Kaelyn is the owner/operator of a new age/occult store. She sells books, charms, incense etc. to the populace as a whole, and in the back she makes artificed items, potions, and generally sells supplies to those of the magic persuasion.

Here's a unique young woman, she is standing at perhaps 5 feet 10 inches tall. She has an overall full-figured athletic build with wide shoulders, broad hips, and she fills out an outfit rather fully as well. Her skin-tone is a rich deep tan, like she'd been living near an ocean most of her life, it's smooth and glossy, not having any visible imperfection. The woman's hair is extremely long, and thick even, those red tresses are pulled back partly into a pony tail, with a leather band to keep her mid-back-length tresses from getting in her way. Over her right ear is a thin, braid with a small arrowhead pendant hanging from it, this pulled back along her pony-tail and allowed to hang over the front of her shoulder. Her bangs are left free for the most part and trimmed short enough to keep her hair out of her eyes. Her eyes being a rich, deep green, and large enough one might loose them selves in, even with their seemingly sharpness of clarity.
Her face is rounded yet slightly angular, quite gorgeous to look at, full lips and she has only a little bit of makeup. She's chosen a simple reddish lip gloss, and a little liner which further brings out those bright green eyes of hers. In her ears are a pair of nice-looking earring, these made of a dark metal, each one having a trio of small precious or semiprecious gems dangling from them. The left has a red gem, a purple, and a blue gem, the right has a blue, a white and aqua-colored gemstone.
Around her long neck is a simple necklace, this resembling a long gold plate having a quartet of runes down each side, her neck leads into wide-ish, though proportional shoulders that narrow down slightly into a shapely torso and waist it seems the woman is very gifted, her chest stretches her shirt fully it seems. Her torso narrows into a nice trim waist and flairs again at the hips and buttock area. To say that she has an hour-glass figure might be an incredible understatement . Long, toned legs are next as one'e eyes drift down her figure, full muscular thighs, leading to trimmed calves and dainty feet. It might be amasing how a full figured girl like her can also be as trim as she is.
Currently, this woman wears a simple button up grey mid-sleeved shirt with the logo "Midgaard Rules" on the front. Comfort being prized as much as a trim, clean look. The front has a low V created by the fact that the shirt wraps around and buttons up one side, and she seems to like to leave the top-button unfastened which causes the tip pleat to rest lower and of course maybe show just a bit of cleavage that seems to strain even this top. Over the top she likes to wear a simple brown leather vest, this having toggles which button evenly across the front, though the girl never actually closes it. She likes it for the pockets maybe, one of the pockets obviously having what appears to be a pocket time piece perhaps, and well so does another. The grey shirt completely covers her navel, belly and really goes mid way down her hips, draping over her slightly baggy black paneled grey pants. Those pants are tucked into mid calf buckle sided boots, these actually being brown leather boots, each clasp appearing to be made of brass. There's a bit of wear to her footwear as it were. On her waist is a black belt with a dull steel buckle. Around that belt are a number of pouches holding things of utility to the woman, her phone, her and tablet both have individual pockets, not to mention some other items, probaly daily use stuff. Also she likes to carry around a medium-sized brown leather backpack, this looking much like it came from a steam punk store.

History

Though she may not look a day over 20, Kae was born almost 30 years ago in a small town in South Texas, near Brownsville. Her family actually owned and lived on a ranch nearby, where her father flew a crop duster, and also had a small twin-engine plane. Kae's past isn't sad at all, in fact it's a full and happy one. Both her parents are still quite alive. In fact her mother Angela is a full blood card carrying witch. Her dad Rosko, while not magical is descended of people who had been a part of the magical world in the past. Kae is the middle of three total siblings, all sisters. All three showed they were capable of learning magics at an incredibly young age.
Her oldest sister is a brunet, and had decided to follow in her mother's footsteps, choosing the same kind of magics her mother practices and to apprentice under her mother. So did Kae's younger sister, the three sisters really only being about 4 years apart overall. However, Kae while magical, her acumen and calling wasn't quite the same as her mother's. Kae was also given the same choice, and she chose to study as a mage or wizard, this of course drew the scorn of her sisters, but her mother quickly tried to quiet it. She recognized choice as being one of the few real powers everyone has. Kae had read about some of her dad's past ancestors, and her uncle and grandfather told her plenty of stories. This is what drew Kae to learning how to be a mage, more so than the earthly type magics and charms her mother taught. Still while they were trying to find her a school or master, she still learned what she could from her mother. However, even with that, her sisters constantly strove to pick on Kae. After all, Kae chose not to study with their mom like the other two, peer pressure and all. Kae didn't relent however.
