gymnastics and the like to remain very mobile and not an entirely close-quarters fighter. Granted- if he's cornered, he can hold his own.

LIP READING AND SIGN

Being badly deat since childhood, Clint has learned lip reading to a fine art to get by often without being 'noticed' as much. He is also perfectly fluent in sign language. Lip Reading- he has to see the person's lips and can generally do so discreetly in conversation. English is much easier, though he knows a few other languages such as German and Italian, some Japanese - learned as a necessity as a SHIELD Agent and sometimes spy.

PILOT

Clint can requisition and can fly SHIELD aircraft. He can fly jets, he can fly prop-jobs, he can fly helos. He knows the accepted flight communication channels for public ATC as well as military.

WEAPONS PROFICIENCY

Although he is not known to use melee weapons, Barton's incredible reflexes and hand-eye coordination allow him to easily master most weapons quickly. He also received training in swordsmanship during his youth from the original Swordsman, who was considered one of the greatest experts in sword-fighting the world has ever known. Barton is skilled with swords, knives, nunchukus, and staffs.

CONTACTS

Clint has 'em in high and low places, but mostly low. It makes it easier to navigate the waters of underworld crime and be able to second-guess where people may be and how things may go down.

COSTUMES

Clint owns costumes to support vigilante identities as Hawkeye, and - more recently - the sword and fist-oriented Ronin. Both are made from weaves of lightweight, protective materials designed to render them stab and bullet resistant.

QUIVER

Clint maintains a diverse collection of conventional and high-tech, 'trick' arrows. The latter category includes standards like bolo, acid, grappling, boomerang, freezing, smoke, and explosive arrows, as well as more unusual options like sonics, suction cups, sleeping gas, and computer virus-deploying arrows. He tends to customize his loadouts to suit a given mission whenever possible, always mixing conventional and trick arrowheads. He is even able to get his hands on adamantium, micronuclear, and other such pricy or limited-use arrowheads if SHIELD deems them necessary for a particularly dangerous mission.

SHIELD

As a SHIELD Field Agent, Clint has backup when he needs it, when he deserves it. He has access to the R&D departments, Medical, most of the cool tech, and of course, a paycheck with benefits like a 401k, vacation, sick time...

CRIMINAL RECORD

Thanks to his former mentor's poor example, Hawkeye spent several years of his early adulthood as costumed muscle for hire for, mostly, low-to-mid-level thieves and gangsters.

DEAF

Clint is effectively deaf; he's at 80% loss. He can hear with his high-tech hearing aids in, but without them, he has to default to lip reading.

ENEMIES

One doesn't have a history like Clint's and not gain enemies. From those in the circus that were 'disappointed' in the way he left, to those Russian mobsters in Brooklyn who are unhappy about his one-man mission to subvert their endeavors, he's got people gunning for him.

HIS RULES

Clint runs by his own rules. He follows the basic 'guideline' of SHIELD, but there are times when he will bend those to do the job in a less... 'darkside' nature when he can. When he has to do the dark deeds and live with it, it does weigh on him, and more than once he's had a 'talking to'. Apparently he's damn good at what he does otherwise he wouldn't be in the position he's in. At the same time? It doesn't win him a lot of favors with some of the harder Agents that find out. Or management. Or himself sometimes...
