Profile
Superboy appeared abut four years ago in Metropolis in a moment many people thought Superman was dead. He tried to claim the name, and bore a striking resemblance to a young Superman, both in appearance and super-powers. People called him Superboy, and it stuck. There is are rumors he is a clone, but most likely he is a little brother. No one could clone a Kryptonian, right?

A young man in his mid-teens. He stands tall and is built like a quarterback. Strong upper body strength, and muscular where he needs to be. He wears a blue and red suit, fashioned angular on his midsection. The arms of his suit are a deep metallic red with golden accents around his forearms. A gold and red S-shield symbol adorns his chest, along with a deep red cape, attached to the suit with golden clasps.
History

Superboy was the 13th attempt to clone Superman implemented by secret, possibly government-sponsored and likely illegal genetic lab based near Metropolis. The geneticists working in this shady project repeatedly failed to clone the complex, alien DNA, in its pure form, but claimed to finally succeeded by mixing it with human DNA. They might have help of a super-genius donor that desired to remain anonymous. As a consequence 'Experiment 13' was not expected to have the full Kryptonian powerset, but he was useful as a test, and perhaps he would be useful as a super-soldier too.
Therefore he wasn't terminated when it looked he was developing well. Instead he was subject to accelerated grow, given a name (Conner) and memory implants of skills, and experiences of a mundane life in a Kansas town called Smallville (it took him a year after escaping to find out Smallville was a real place - freaky). He was also immersed in Virtual Reality scenarios many times, attending high school, and even meeting real people also in the VR session for socializing and learning. One of those he met was a platinum blonde 'bad girl' visiting the town. He still hopes she wasn't just a VR character.
Although the plan was to keep him growing until he was physically about 25, Experiment 13 was freed by a bunch of clever kids, also clones, living in the underground complex. They thought he was the real Superman, who was missing and believed dead, somehow turned younger. The kids successfully sneaked into the high-security lab and opened the chamber Conner was held, freeing a very confused and mostly amnesic sixteen year old (actually maybe 3 years old) hybrid clone. Alarms rang, guards came, but 'Superman' fought and managed to escape the lab complex. Totally unexpected, since he had never received solar radiation, his creators didn't expect him to have powers. But he did. Somehow his human side had given him powerful telekinetic abilities.
Believing he was Superman, the clone wandered into Metropolis and soon got into trouble. Something he quickly have a knack doing. Cocky, arrogant and (relatively) powerful, he dressed up in a modified Superman outfit (including a leather jacket) he did a pretty good job filling the real Kryptonian shoes for a few weeks. By the time the real McCoy returned, most people in Metropolis was calling him Superboy. Although by then he has started to remember his VR life. He started to call himself Conner among his friends, and finding more and more inconsistencies in his belief he was Superman.
After helping during the troubles following Superman 's return, Conner decided to leave Metropolis to find himself and his place in the world. He spent some time travelling, and almost a year in Hawaii. Now he is back to the East Coast, but in New York, since he doesn't want to live under the shadow of the elder Kryptonian. He is taking courses in college, undecided major (what should a superhero learn?)

Life can get complicated when a boy is the first Human/Kryptonian hybrid in the world and all he has is dream-like memories of a Smallville high school that never was. Created, not born. Orphan and friendless. Conner should be lost.
He kind of, sorta was. But not really. He has a special ability to deal with existential problems: He ignores them, runs away, chases girls, goes to parties and gets into trouble. Not thinking about his past helps avoid the angsting. Not thinking about the future does not help, but hey, the present is more important, right? Right!
So Superboy is an exuberant rebel, a bold, impulsive, self-confident jerk with a motor-mouth and a heart of gold. A true hero (so he says). Or so he struggles to be.

HALF-KRYPTONIAN
Kryptonians are highly evolved, long-lived humanoids from a huge planet with high gravity. They also have the ability to store solar energy and use it to fuel vast powers, but even without solar energy Conner is strong enough to lift about two tons, and his reflexes and stamina rival the finest human athletes. He is also extremely smart, although he rarely shows it. His unique hybrid physiology makes him immune to all terrestrial and Kryptonian diseases.
SOLAR POWERS
For unknown reasons (possibly ancient genetic engineering) Kryptonians under the radiation of yellow stars generate a battery of energy that activates vast superpowers. Being a half-kryptonian and a teenager, Conner energy reserves are small compared with pure, adult Kryptonians. But he is still growing, and his real potential (which will take over a decade to develop) is roughly half of Superman's. So Conner will be moving mountains when he is in his 30s. Right now it takes Conner about six hours to fully recharge. He can sustain his powers indefinitely as long as he is receiving radiation, but indoors or during the night he might deplete his power if he uses them extensively for a few hours.
Right now he can lift about 90 tons (120 in total adding his telekinesis). He is also tough enough to stand impacts of equivalent strength. Note that the telekinesis does not protect him from energy as well as it protects him from pure kinetic force.
He can fly, and fast enough to achieve escape velocity and reach orbit.
He never physically tires unless he has depleted his solar energy reserves. He still mentally tires and needs to sleep, but much less than a normal human. He regenerates very quickly, even healing broken bones in mere minutes, and can survive injures that would kill outright any normal human.
He can survive without breathing, although this taps directly from his energy reserves and will exhaust them in a few hours.
He can move fast. He is not supersonic (yet) but he can outrun almost any land vehicle. His reflexes are also such that he can catch arrows in flight and dodge bullets (which he can see because of his enhanced senses).
He has a vision range that goes deep into the infrared and microwaves (he can see radar stations glowing from orbit) and the ultraviolet. He can see in complete darkness. He can focus his eyes into very distant or very close ranges, having limited telescopic and microscopic vision. He can hear high frequencies, like a dog, and his aural acuity allows him to hear heartbeats at a hundred yards, and listen to conversations at twice that.
He can expel stored solar energy from his eyes in the form of infrared radiation. This 'heat vision' will deplete his energy reserves very quickly. Conner can reach maybe temperatures of 1200 Celsius. Enough to melt soft metals and get iron to red hot.
It should be noted Conner does not have, or maybe has not figured yet how to use, X-ray vision or super-breath.

Superboy's telekinesis is the only one of his powers that is not dependent on solar radiation. It comes from his human side, or maybe a meta-gen of his human side. By extended the forcefield around an object or person, Conner can protect or rend apart, or even skillfully dissemble complex machines. He is also able to fly at speeds of about 500 mph.