It didn't take too terribly long for them to contact a teacher, and thus get Kae her first master. Carolinus was his name, named for possibly a mage from ages ago, or maybe a character from a series of books his parents liked. Who knows. He chose to go by the nickname Lynus, and the fellow came across to Kae as a likeable sort. Immediately he introduced him self to the 8 year old Kaelyn, offering a handshake. When Kae shook, the hand came free, and instead of screaming like a little girl, she laughed. Carolinus took the hand back and put it away before revealing he still had his original, before placing a hand on Kae's back and directing her to a set of books the man had already set up in the guest house her parents had put aside on their ranch.
And so it began, Kae started spending most of her time learning magic, she'd spend part of her day reading, then at first playing games with Carolinus, who used those games to get Kae to start weaving and casting at first simple spells, levitation, color change illusions, and ways to make smoke make little animals. Of course these exercises were to get the girl to use her imagination more, Carolinus' method of weaving magic relied heavily on one's knowledge of the laws of magic, and a person's ability to envision an outcome and use their willpower to make it happen.
And when she wasn't studying magic she was studying science, arithmetic, English, German, Spanish, and many other languages all under the tutelage of the older Mage. To be able to be a full on Mage, Kae had to learn about how the world worked at large to better be able to employ her magics, and since this being 'modern' times and all, she needed a fully rounded education to make her way into he world. As she got older other things came into interest as well. As a young child she had always been interested in her dad's airplane, having gone up in it any time he and she both had spare time. Finally she was old enough to start learning how to fly it. So that was also added to her studies, that and basically being 'daddy's' little girl she took any chance she could to be with him.
One might think it would bother Carolinus, but oddly enough it didn't, any chance he had to encourage Kaelyn to widen her experiences and understanding he encouraged. In fact he went so far as to go over aerodynamics with Kae as much as he could after her flying lessons, and then even discussed how to achieve the same thing through arcane means, and also a means for others besides mages to fly as well. I.E.,ow could she make a flying machine through magic that anybody could use. This was Kae's first real solid introduction to the art and science of artificing. Kae took to it quite well, in fact it surprised Carolinus immensely how fast Kae was able to understand it, even if all she did is end up making a small flying toy. Still it was an artifact made from metal and flew via magic. Carolinus that very night suggested to Kae's family to have a specialist brought out to work with Kae as his knowledge of Artificing was lacking enough to truly train the girl in everything she would need to know.
And so, Kae met Rebecca, an elderly woman, craftsman, and artificer. And also more was added to Kae's studies. She even rarely left the ranch any more. Her socializing being put off for studied sand further development of skills. Naturally her sisters would 'check' in on her, usually getting a scolding from their mother should the two have messed something up. Still though, sometimes all three would get together, potions making being potions making across both schools, the three girls would oft take those classes together, that and charms.
Finally after finishing the equivalent of high school it was suggested by Carolinus and her parents that Kae should start her journeymanship period... It was also suggested she do online college as well, just to make sure she had a rounded degree. Kae was curious about this, till Carolinus detailed what she would need to do. "For the next few years you're going to spend time serving under other mages around the world... I think Europe will be a good stop for you at first... There's also China too..." Kae's sisters were floored, never had they thought the lone black sheep of the group would get something so good... Kae on the other hand was not quite so much ecstatic, but curiously "So why am I needing to go, I can't stay here and learn?"
Carolinus gave a slight smile "Witches can stay in a coven and learn and grow that way, Mages, wizards, artificers and sorcerers need to travel, learn under different people and different schools to fully grow. It's called a Journeymanship... If you want the title of mage, you'll need to get through this stage of your life."
Kae nodded and was all smiles as she looked at her parents. Both gave her a hug, and even her sisters joined in... Little did Kae know how fast this whole period would begin. The very next day, Carolinus had opened a gateway to Gallway, Ireland. Kae bade her farewells and with a small pack of goods disappeared and went on about her journeymanship.
