Profile

Morrigan is a highly intelligent woman that is a leading authority in the world of Pathology. Shes not the best. But if someone needed to get hold of someone in the top ten, she would get a call. The rumor around the Doctor is that she cant go out in the sun too long. But most of her colleagues and friends assure people its do to a medical condition. The condition is that Morrigan's biological father was a vampire and she got no benefits from the usual pairing between human and vampire. She has heightened intelligence and a knack for working with the blood, but nothing else really. Doctor MacIntyre doesn't know what she really is other than a human with a case of being a fair ginger.

The woman stands at 5'8" and has the coloring of someone that is from Ireland or the typical Irish American. Her skin is pale to the point of translucency, showing blue veins along her throat. Her hair is fiery red and is usually left to its own devices. Her eyes are a violet color.

She usually wears comfortable, but utilitarian clothing in shades of black and grey with crisp white or black t-shirts underneath. On her feet are a pair of old brown boots that have seen much wear. Over the jeans and t-shirt is usually a lab coat with her badge for Mount Sinai hospital clipped to it.

History

Morrigan's mother is and was originally from Dublin, Ireland. Her father is an unknown man, probably of the same origins from what her mother can remember. Their love affair was not the brightest and in the end it turned out that dad was a monster. But her mother didn't have the heart to abort Morrigan. So she fled Dublin and took Morrigan to New York to live with relatives.

When Morrigan was a year old, her mother committed suicide. Leaving the child with no mother and a family that didn't want to take care of her. She was given over to child services. She was five when she was adopted by a couple. Morrigan's high intelligence blossomed at a young age and her adoptive parents protected her from the spotlight and from a lot of tests.

At thirteen Morrigan's sensitivity to sunlight became bad. She could only spend small intervals in the sun. Many assumed it was due to her being so fair skinned, but it was something else breaking through, her fathers genes. See, father was a vampire. Morrigan got few benefits of his vampiric genes, but a lot of the downsides!

As Morrigan has gotten older she's learned to live with the hindrances of the sun, over the winter (And many years), she developed a vaccine that lets her go out for longer periods.

What Morrigan doesn't know is that her father is currently trying to hunt her down. Given her name being changed when she was a child, it's been hard. But eventually this will come to a head in character and as part of story.

Morrigan is generally in good spirits and a people person. She is not a beach goer and doesn't do long festival trips out in the sun. She does does make her day time appearances when necessary though. Like for conferences and things of that nature. Otherwise she does have her 'broody' days where she tends to scream at her work and curse at things in unintelligible Gaelic.

Morrigan is extremely good at researching. Given all the school and her own personal studies she's probably one of the best in New York. But not THE best.

Science! It goes hand in hand these days with Medicine and is needed for the studies she sets out to do.

Morrigan's job pays a lot. So does her trust fund. So she has a nice cushion for her practice and her personal uses.

SOLIS
Solis is the serum that Morrigan has been trying to perfect over the years for personal use and for those who have severe allergy to the Sun. It doesn't work on those that have common sun allergies because...they aren't half vampire like Morrigan is.

CONFRONTATION
Morrigan is not a violent person. This tends to become an issue if there's a need for defending herself. And she insists she doesn't need a bodyguard.

MEDICAL ADVANCEMENT
Morrigan tends to get tunnel vision when she discovers a new medical technique or one that will improve her work.

SUNLIGHT
Morrigan cannot be in the sunlight for more than an hour at a time. If it goes above an hour it will start in levels of weakness, followed by seizure and then the skin burning severely. With the us of her Solis serum, she is able to be in the sun for up to six hours before feeling these effects.

SUPERNATURAL
Morrigan has had a few people make fun of her due to her sunlight weakness. It's actually caused the woman to look into weirdness that happens. Someone with a blood deficiency isn't always a vampire, but you never know!

UNKNOWN FATHER

Morrigan has done research into her father, but has came up short. She doesn't know if it's due to his not being from America or if he's just a Ghost. But she wants to find out someday.
