|Profile=Barbara Gordon is the daughter of GCPD Commissioner Jim Gordon, she was the daring, dynamic vigilante known as Batgirl. Now she's lower profile. Using her brains more than her brawn as the mysterious Oracle. Using her intelligence and computer skills to support her friends and comrades in their more direct vigilante actions.
|Profile=As the daughter of Gotham's police commissioner, Barbara grew up steeped in police culture and the law. Although she ultimately wound up taking her degrees in programming and forensic psychology, she also has a minor in business law. Because of her connections, it was pretty simple to get an 'in' as a freelance computer forensics consultant with GCPD. And it leaves her free to pursue her 'night job' on the streets as Batgirl or in the darker regions of the Internet locating criminals' money.
|Skills=FIGHTING
Barbara was trained in more self-defense courses than most girls her age as a child, teen, and as a woman. For one thing, being the daughter of the police commissioner did allow for GCPD training instructors hopeful for a good word in Jim Gordon's ear inviting Barbara to take part in police classes. And, of course, she found herself taking her own defense courses, finding it a great way to keep in shape. Of course, she's learning some new moves now, but she's finding that a lot of that police training is paying off. She might not do the costumed crime fighting thing nightly anymore, but Gotham has more than its share of muggers, and she still deals with them -plenty-.

LOCK PICKING
|Skills=BAT SKILLS

Good old fashioned lock picking. This was a skill she picked up soon after donning the mantle of Batgirl - even if she still does better with electronic locks and computerized systems.
Climbing, zip lining across town, sneaking into places, picking locks, surveillance, combat driving. You name it, she's learned it since she began this gig as Batgirl. The sheer breadth of these skills is mind-boggling, and if one were to list all of them, it would probably take all day.

STEALTH
COMPUTERS

Barbara is quite good at sneaking around. She's a bit new at it, as far as these things go - it was her experience with Batman that really began to refine her talent from amateur to decent to 'halfway good'. That, and the whole martial arts thing helps more than one might expect.
Barbara is, hands down, brilliant with computers. She can program and hack, hide herself in the dark Web, and she uses these powers for good. And... well, sometimes to spy on what information the alphabet soup agencies have on certain people that she might be considering exposing for crimes. But how could that be a bad thing?!

MARTIAL ARTS

Barbara has spent a number of years now learning things like judo and taekwondo on her own. When she became Batgirl, her training was escalated exponentially because Batman wasn't going to have her get hurt on his watch. She is a solid fighter -- though she'll never put Batman on the mat, she can hold her own and take down most other foes.

TECHNOLOGY
Barbara isn't just kind of good with electronics. Not anymore. She was always pretty good, but she's had time to study now. And when you can focus yourself enough to become Batgirl on your own in a Halloween costume, brushing up on computer operating software, network architecture, and everything else you need to become one of the pre-eminent hackers in Gotham isn't a huge stretch. She might only be working with an array of equipment she's cobbled together from Goodwill stores and pawn shops, but so far it's been fine. Besides, if Bruce wants her to go up against Luthorcorp or something, she'll just give him a shopping list. Even if she'll be worried all the computer cases will be bat-themed.
|Resources=BATMAN FAMILY
|Resources=BATMAN FAMILY

Babs is one of the members of something she fondly calls the Batman Family - a network of allies that prowl around Gotham, generally gathered under the symbol of the Bat. Babs is willing to help out her allies - and isn't afraid to call on them if she gets in over her head as well.
It's funny where you find family sometimes. In Barbara's case, what started out as something of a fangirl obsession has become the real deal. Training under Batman himself, along with all the other proteges who have come and gone, Barbara is one of the lynchpins of this group. She will give Bruce and the others everything she has to give when they need her, and they will do the same for her.

This also expands into access to the resources under the control of the family. Bruce's pockets seem bottomless, so whatever is needed, it is quickly obtained.

