Profile

A member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora was raised to be Thanos' ultimate weapon and assassin. Once she saw him for his true nature, she tried to kill him. Beaten badly and left for dead, she survived and roamed the universe where she earned her reputation as the Deadliest Woman In The Universe by doing what she had been trained for: Assassinations and Fighting. Now, with the Guardians, Gamora helps to defend those who have no voice of their own, or who have no way of defending themselves against the evil and tyranny of those who would oppress them.

Just glancing over in her direction, there is no doubt that this female is from an alien species when viewed from the perspective of an Earth human. Her hair is an inky black, at least naturally. At the moment it has been dyed a shade of green that is only slightly darker than the green pigment of her skin. Her eyes are golden color that seems to almost glow in bright lighting like yellow gems. Around her eyes, she has applied a complimentary golden hued eye shadow to further accent those orbs. Her nose is straight and delicate, her expressive lips a darker shade of green.

Standing at a full two meters in height, her figure is nothing short of Amazonian. She was built for combat in all of its forms as much as the honing of her body to become such a weapon was likely to appeal to others on an aesthetic level. Long arms, dexterous fingers, an inviting bust, toned belly and strong legs as long as any dancer's all contribute to the attention getting figure that is Gamora. She is The Deadliest Woman In The Universe.

History

The last of her species, the Zen Whoberi, to have survived a genocide committed by the Badoon, Gamora was discovered by Thanos. Taken with him, raised, altered, educated and, above all, trained to be the most deadly weapon he could wield, her life began anew. She found that this life was not to simply be all harsh training, there were moments of endearment to be had here and there. Yet most of her purpose now was to become that desired Weapon. Many missions and assignments were given to her and her levels of success began to increase exponentially. Thanos intended for Gamora to be the weapon to kill Magus and eventually decided she was ready, sending her to perform that duty. The assassination attempt failed and on returning to Thanos, Gamora saw him with new eyes and understanding. She saw him for the evil being he truly was and it angered her. In her foolish fury, she tried to kill him only to be mortally wounded by him herself. Left for dead by the being she once considered her father, she only barely survived. Because of the very conditioning and enhancements Thanos had given her.

Disappearing into parts of the galaxy and universe rarely spoken of in polite company, Gamora nursed her wounds and recovered her prowess in combat. She took many assassination contracts, odd jobs and mercenary missions, building her reputation as a feared and deadly combatant. During those countless "jobs", Gamora crossed paths with one Peter Quill, Star Lord more than a few times. Eventually he was able to convince The Most Deadly Woman In The Galaxy to become one of its Guardians. Gamora now (if sometimes begrudgingly) helps the Guardians of the Galaxy keep it safe from the likes of those who would try to conquer or destroy it.

Personality

Gamora is still learning about herself. Her life was over when the Badoon wiped out her people. Her life was remade by Thanos - not to her choosing but to his. It was better than death but it was not truly freedom to become. She was made into a weapon. Taught to kill without remorse. To kill with ruthless efficiency. That sort of thing takes a toll on a psyche. It is not what she wanted to be. When she did Thanos' bidding she finally saw him for what he was. And she rebelled. It almost killed her once again. But she was free, finally. She learned to survive on her own wits, earn her own way. Defend herself when she had no one else to count on. She did many of the things she was raised and trained to do. But now it was because she was good at it and because it paid well. Not because she was denied the choice to do something else. Meeting the Guardians? It changed things. She now has something of a dysfunctional family. It gives her a sense of belonging she has not had for as long as she can remember. It confuses her and it thrills her.

ENHANCEMENTS
Thanos had implanted cybernetic and skeletal augments into Gamora's body that grant her abilities on the physical equal of Adam Warlock so she could be his top assassin and executioner. The results have given her the following effects:
* Speed matching that of a cheeta (Around 60mph)
* Lightning quick reflexes & agility beyond human capacity
* Superstrength, capable of lifting up to 100 tons
* Heightened Senses (night vision, cat-like hearing, etc...)
* Heightened Stamina & Durability enabling her to fight for long periods
* Regenerative Healing (heal death blows in seconds akin to Wolverine)
* Mental Resistance to reality distoration & telepathic attacks
* Skeletal Reinforcement with a nearly unbreakable substance known only to Thanos
* Able to survive in the vacuum of space for an unknown period of time
* Precognitive Instinct that allows her to predict her quarry's movements and actions in tracking them and where they -will- go to give her the upperhand in intecepting them.

ACROBATICS
The training to perform leaps from place to place. To tumble and fall without injury. Her enhanced body would make her a poster child for the circus in front of a sold out crowd.