Over the next 5 years, Kae went from place to place, starting in Ireland, then later she would go to London, then to Germany, Italy Spain, and Greece... All along she would work under another mage, either in a store as an artificer for the mage, or helping the mage do their duties, like banish bad spirits, cleaning up the work space, any work that would help make her a better arcanist. Eventually her travels lead her to China, where she worked in a small school there, and also taught. All her experiences in teaching, learning different cultural magics, and about those cultures helped to round the girl's experiences out. While in China she took her skills in artificing to all new levels. Her previous experiences with different schools and ways to handle magics all came together quite well in the girl's chosen specialty.
Also in this period, Kae got her degree, that in, of all things, computer sciences. Her ability in linguistics and magic all worked very well for her to pick up the skills necessary to program and build computer systems, as a lot of magics were quite similar at least in general practice.
Finally her journeymanship ended, and she was granted the title of Mage. Kae stayed in China, and continued to teach while she built her self a small library and a large number of contacts as well as items to help in her every day work. Eventually she was able to sell a number of these higher quality items and actually bought her self a store in Bludhaven of all places. Not close to home but maybe with the magical community there, Kae would stand to make a decent living. And so the last few years Kae has spent managing the store, and when she has to she closes things to go out and find various items, and ingredients, usually using gates and the like for fast travel. The store its self is really a new age/occult store and yes Coffee Bar. Kae has, in her travels developed a taste for espresso and hired a few workers to help tend the regular day to day workings of the store. Of course these could be either apprentices of her own, or even journeymen, looking to serve out their tenure. To this day, she lives above the store, and manages the quaint property when she's not out gallivanting around and acquiring new parts and ingredients and helping the occasional person.

Personality

Kae is in a word, Perky. She doesn't always come across as this well trained mage type. Instead she's bright eyed, friendly and can be very outgoing. Kae does have a deep seated want to try and help folks when she can. It's one of the reasons she specialized heavily in constructive magics and artificing. Kae loves a good joke too, she loves plays on words and clever puns. She does have a temper however, and usually one can tell she's getting angry as she gets more soft spoken and quiet. That's when one knows she's getting angry. Frustrated, she tends to shout and combine curse words in new and unique ways.
She does have a serious streak to her too, being what she is she can focus, and that focus can be rather single minded at times. Add that single-mindedness to a stubborn streak and she can sometimes be dogged about things to the point it angers other people. Also she has a mouth that often spouts things at inopportune moments for her self too... She is a smart alleck. Lastly, Kae is loyal to an absolute fault. She doesn't have a lot of people she genuinely calls friends, and those people she holds near and quite dear to her heart.
She does have a serious streak to her too, being what she is she can focus, and that focus can be rather single minded at times. Abilities

AGE
Kae's a Mage, her use of magic grants her a much longer lifespan than that of a normal human. Some mages live a couple hundred or many hundreds of years. Luckily Kae isn't at that point. She also maintains a youthful appearance and doesn't age physically the way some folks do. She will maybe one day die of old age, she just won't show said old age.
ARCANE SENSES
Kae can see, detect, sense arcane energies the way they flow and move. She can sometimes even see a spell as it's being formed and diagnose it on the fly. Obviously distances, blockages, and other environmental happenings can hinder her ability to evaluate a spell or magical item.
ARTIFICING
Kae is a magical tool maker. She makes items that store magic to be used later, or useful items powered by magic. Some of these can be small constructs, like a golem, or a clockwork, or maybe a bracelet that stores spells for emergency or later use, or a focus that helps a mage cast magic easier. All these fall into the range and scope of Artificing.
Magitech-- This is a subset of Artificing Kae employs, she makes magical powered items that resemble say a modern cell phone, or a computer or some high tech trinket. These are in fact powered by a combination of magic and modern components, however these are in fact artifacts. A phone made by her might resemble a Samsung s10 or whatever number, but in fact would be used as storage for spells, maybe have a gateway to a storage space for some small tools the mage might need stored elsewhere, or maybe these magically powered technical items would allow for mages who destroy regular technology at a touch to have something like a cell-phone to be able to accept and make calls.
MAGIC
Kae is a mage, She is a an Arcanist and Artificer by trade. However she is schooled in most schools of magic through her years of study. She is well schooled in in several magical disciplines, including thaumaturgy, and evocation, as well as several schools. Including enchanting, conjuration, transfiguration or transmutation, Illusion, Divination, and lastly something kind of unique to Kaelyn, counter-magic.