COMMISSIONER GORDON
COMMISSIONER GORDON

Babs has some advantages to being the daughter of the police chief. Generally, police will treat her favourably, she has... sort of access to police resources (even if she has to finagle it a little bit), and a caring and slightly overprotective father who controls a lot of that stuff. He doesn't know she's Batgirl, and she wants to keep it that way, but James Gordon is certainly a resource.
Well, let's just call him Dad. Jim Gordon is a busy man, a cop, sometimes a tough man. But he is a good father. And he would do anything for his daughter. Barbara believes him at this time to be unaware of her nighttime activities and she takes great pains to keep him in the dark. If she ever needed anything at all, she knows she could call on her father and he would move heaven and earth for her.

GEAR
GEAR

Babs might not be running around in her Batgirl costume, but she didn't see any reason to get rid of all the perks that came with it. She might not be wearing the utility belt... god, that -yellow- with her jeans? No. No no no. But then, it's not like she can't fit a taser in her purse, or some of those miniature smoke grenades. And handcuffs, just in case. Although she tries to make sure they're not the yellow bat-shaped ones anymore. Sure, she's still got her suit, her cowl, and her whole collection of goodies at home, but she tries to travel a little light right now.
Barbara's Batgirl gear is an impressive collection of body armor and useful tools that she obtained and learned to use under the tutelage of Batman. There are a wide array of miniature gas pellets, flash-bangs, assorted other kinds of equipment like cuffs and grappling hooks. All the tricks of the Bat-trade, she has in her arsenal.
|Weaknesses=HEADSTRONG

In addition to this, Barbara has begun to build herself a powerful computer array. Her day job helps with this activity, and Barbara finds herself not simply working this activity during the day anymore. Sometimes she's just the voice in Batman or Nightwing's ear when they need someone monitoring security cameras or following the money while they're on a stake-out. She's finding it both enjoyable *and* well worth her time. It actually has given her a glimpse of what she might be doing when she finally decides to hang up the cape.

Barbara is the sort of young woman that doesn't quite follow direction well, if it doesn't mesh up with what she wanted to do anyways. So even to her own detriment, Babs will often follow her own way and choices when things hit the wall.
|Weaknesses=LOYALTIES

OVERPROTECTIVE FATHER
Barbara's loyalties to the Bat-Family are certainly a strength, but they can also be a weakness. She will go to the aid of anyone in this group when called, so it can be turned against her by villains. She would go to the aid of her father without question -- and again, this link and loyalty could be turned against her. When you do a job as dangerous as the one she does at night, having people you love is a huge risk because they can be used to take you down. It doesn't mean she'll give them up, though.

Babs knows her father wouldn't approve of the whole Batgirl thing. So she has to balance that out - and having to try to explain weird wounds and other problems, or avoid his considerable influence in bothering with her business.
SECRET IDENTITIES

SECRET IDENTITY
Barbara sports two of them. Her street identity as Batgirl must be carefully kept -- she's a known entity to many on the Gotham police force, so she has to watch her step whenever they arrive on a situation. Luckily, however, most people see what they choose to see -- who would guess that the Commissioner's *daughter* is out here in a cape running around kicking people's butts?? Exposure risks not only Barbara herself but her father and his career too, so she doesn't mess around. And just the fact that she's doing these jobs also takes a toll on her daytime identity too -- how do you explain to someone that you're tired because you have been awake 36 hours cuz, well, Batgirl was needed last night. It can be tough.

For various reasons, Barbara doesn't want to be widely known as Batgirl - both to keep her father in the dark, and to give the various villains she runs into an even greater excuse to mess with the people she loves.
The second is her online handle of Oracle. She is beginning to make a significant name for herself in the Internet underground as someone who blows the whistle on criminal enterprises and exposes the paper trails of bad people. She has gone to great lengths to make this identity unhackable and untraceable. Few in the world are quite as good at that as she, and she has Batman to back her up as well. Between them, the Oracle identity has been barricaded effectively. But there's always that chance...