ARMED COMBAT
Gamora was trained in all known forms of weapons known to Thanos. She can adapt to new weapons on the fly and adjust to each weapon's unique traits as if she had years of experience.

CHARISMA
She knows how to charm others. Or seduce. Sometimes it is the only way to get close to a mark. She can use her charisma to interrogate others through seemingly innocent questions. There are few enough who could truly resist her if she set her sights upon them.

PILOTING
She knows how to fly space craft from single crewed personal craft, fighters, freighters, up to capital ships. The larger the ship, the less happy she is, but she has the ability to do so as needed. Smaller craft let her perform more evasive and stunt like maneuvers.

STEALTH
The ability to hide and move without detection. She can almost stop her heart, slowing the beats down to calm and still her body and remain motionless for hours in the most awkward of spaces and angles. Her foot steps are no louder than a household cat. She is equally light on her feet and much less likely to trigger weight or motion based sensors.

UNARMED COMBAT
Gamora's martial art skills are among the very best in the known universe. She has mastered 83.4% of all known techniques both armed and unarmed from the most aggressive and dangerous war faring cultures to exist. As a result she can counter and best those who are far above her own physical abilities. This includes Thanos or even those the caliber of the Hulk or Thing. She can take on a platoon of elite soldiers and have every last one down before her cup of tea begins to cool off. She can kill or paralyze with precise strikes to nerves and pressure points.

WEAPON MASTER
Gamora has the knowledge and skill to use, effectively maintain and repair just about any known weapon in the universe or figure out how. From hand held to shoulder mounted or larger. Her favorite weapon, however, is the powerful sword Godslayer.

ARMOR
Gamora maintains a number of different types of combat armor. She has light but highly flexible body armor suits that are akin to leather, able to absorb small amounts of damage or energy blasts, up to full combat armor hard suits able to withstand up to half inch kinetic or energy blasts.

CONTACTS
Gamora has developed a network of contacts across the universe. Weapon suppliers, information brokers, officials. These are people who she has worked for, worked with, or has hired to work for her over the years. They may not always be perfectly trustworthy but few of them, if any, would care to cross the Deadliest Woman In The Universe.

FIREARMS
Gamora has a small arsenal of weapons. Usually the most she carries day to day is a powerful energy pistol. Though she has her personally preferred selection of kinetic, beam and projected energy weapons all the way up to heavy sniper rifles. A gun for every need. Or day.

GEAR
Gamora travels light but maintains the myriad of miscellaneous things an assassin needs, from first aid, to security bypass devices, to navigational aids and tools.

GUARDIANS
Gamora is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. While it is a bunch of misfits, they do care for each other. If she ever got in trouble, they'd come to help her most likely or could be called on to do so (and vice versa). Also, it gives her a home, and ragtag 'family' structure, of sorts, as messed up as it is. She kind of digs it.

THE GODSLAYER
A one of a kind sword given to Gamora as both a gift and weapon of choice to use in the assassination of Magus. It is made from an as-yet unidentified substance capable of cutting through almost any other metal. It contains a power source that allows the blade to emit an destabilizing energy field and the means to kill many unkillable gods or would-be gods. There is a detachable knife that can be used as a melee or throwing weapon and maintains the same properties.

EMOTIONALLY CHALLENGED
Gamora saw her whole species killed. Then she was taken and raised instead to be a cold blooded killer and assassin. It has left her with a stifled emotional state. She is slowly learning how to show emotions. And how to accept that she feels emotions. It is so much easier to feel nothing and just.. Kill.

GUARDIANS
The Guardians of the Galaxy team is as dysfunctional as it can get. They're a bunch of misfits and rejects. (Un)Reformed criminals in many cases. But they are as close to a family as she has. And anyone who tries to harm them will make an enemy of her. Sometimes this is the whole point.

LONELY
Being the last of one's species is a level of loneliness and isolation that no one who is not the last of their kind could truly fathom. There are times even in the midst of others that she is still all alone.

RAGE
When Gamora is taunted about her species being extinct but for herself, that she has no family. When someone takes advantage of the helpless in her sight. When anyone tries to suggest she is still loyal to her 'father' Thanos, or dares to call her Daddy's Little Girl. Any other time someone manages to get under her skin. Well, these are the times where it really is bad to be in the path of the devil. She flies into a rage and lashes out at the source - and any one or any thing in her way.

THANOS
Her so called father figure. The one who saved her then turned her into and used her as a weapon. He will always be the shadow she tries hardest to get out from under. And somehow he always seems to show up at the Worst. Possible. Time.