Thaumaturgy: Ritualistic magics, these spells require time, components, and large amount of research to execute. These are not meant to be cast quickly, and some spells can take days, weeks or even months to prepare and cast. They can also include healing spells for long term injuries, or even long term wards and travel spells
Evocation: These are spells with little direct lasting impact on the world and usually are cast in anger, or in defense. These include shielding spells, combat spells, quick healing, anything that can be cast quickly and in dire need. By far this is really the most taxing form of magic she employees. Common spells she uses are bolts of force, a magical command she employees that she calls 'still' this being a command that causes the victim to be instantly and harmlessly paralyzed. Lastly certain elemental magics, though taking longer than an instant often fall under this form of magic.
*Elemental Magics: As the name explains, these are either thaumaturgical or evocation spells that bend the elements around the Wizard. These elements oft include, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and wind, and combinations of these elements, Air and Water to make ice, Fire and Air for Lightning, etcetera.
*Enchanting: This the act of imbuing spells and magical affects onto objects. Often these have limited duration or numbers of affects. By applying a spell and linking it to an object, a spell's affect can be moved, easily reproduced, or even lengthened. This takes time, and resources besides just the mage's inherent stamina.
*Conjuration: The act of using magic to pull something from some where to the wizard, or banishing, aka sending it back. This is a whole big list of purposes. Some wizards use this practice to call spirits and banish them. Some wizards use this skill to pull items to them selves, either teleporting them or levitating said item. Travel magic oft falls under this skillset, making doorways, windows, or just teleporting all can fall under here.
*Transfiguraiton: The art of changing things from one thing to the other. Most of the time these spell sets require time, and concentration. The Transfiguration school mostly falls into Thaumaturgy, but there are some small things a mage can do through evocation as well.
*Illusion: Just what it sounds, making something that appears there but is not. Big illusions can be created through thaumaturgy. Illusion is a wonderful school of magic to use with Evocation, it allows the wizard to use all manor of non-lethal means to defend them selves or others, or disguise things they don't want to be seen..
*Divination: Far seeing. The ability to find things through magic. This is one of Kae's priceless schools as she often uses Divination to help her find rare ingredients, people to help her use rare ingredients for potions, and of course reagents and parts for her artificing. Oft she uses this magic as a ritualistic spell, using a special silver bowl, and some distilled water. In a pinch she can use it to find things that are close by, or maybe help her find a clue she is looking for to solve a mystery.
*Counter-Magic: It's a form of magic Kae uses to literally disassemble another spell while it's being cast or shortly thereafter. It's something Kae is working on and learning to use, and has very limited uses. But, if one is able to unweave a spell one is able to understand it and better able to apply it to an item. Kae is not particularly great at this yet, she has to be aware the spell is being cast and have line of sight and knowledge of the type of magic to be able to possibly unweave it while it's cast.
Kae's a Mage, her use of magic grants her a much longer lifespan than that of a normal human. Some mages live a couple hundred or many hundreds of years. Luckily Kae isn't at that point. She also maintains a youthful appearance and doesn't age physically the way some folks do. She will maybe one day die of old age, she just won't show said old age.
ARCANE SENSES
Kae can see, detect, sense arcane energies the way they flow and move. She can sometimes even see a spell as it's being formed and diagnose it on the fly. Obviously distances, blockages, and other environmental happenings can hinder her ability to evaluate a spell or magical item.
ARTIFICING
Kae is a magical tool maker. She makes items that store magic to be used later, or useful items powered by magic. Some of these can be small constructs, like a golem, or a clockwork, or maybe a bracelet that stores spells for emergency or later use, or a focus that helps a mage cast magic easier. All these fall into the range and scope of Artificing.
Magitech-- This is a subset of Artificing Kae employs, she makes magical powered items that resemble say a modern cell phone, or a computer or some high tech trinket. These are in fact powered by a combination of magic and modern components, however these are in fact artifacts. A phone made by her might resemble a Samsung s10 or whatever number, but in fact would be used as storage for spells, maybe have a gateway to a storage space for some small tools the mage might need stored elsewhere, or maybe these magically powered technical items would allow for mages who destroy regular technology at a touch to have something like a cell-phone to be able to accept and make calls.
