History

He spent most of his live driving a cab in a world of self driving cars. He had to make a difference by talking to people. One day, he helped the right person and was given a time traveling taxi with the chance to go back to the age of heroes.

He is a go along get along guy that likes to talk to people and take people places that they want to be. he doesn't like jerks assholes or jerks.

HEROIC TIMING
His sole supernatural ability is that a member of the Hidden Order of Heroic Cab Drivers is that he is sometimes (but not consistently) show up at exactly the right time to take a hero exactly where they need to go.

Everybody knows Space Cabby! That one time he helped Gomularan get to Gorkon IV was legendary. Seriously, he knows a lot of people and if anyone wants to know him, they can justify it. He doesn't know you if you don't want to be known, literally and figuaratively. What happens on Space Vegas stays on Space Vegas.
SPACE TAXI
He has a fast FTL capable taxi that has moderate shielding. It can repair itself if he goes through the motions of fixing it with any kind of tools. It seats four and has a very nice space fo luggage in the trunk. It has a few very minor futuristic gizmos like a cloak capable of defeating low TL civs radar, minor holography to help it blend in kinda, space and galactic band radio etc.
Note: The cab is also capable of time travel, but this functionality has been locked by the Hidden Order of Heroic Cab Drivers, and is therefore only unlockable by edict of the Council of the same order. In practice, this means it is a TP only effect.
THE ORDER OF TAXI DRIVERS
This hidden order shows up with a taxi or stage coach just at the right moment to get the hero to get to the next spot of their journey.

FRUITCARTS
The evil order of fruitcarts will in many times and places have a fruitcart show up and get in the way of the taxi at the worst possible times. Sometimes fruit can gunk up the windshield and in the worst case scenario it might get in the engine.
FUTURE BOY
People who find out he can go to space or is from the future ask him what the lottery numbers for tomorrow is. He doesn't have them.
SLIGHTLY OUT OF SHAPE
He is no invalid but Spayce is not running a marathon any time soon. Too many space fries.