MAGIC
Kae is a mage, She is a an Arcanist and Artificer by trade. However she is schooled in most schools of magic through her years of study. She is well schooled in in several magical disciplines, including thaumaturgy, and evocation, as well as several schools. Including enchanting, conjuration, transfiguration or transmutation, Illusion, Divination, and lastly something kind of unique to Kaelyn, counter-magic.
Thaumaturgy: Ritualistic magics, these spells require time, components, and large amount of research to execute. These are not meant to be cast quickly, and some spells can take days, weeks or even months to prepare and cast. They can also include healing spells for long term injuries, or even long term wards and travel spells
Evocation: These are spells with little direct lasting impact on the world and usually are cast in anger, or in defense. These include shielding spells, combat spells, quick healing, anything that can be cast quickly and in dire need. By far this is really the most taxing form of magic she employees. Common spells she uses are bolts of force, a magical command she employees that she calls 'still' this being a command that causes the victim to be instantly and harmlessly paralyzed. Lastly certain elemental magics, though taking longer than an instant often fall under this form of magic.
*Elemental Magics: As the name explains, these are either thaumaturgical or evocation spells that bend the elements around the Wizard. These elements oft include, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and wind, and combinations of these elements, Air and Water to make ice, Fire and Air for Lightning, etcetera.
*Enchanting: This the act of imbuing spells and magical affects onto objects. Often these have limited duration or numbers of affects. By applying a spell and linking it to an object, a spell's affect can be moved, easily reproduced, or even lengthened. This takes time, and resources besides just the mage's inherent stamina.
*Conjuration: The act of using magic to pull something from some where to the wizard, or banishing, aka sending it back. This is a whole big list of purposes. Some wizards use this practice to call spirits and banish them. Some wizards use this skill to pull items to them selves, either teleporting them or levitating said item. Travel magic oft falls under this skillset, making doorways, windows, or just teleporting all can fall under here.
*Transfiguraiton: The art of changing things from one thing to the other. Most of the time these spell sets require time, and concentration. The Transfiguration school mostly falls into Thaumaturgy, but there are some small things a mage can do through evocation as well.
*Illusion: Just what it sounds, making something that appears there but is not. Big illusions can be created through thaumaturgy. It's what one might expect from one such as her. It has a direct link to her storage places and can bridge through time and space so she can reach into them. Also, it can act, in a pinch, as a gateway back home. She just has to climb into it, close the flap and then use her ring to bring it back to her to make sure others can't follow. The backpack, for travel purposes is linked to her home and only allows her to travel home, theoretically she could allow others to travel through it. When folks without her permission try to access the back it just appears to be a backpack, it has a laptop, notes, and other odds and ends one might expect a woman like her to have in there. Including a nice novel or two.
BELT BUCKLE
The Beltbuckle she commonly wears stores a finely made warhammer. The Warhammer also doubles as a focus for force-based magics.
BRACELETS
Kae has a number of bracelets, most are magicked in some way.
---Shield Bracelet---
One such bracelet has a trio of defensive wards which she can cast from the bracelet, or will auto deploy to keep her from being blind sided. These wards are 2 way, IE she can't launch direct attacks outside these wards. They can absorb smaller physical or arcane attacks and stay up, but large attacks will generally cause the ward to fail after it has protected the person the ward is cast for, generally they won't let much if any damage through to the person being warded.
--- Magic storage: She keeps some extra magical energy in one of her cabachons. It's enough to give her a bit of a recharge when in an extended engagement and possibly allow her to extend the fight long enough to escape. She also uses it to help her cast larger spells without a lot of physical backlash. Once drained it has to be recharged.
---Healing Bracelet---
One item stores a healing spell, this can be used once on the power from the bracelet, then Kae has to channel her magic through it to quickly heal her self or others.
---Focus Bracelet---
This bracelet she often wears acts as a focus for her combat casting. It makes her evocation spells operate much more efficiently, without draining the caster quite as quickly. This is just a focus, it really doesn't do much without a mage powering it.
COMPONENTS TRUNK
Kae right now has three trunks, each having components for her craft. Mostly for making potions and artifacts. These include special engraving tools, enchantment devices, the ingredients one might expect a mage to have to make potions. And of course her potions gear, these being things she acquired from a chemistry supply store, as well as some arcane shops.
COMPUTERS
Kae has a number of computers, from a couple laptops to a large tower back at her home. Many of them she uses to help her develop new spell matrices and envision them before sticking them on items. Also these machines can be used to cast those same matrices that are stored on them by a competent mage. She oft uses these establish circles instead of writing with chalk on the ground. of course she can do that too, using her pad, or laptop as a reference source to show her what she needs to see to draw those circles. Mostly she uses modern technology like this as a reference source.
EARRINGS
Kae has a pair of earrings. Each one has a different enchantment. One with concentration enhances her senses to a rather high degree, and allows her to focus easily one sense at a time. The other allows her to see well in the dark, and helps her to literally open doors.
LIBRARY
Kae has a small library she keeps safely stored in an item in her home. She oft uses her backpack to access this space or reaches up on disguised shelves, drawing whatever book she needs out of a gap between a pair of books depicting the collected works of Shakespeare. This library is small by many mages standards, these only having what she's picked up in her short time training and as a journeyman. There are about 6 grimoirs, and a few dozen research sources for summoning, artifact design, enchantment, etc.

Kae has taken a Galaxy Samsung style phone and converted it or made a new one that now is powered by the enchantments she's laid on it. This also has a form of Android she has customized. It lets her use it for all the functions one might think of for a smart phone, but she also has a number of 'apps' that store spells and spell references, kind of like a portal Grimoir. Oft she uses it for information and quickly looking up something arcane. But with her enchantments on it, it can allow her to also quick cast a number of spells without having to go through a giant ritual, at least till the phone's battery runs out.
NEW AGE SHOPPE
Kae owns a shop she uses to sell her enchantments, items and spells out of. It also doubles as a New Age Shoppe for those mundanes who frequent her doors. From it she sells potions, enchantments, charms, books on new age, incense, you name it. It's just so happens the minor enchantments, charms and potions she sells often are the real thing, even if -very- minor and rather short durationed. She also sells items and components to real magic users who might come in, as such she also has to maintain supply lines and sellers to acquire her components or go out and gather them her self.
RING OF RETURN
A ring with a simple enchantment which bring any of her common artifacts back to her should they be lost or stolen. The ring its self just looks like a small titanium ring, also this ring is spiritually linked to her. If she's separated from it, she just has to will it back to her and it will appear on her finger. After a few hours the ring will do that on its own too.
RUNE NECKLACE
A simple enchantment on this piece, this piece lets her summon a light, she can choose to direct the light or give a warm ambient non-directional light for her to see by.
VEHICLE
Kae has a newer Ford F150. The only thing's she's done to it is make sure that it won't get scratched up in a parking lot, and rendered it mostly theft-proof. She's also made it so that if it's in a wreck, after she's had it towed off she can simply restore it back to where it was before the accident happened. Other than transportation, and storage of stuff underneath a camper shell, the truck isn't much special. She just likes her pickup.

Kae has a number of artificed gadgets. Whether these be high tech gadgets that were enchanted, powered, or made by magic, or things most folks assume would be a magical artifact. Some have limited uses, some just help her cast the spells she uses on a regular basis and act as foci.
Many of Kae's more technological items store spells for her to quick cast later, these items hold a limited number of spells and have a limited number of power. A cell phone can run out of battery, and the spells when being used put more of a strain on the phone than regular use. As such she needs to recharge the phone if she's using it, or any other technological thing that runs on batteries. And without it the item is useless. Also generally, less it's one of two personal technological items, these program/spells have exceedingly limited use. Some delete them selves or just cease to function completely after the power in their programmed lattice has been exhausted.
Without her items, Kae's ability to function as a mage is hindered. All her preparation is then out, and she is limited at that point in how many spells she is able to pull off.
HUMAN
Kae is a Human being, she's mortal, other than the magics and such she wields. As such she is just as frail as your average human being and suspect to damage or death.
INCOME
Kae makes her income from selling arcane and new age items. She is -not- rich really, as such, she can be limited in funds every now and then and might have a hard time replacing lost, damaged or stolen items.
LAWS OF MAGIC
There are several laws of magic and all, but two of them come to the forefront.
Law of equivalent Exchange:
All magic has a cost.
Be it a physical and mental toll on the caster, or in the case of long rituals, a cost in physical items as well as a physical toll on the caster. In many rituals a number of items are consumed by the magic, thus providing longevity and or power to the spell. Ritual magics have a 'monetary' In the case of evocations or combat magics, these are spells that are not meant to last very long and will eventually tire the caster out. Just like an athlete who fights in a ring, or runs a sprint or a Marathon, a mage gets tired from casting repeated spells or rituals. They need to rest and recharge after a while.
Magic is for Defense:
Kae's magic is to be used for the betterment of others or her self, and for defense. If she or others are threatened by the actions of another, Kae is empowered by the order she learned from to act through magical means.
PERSONAL CODE
There are several rules Kae kind of self imposes on her self...
First: Kae tries hard not to kill. This in many case will limit what spells she can use in a dangerous situation. This also means that generally Kae will start with weaker spells and gradually escalate the spell's power, or maybe change her tactics to try and disable, not kill another being. This means that in a fight she generally won't start out by throwing her best or most powerful spells and sometimes leaves her self open that way.
Secondly: Kae tries to remain hidden when out in the open, this is not always possible, but oft if she is discovered she'll either try and alter the person's memory of her casting magic. She has her family and store to maintain, so she tries to keep from prying eyes. If she should try to act openly, she'll generally throw an illusion around her self to keep from being recognized. While some might think this isn't much, this is a spell she has to cast and maintain and though a minor drain, it can limit her effectiveness in the field.
Third: Kae tries hard to help the folks she thinks really needs it when she encounters them, and she'll go about it in a way she won't cause harm to someone else in the process. She'll heal injuries when she can, maybe help a person if they're troubled by thugs, and help people find other people or things. This is possibly not a weakness all the time, but it can be a hindrance at times.
SECRETS
Kae's a Mage, there's a lot she needs to keep secret from the world at large. And she doesn't wish to get in trouble with the Magic Ruling Body at large. She also has to be careful when she uses her powers in public and about how she goes about it.
SHOPPE
Kae has a shoppe, she has to keep it stocked! Often times she goes out and gets into trouble when she is out gathering materials to stock her shop. Or she can be a little short on money at times due to having to keep her store stocked as well as she can.
SMART ALLECK
Kae's a smart alleck, or a wise ass. She rarely misses an opportunity to make some kind of smart allecky statement about something, or she might throw out the occasional bad pun. Some folks don't really like this and it can annoy those around her at times.

Just like an athlete who fights in a ring, or runs a sprint or a Marathon, a mage gets tired from casting repeated spells or rituals. They need to rest and recharge after a while.
Magic is for Defense:
Kae's magic is to be used for the betterment of others or her self, and for defense. If she or others are threatened by the actions of another, Kae is empowered by the order she learned from to act through magical means.
PERSONAL CODE
There are several rules Kae kind of self imposes on her self...
First: Kae tries hard not to kill. This in many case will limit what spells she can use in a dangerous situation. This also means that generally Kae will start with weaker spells and gradually escalate the spell's power, or maybe change her tactics to try and disable, not kill another being. This means that in a fight she generally won't start out by throwing her best or most powerful spells and sometimes leaves her self open that way.
Secondly: Kae tries to remain hidden when out in the open, this is not always possible, but oft if she is discovered she'll either try and alter the person's memory of her casting magic. She has her family and store to maintain, so she tries to keep from prying eyes. If she should try to act openly, she'll generally throw an illusion around her self to keep from being recognized. While some might think this isn't much, this is a spell she has to cast and maintain and though a minor drain, it can limit her effectiveness in the field.
Third: Kae tries hard to help the folks she thinks really needs it when she encounters them, and she'll go about it in a way she won't cause harm to someone else in the process. She'll heal injuries when she can, maybe help a person if they're troubled by thugs, and help people find other people or things. This is possibly not a weakness all the time, but it can be a hindrance at times.
SECRETS
Kae's a Mage, there's a lot she needs to keep secret from the world at large. And she doesn't wish to get in trouble with the Magic Ruling Body at large. She also has to be careful when she uses her powers in public and about how she goes about it.
SHOPPE
Kae has a shoppe, she has to keep it stocked! Often times she goes out and gets into trouble when she is out gathering materials to stock her shop. Or she can be a little short on money at times due to having to keep her store stocked as well as she can.
SMART ALLECK
Kae's a smart alleck, or a wise ass. She rarely misses an opportunity to make some kind of smart allecky statement about something, or she might throw out the occasional bad pun. Some folks don't really like this and it can annoy those around her at times.
STUBBORN
Kae has a stubborn streak. This usually shows its self when she is trying to get something done. There are many times she -should- let go, she just doesn't.
